I finally decided to give up and pick it up to us it and was given an invoice that included the parts they couldnt get. As we were driving out there was a crack in our windshield that was not there when we dropped it off. They take pictures when you drop it off so it celarly shows there was no crack. Jimmy the Service manager said it didnt happen there and even if it did we signed a waiver that they are not responsible for any damage that happens while our camper is on their lot. The corporate rep stands by that so I will never use them and I encourage all to stay away from Camping world Oakwood. More
We purchased a Platinum Service plan with these folks in January of this year. We had purchased an RV from a private individual & wanted it completely checked out & serviced as needed. To date, nothing has January of this year. We had purchased an RV from a private individual & wanted it completely checked out & serviced as needed. To date, nothing has been done to our RV. There are multiple excuses as to why, but it's now 3/31/22 & no service to our RV has happened. Phone calls are not returned & no one other than "our" rep can answer questions. This place is a joke! Untrustworthy dealership My wife and I purchased a new 2019 Thor Hurricane M29 from Camping Worlds Oakwood GA dealership on July 3rd 2020 for over $100,000. We picked it up th My wife and I purchased a new 2019 Thor Hurricane M29 from Camping Worlds Oakwood GA dealership on July 3rd 2020 for over $100,000. We picked it up the 4th after the techs were to have gone over it to ensure it was ready to go and to take care of a small punch list. When we picked it up the only thing on the list that was addressed at all was to charge the house batteries that we were told would be replaced. They were not and continue to lose charge within a single day. I received excuses for failing to fix the rest, but we took possession since they were minor fixes. On the way home we experienced brake failure due to critically low brake fluid level. I was told it was "an oversight" and to add fluid. I did and now 2 weeks later we are in Connecticut and the levels were low again. I took it to a truck repair shop and there is a leak in the rear line. This is a warranty item and the shop was not equipped to repair an RV. I called Thor for guidance and was told to call the dealer, I called David Bounphasaysonh our sales rep who, throughout the purchase assured us if we had any issues he would get us an answer. He could not provide guidance other than to call the service manager stating their was nothing a sales guy could do to address this. I called the service department and was told they don't have any way of helping out of state. In between I called Good Sam to see if they could help under the service plans we were also sold. They refused because it is a warranty item so is not covered by them. We then called corporate and was told we need to get it 75 miles to a repair facility who can do the warranty work but it is unsafe to drive with faulty brakes. This is a serious problem for us as we are 1300 miles from home with a new RV that has a defect that should have been found before delivery to me as the brake tank had less than 8 oz of fluid so the breaks failed on a decline. We notified the sales rep via email the following day as the dealership was closing when we left. We never heard so much as I am sorry from the dealership on the issue and now the situation is worse. In short the dealership made all sorts of promises about being there to assist if we had any issues and welcome to the RV family etc..., took their money for the sale of a faulty unit and we are now left to pick up the mess. In my opinion, based on experience, these people are extremely dishonest, dangerous to the safety of their customers and doing business with them has resulted in unnecessary anxiety, frustration and extra expense. They can not be trusted to live up to their word or obligations. At this point we are simply going to have to locate someone locally who can repair the brakes at our own expense as no one in the Camping World "family" has stepped up to help resolve this. We will pursue legal remedies when we return to GA. The particularly aggravating part is this should have been found before delivery by the dealership as the brake fluid level was visibly near empty. Instead I was placed in the position of nearly crashing the new RV before I even got it home. These people have no honor. My recommendation is to avoid doing business here. More
