I finally filed a complait with the California DMV investigations unit. This dealership CARLUXLAX regularly displays pricing as a bait, then switches to a different price uusally $3,500-4,000 or highe investigations unit. This dealership CARLUXLAX regularly displays pricing as a bait, then switches to a different price uusally $3,500-4,000 or higher than the advertised price. This is an illegal practice. If you are looking to buy a car, just know that they will add $4000 to the price. The price advertised is not the actual price. More
Made an appointment, had to wait 20 minutes for a salesman. Finally, drove the car, liked it and asked the sales rep to run the final numbers. After 20 minutes, the sales rep came back, with an added salesman. Finally, drove the car, liked it and asked the sales rep to run the final numbers. After 20 minutes, the sales rep came back, with an added surcharge of $2,000 for a theft detection system. I was not interested and was told that they would not sell the car without it. This should be disclosed on their website and all listings. Borderline fraud. More
Found a 2009 Honda Element online and wanted more information. Went back and forth with no real answers provided. Flew down to LA to look a the car and told them when I would be there, which they c information. Went back and forth with no real answers provided. Flew down to LA to look a the car and told them when I would be there, which they confirmed. No one was available to help me and the car was not there. Waited 35 minutes and then had to be driven 7 minutes way to see the car which was boxed in by other cars and not available for test drive. Car was not in described condition and would not start without a jump. Car had obviously been in an accident that was not reported on carfax and was poorly repaired. Battery was installed in 2018. Tires were mismatched, driver side window didn't roll up and the glove box had been broken into. Overall condition of the car was a 5/10 with only 78,000 on a 2009 and they were asking $14,500. Worst used car experience I've ever had. I would avoid this place at all cost. More
Sick to my stomach. I've flown to places to buy cars before. I generally know how to do it right. First, the carfax looked great. Service history on the car looked quest I've flown to places to buy cars before. I generally know how to do it right. First, the carfax looked great. Service history on the car looked questionable (long periods in between service with little miles driven) but not unheard of in Los Angeles either. The last car I bought was a no-mile, time-capsule gem from Los Angeles. Negotiated a top dollar price of $62k (based upon supposed mileage and condition), got checks and took a one way 530am flight to LA to get the car. Before flying down, I talked with these guys multiple times to confirm the condition of the supposed "like new" 5800 mile car. Due to available flights, I had to sit in a coffee shop for 2 hours to wait for them to open. Unable to see in the pictures provided, I get there only to find: hood and front bumper don't line up, undisclosed damage/scratches, definitely looks like it some crash repair, misaligned fender liners, dislodged rear exhaust diffuser/valence. Tires clearly worn past 5800 miles. That was enough for me. Car was filthy dirty on top of it. It literally took me less than 60 seconds to see all these issues and start hailing an uber to get the heck out of there. Not only did they waste my day, but this cost me $400 in flights/uber rides and crushed the idea of driving home in a nice, like-new used dream car. What a shady, dishonest and unprofessional stealership. I had plenty of time to think about the experience, sitting in the airport, waiting for my flight home. Disgusted. What a disappointment. By looking at this dealer online, I should have known better. Thanks for nothing Car Lux! More
Car Lux is an absolute advertising scam! ! The advertised prices are not honored. I've experienced their deceptive marketing schemes first hand on two different occasions. They are able to ac ! The advertised prices are not honored. I've experienced their deceptive marketing schemes first hand on two different occasions. They are able to achieve Their financial dishonesty most likely because they cater to individuals with less than perfect credit desperate to obtain a vehicle of any kind. This group is unwilling to file complaints with the California Department of Consumer Affairs. I'm currently in contact with this governmental agency attempting to correct their dishonesty and I'm also consulting with a law firm to bring justice to those whom they have taken advantage of. I spoke to several individuals claiming to be managers. Even if you offer to pay their advertise price in cash they will refuse to sell you the vehicle. This is a violation of both state and federal law and the Federal Trade Commission has also be informed. It's only a matter of time until their demise. More
