When i bought my car through them i had a really hard time, they never called me like they said they were going to, i always had to call them. Finally when i bought my car, i thought the suspension was a little rough, made a comment about it, a year later I noticed the tires getting worn so i took it into the place i get it serviced, also decided to get the struts checked and they are really bad. Parts are broken in them, it rides like it did when i bought it so i am thinking that it was like this the whole time. I am at fault becuase i should have had them check it there, and didnt took their word that it all checked out okay. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN. More
I would like to describe to you the worse car buying I would like to describe to you the worse car buying experience I have ever had. On sunday, 10/11/2009, I called Camelback Toyota's Fleet Sales Depar I would like to describe to you the worse car buying experience I have ever had. On sunday, 10/11/2009, I called Camelback Toyota's Fleet Sales Department and spoke to Dennis, a Fleet Sales Manager. I described to Dennis the Model of vehicle I was searching for and he informed me that there were two vehicles on the lot that matched my description. After neogotiating price I told Dennis that I would be at the dealership within 3 hours; since I was coming from Tucson, AZ and the dealership is in Phoenix, AZ, which is nearly 120 miles. (I didn't go to a tucson dealership since they were all closed on Sunday and I was only in Tucson for the day to co-sign a car with my sister.) After I arrived at the dealership I was greeted by another Fleet manager named, Mohammed. Mohammed said he was going to help me since Dennis was busy helping another customer on the phone. When I was taken out to the lot, Mohammed takes me to the a group of Toyota Sienna's (This was the type of car I was in search for), but none were a match to the vehicle that I negotiated over the phone. Even though I wasn't shown the vehicle I intended to see, Mohammed was very persistent at having me test drive one of the cars that was shown to me. I informed Mohammed that there would be no point of test driving a different vehicle than the one I negotiated. After stating that I wasn't interested in another vehicle, Mohammed leaves for a moment and comes back informing me that the car actually sold the day before and the reason for the misinformation was due to a delay in the inventory system. I was shocked and surprised that this sort of thing could happen. But the worse part of this ordeal was when my brother, whom was with me at the time stated one comment indicating his disgruntleness, Mohammed then has the nerve to stop the conversion, say that he wasnt paid enough to deal with this type of situtation and then proceeded to walk away. Along with my family, I was extremely upset at this point. We wasted 5 hours of our lives, driving back and forth to get tricked and dupped. The excuse proved by Mohammed doesnt even sound valid. If the reason was true, wouldn't it be known by all the sales people, in which a sales person would then go check the lot if a deal was being made. In fact, It seems that lying is common trait within all the sales people at Camelback Toyota since after Mohammed left another Fleet Manager named Robert came out and attempted to do Damage control by lying as well. Robert attempted to tweak his words to make it seem that Dennis and Mohammed did not lie by saying that even though the car was sold the day before they can find the car somewhere. Dennis lied by saying the car was there to just bring us to the dealership. What a bunch of bullshit. Now what kind of dealership does that? We drove 120 miles because we thought we had a deal with a reputable company but was sadly mistaken to find that this was a bait and switch ploy. And on top of that the dealership gets the nerve to get mad at us for being mad at this situation? Like I said, I was only in tucson for one day, I actually live in southern california going to Tucson with the sole intention to make this deal and this happens. This was a total waste of time and money. Be rested assured that I will make it my best effort to get the word out that this dealership is a sham(I will blog, leave comments on review sites and any other outlet that i can find) and also be assured that atleast no one I know personally will ever go to Camelback Toyota. We saw an add for a 2007 Honda Civic that was a great deal. When we saw the car, there were lots of dents on the side that was not shown in the pictured add. We bought the car and they said they would gas it up for us and replace the wiper blades before we left. When we came out from signing all of the papers, the salesmen we were dealing with were gone and the car had the same unsafe wiper blades and had not been gassed until we insisted on it. After buying the car, the sales rep never called us to schedule maintenance for the dents. We went to the dealership 3 times before they took it for service and when it came back, the dents were still there except for one on the hood. I am pretty sure they replaced the hood, but now the hood sits weird with one side lower than the other and the car was not gassed or washed as they said it would be. I also took the car to a mechanic who pointed out that the bumper had had work done on it complete with a crummy paint job. The dealer never mentioned any of this to us even though they had to notice it since there is paint residue on the inside of all of the tires. Take a look under the car and they had to know. Biggest complaint about this dealership is that they are at least half an hours drive away from us, they do not do what they say they will and the communication among the people who work there is HORRIBLE! Try to buy a Sienna thru' the Internet Sale Department. I emailed back and asked for Out The Door (OTD) cost but did not an reply. I called next day, and found out the "selling" price did not include the dealer add-on (paint sealant, tinted windows, pin-strip, tire lock, etc), and was told every car has this, and cannot be removed. So I asked how much is this "extra" will cost me, and he refuses to tell me and insists I go down to the dealership to "negotiate" on these "extra". I told him I am ready to buy it today, but did not want to drive down to the dealership and then walked away, it is wasting my time and your time. I told him if he cannot tell me the price, I will not come to buy, and hanged up. As expected, I got a call from them within 15 minutes (voice message, since I did not pick up the phone) and willing to give me the cost breakdown over the phone. Sorry, it is too late...... More
As time can be critical for me even though I am retired, Mr. DelaCruz works with me for scheduling of all services for our 2006 Avalon. We have been able to bring in our Avalon late in the evening, discuss what needs to be done, and then pick up the Avalon the next day at our convenience. We never were required to wait around for our car and it has always been ready when Mr. DelaCruz said it would be. I know that Mr. Delacruz does NOT perform the actual services for our car but I know he has some control of when the car is serviced. My thanks then, would certainly extend to the mechanics hidden away from the confusion of the front of the shops. Our thanks would also extend to those who prepare our car to be back on the road with such a sparkle. I would be remiss if I did not thank the Cashiers who also ensure the paperwork is properly bundled together and usually give us a great smile as we leave the area. Lastly but assuredly not the least is our thanks to Ian (Fleet Sales) who actually put us into this special automobile. Our Avalon is NOT just a car! It is an extension of our lifestyle and it is thoroughly enjoyed as we go from place to place. Thank you Camelback Toyota! More
Every time I take my car into this dealership for service, they try to sell my services that I do not need. One time it is an allignment and next time mysteriously I no longer need an alligment. My spouse and I went to the dealer to test drive two cars. One was the Rav4 and the other the FJ. We were promptly greeted by the salesman who was polite and accommodating. We told him we were not buying today and were only here to look. When we went for our test drives, most of the questions we asked were not answered. He was more interested in having us "punch" the gas, and tell us personal information about himself. There was no proactive interaction during the drive. When we went to test drive a Subaru at Power, it was completely different. The sales person knew the vehicle and the test drive was well thought out. Answers she didn't know were answered back at the dealership. There was a used FJ with many custom options that we test drove as well. It was at a decent price, so we entertained the thought of purchasing this vehicle. I asked if we could give them a check to hold it until the next day, and the answer was "Let's see what the numbers are." While we waited, I overheard another couple getting the high pressure pitch from another sales manager. When they finally stood and left, the sales manager said to the salesman that the woman was "stupid". Very nice atmosphere. We said we would be willing to trade in BOTH our current vehicles (Kelley Blue Book Trade-in values of $11,600 and $5000). When our salesperson came back with the obligatory offer sheet showing the X'd original numbers and the new improved numbers underneath...Trade in number one at $12,000, and trade in number two $1500, no wait, improved to $2500 (please). Let's not forget the required $4000 down, and a 72 month loan at 9%. Vaseline please? So, being we were only there to test drive, and that goal was accomplished, we got up and left. The salesman was almost begging us to come back to make a counter offer, the "What will it take?" route. As we walked out of the sales office, we were followed out by the sales manager of the department. He tried the same tact and I finally told him, "The best thing you could do right now is to stop pressuring me or I'll never come back." You know what? I never will. More
I finally found the car I've been searching for for a LONG time and with this price! I was overjoyed. I filled out the credit application and from what she had told me everything was good to go. My spouse and I were there bright and early on the Sunday we agreed to meet Lee Sandra. Filled out more paperwork, answered all her questions, gave all to her what she asked for (references, check stubs...) and then I said let's go see my car! and to my gut wrenching disappointment she replied well, we sold that car just the other day. Ok my jaw dropped and I was just simply speechless. She's like well we can't just hold the car --- Well yah..ok...My spose just spoke for me and said to her give us our personals back and we are out of here --- as she was trying to show us other cars...No way. I was dead set on THAT particular car. Spoke of nothing else all week,. When we got home I received an apology e-mail from Lee Sandra saying how sorry she was and that she didn't know that I was interested in only that car. Now I've worked at a car dealership in the past and have been "taught" the bait n switch routine (where they literally told me MOST people come in for a car they have in mind but really they don't know what they need...manipulate them into this car or that truck etc...)and needless to say it drained me and I quit because I have morals and ethics and care about what people want (of course some people want i.e Dodge Viper on a $9.00 salary and really that's a stretch - all with in reason) I would have respected more an email from Lee Sandra saying that the car was sold before waisting my time - the golden rule burn me once shame on you. I live in Southern California, so I was just gathering info.I talked to Chad Hatfield and test drove an XD. I told him about my Tacoma and we discussed trade-in value. I stayed in contact with Chad and shopped around locally when I returned to SoCal. I ended up trading in my Tacoma and purchased a Scion XD at Camelback. The deal was done based on honesty and excellent communication between Chad and I. Everything we had discussed on that first day ended up being how the transaction went. I would strongly recommend checking out Camelback Toyota for your vehicle purchase. More
