I had my doubts about this place. The last few times I have bought a car I did right from a direct dealer rather than a used car dealership. There was an element to this that seemed "too good to be true" have bought a car I did right from a direct dealer rather than a used car dealership. There was an element to this that seemed "too good to be true". The car was exactly what I was looking for and had remarkably low miles on it. The Carfax showed they purchased it at Auction and the person who owned it previously looks like they lived in NYC, so that would make sense for there not to be a crazy amount of miles on it. I test drove the 2020 Honda Civic Si. I really liked it, but I didn't know if I would like it from this particular dealer. I went ahead and test drove the same model and year, only a little more miles at another dealership, and they sent me running back to Car2Sell. I had to go home and take a shower after checking out this other one, they didn't clean it and the person who owned that one must have been blind when parallel parking, the rims were torn up, and it was almost the same price as this one. Conversely, this one was super clean, ran really solid, was in really fantastic shape, the rims were in great shape, and there wasn't a scuff to be had on this one. There were some brand dealerships that had this model floating around, but not in the colors I liked or the low miles, many of them were also more expensive. David was very knowledgeable about the car. It had an after market exhaust on it and he knew a lot of information about it, he knew where the sports exhaust started and where the original was still intact. The two front side windows were tinted along with the back windows. I let them know that it isn't legal in NJ and they removed it without any hesitation once I said I wanted the car. If I didn't buy, the location is perfect to have tinted windows in though, located that close the NYC, someone could come there and buy it, and that is legal in NY so it wouldn't be an issue. Rather than go through their lender, I went to my credit union for the loan and Car2Sell had no issue with it what-so-ever. David went ahead and gave me all in the information I needed to take to the bank, and when there was some missing information he immediately fixed it and faxed over new documentation while I waited at the bank. When I picked up the car, they had it detailed and ready to go. They were very patient while I transferred my stuff to the new car. When I drove it off the lot I felt like I had a really good car buying experience. The only thing I didn't like so much was the lending company they went through, but I also know they are forced to work with who they need to work with. I don't know that there are too many used car dealerships that get to work with the big lenders. I also realize they are working with a lender that does "no credit, no problem" advertising, which don't typically come across as really great to people they finance for. But it was a complete non-issue because they had no issue with me seeking outside financing. Many places might give you a bad attitude to do such a thing because lots of times there is some kickback with the dealership and their lending partners, but Car2Sell is otherwise a very friendly dealer with a great selection of really nice cars that all looked to be in great shape. David worked with me, gave me some wiggle room, the negotiation felt very honest. He got me almost my asking price on my trade-in and we further negotiated with some fees. They did their inspection of the car and said there wasn't any issues. I'm still gonna take it to my local Honda dealer and see if they find any issues. The clutch is in good shape but it feels a little wonky. I will find out if anything was done after that from the dealer. Ultimately, this car is great. Car2Sell buys it as-is and sells it that way too after a shine job and some detailing. But when they go to Auction, they seem to know exactly what they are looking for. Protip: The Carfax usually has contact information for the places a car was taken for service. I contacted them and the original owner had the car looked at an AAMCO, who rejected working on the car because it should be covered under warranty if there is an issue with the transmission. They said the didn't find anything wrong on their end, but also weren't going to go too far since anything wrong would be covered under the manufacturers warranty. I couldn't suggest this dealership more, the selection of cars is surprisingly nice and in great shape and they are really easy to work with (though I only have experience with David). The only reason the dealership didn't get 5 stars was the location. Located right RT 22, the lot is very small, it was a bit scary to test drive with cars flying by on the highway with no shoulder. If they were in a slightly less daunting location with a lot that let them spread out their selection a little, it would have been a perfect experience. More
