Having stated what I was interested in, he immediately setup a test drive. That went well enough that I wanted my wife to get a chance to check it out. After a quick loaner agreement, was allowed to test drive my wife to lunch. We decided to move forward with the purchase. Negotiations on the vehicle price were fair and non-confrontational. We settled on a price and discussed all the additional costs (ttl, etc.) that add up to the financed amount. I offered a sizable down payment and their financing was competitive with the independently pre-approved financing I had come with. A final negotiation brought the total loan cost below my independent financing and we signed the papers. I came prepared and I think they appreciated that. It made the process a lot smoother and never uncomfortable. More
