I've been reading the reviews on this site for Camelback Ford and I wanted to share mine. It was the best experience I have ever had at any car dealership. It was a pleasure working with David Laner my sal Ford and I wanted to share mine. It was the best experience I have ever had at any car dealership. It was a pleasure working with David Laner my salesman. He made sure I was in and out quickly and that I understood everything completely. Even the Used Car Director Josh Bleckler went out of his way to help me with a better deal on the Cobalt I wanted to get my payment where I needed it. They were very kind and courteous. I would recommend this dealership to anyone looking for great deals and an easy car buying experience! More
This was my first time buying a car, and approached it with some hesitation. I had chosen to go with a dealership over a private seller off Craigslist or wherever hoping that it would mean I wouldn't hav with some hesitation. I had chosen to go with a dealership over a private seller off Craigslist or wherever hoping that it would mean I wouldn't have to play games. But that's all I found at the Camelback dealership. I found a car online that looked decent enough in my price range, and had a friend drive me down there to check it out. I checked what I knew, had my friend check it out too, and could not find anything major. During the haggling over the price, the salesman Mr. Laner kept cutting off my friend, interrupting me, and pressuring to make a sale. I gave in and paid for the car with cash. They informed me they were going to do a final inspection and an emissions test before I could take it off the lot. This was a Saturday and they said it would be ready Monday. Come Monday, I never got the call as promised. I called the next day (and after an hour of phone tag) was told to come down and pick it up. When I got there, the tail lights were out. Should have sent a red flag up, but I was anxious and disregarded this. Josh Bleckler said he would have it fixed the next morning and have it driven out to my house. The next day I had to again make several phone calls to see if my car was being taken care of. Mr. Bleckler never answered his phone or returned my calls, neither did customer relations or the general manager. Finally, Mr. Laner called me and told me it was ready, and had no idea that I had been there the day before or that I had been promised a courtesy delivery. So I went out there AGAIN (a 40 minute drive at least) to finally pick my car up Wednesday. I drove it for only a few days before it fell apart. By that weekend, everytime I turned the horn would honk, I noticed a leak, and it started to have problems at 40mph(which I never got a chance to test drive the car past 30). Taking it into Firestone, I found out it needed 2700 dollars in repairs just to be safe enough to drive. The guy there was surprised that they could legally sell a car with a busted airbag, a malfunctioning horn, and almost nonexistent brakes. I couldn't afford the repairs. I took it down to dealership to see what they would do about it. They wanted me to trade it in for a down payment on another car, which I wasnt about to get screwed by them again. After an hour of fighting with Josh(who was arrogant and threw insults out about what my price range was) I found out that nothing could be done until Monday because the gm wasnt there. I made them sign a pledge saying they will take the car with "the intent to cancel transaction Monday". I had to leave my car with them and wait until noon that Monday for a phone call. Surprise, surpise, I never got a phone call. When I called asking for the gm of the lot, they gave me over to Josh who said there was a check for me, but it was only about a half of what I had paid. Not what we agreed on. When the gm finally answered his phone, he was rude, arrogant, and talked down to me. He refused to acknowledge he sold me a bad car and basically said we legally screwed you. When I mentioned the pledge I got, he refused to believe I had it and said I was lying and stupid. I asked for a number for a Ford representative which he refused to give it. After looking it up online, I called and the rep tried to reach the dealership, but they still didnt answer the phone. Finally I just faxed the paper over. I finally got a call that afternoon from Ivey and I could tell he knew he got caught in a corner. All of a sudden he was nicest guy ever and said he would write a check out for me. When I went down there to pick up my check, I saw them already showing my car to another customer. These guys are crooks!! Rude and shady, they have no qualms selling unsafe cars. DO NOT GO THERE!!! I found a car on the internet that i liked and so we called and made an appointment to see it. When we got there the car wasn'there. They claimed it must have been sold. SO we drove a Mazda 6. It was ok called and made an appointment to see it. When we got there the car wasn'there. They claimed it must have been sold. SO we drove a Mazda 6. It was okay and clean. Seemed like a reasonable purchase. We then waited nearly two hours for financing with our 9 month old daughter. By 1130 that night we finally got out of there. Although the car I drove home WAS NOT the car i test drove. Unfortunately i didn't protect my self and so i can't prove it and they swear up and down that they didn't bait and switch. The car i drove home had a bad alignment job and was very hard to steer, the brakes grinded, the tires are bald and there are three different brand of tires onit. We took it back and some xxxxxx manager, Jorge, said he wasn't going to do anything but then we had to go resign a contract so they had to accomodate us. They took the car in and said they were going to fix it. They didn't; it still pulls, there is something wrong with the power steering (it groans, and it has 4 bald tires on it. This place is a joke. BUYER BEWARE STAY AWAY!!!!! More
These guys are a Joke. I just needed an A-B car to get These guys are a Joke. I just needed an A-B car to get me to and from work. I found some prices on the internet that were great and so I went in to These guys are a Joke. I just needed an A-B car to get me to and from work. I found some prices on the internet that were great and so I went in to Camelback Ford Lincoln Mercury with a list of ten cars they had listed on the internet for under $2K. I had called first and made an appointment as it said on the internet site to do. When I got there it was "oh, we don't have that one... nor that one... nope, not that one either". Total bait and switch bull-xxxx. Then when the sales guy "Miles" sees that I'm ready to leave he says "I've got this Hyundai or this Cadillac for $2995" and I go back and look at them. The Hyundai was worth maybe $1500, because it had obviously been in a few fender benders and looked like crap. The Caddie was in great condition and for the price I was very interested. But the battery was dead. "All of our jump boxes are locked up. Come back in the morning and we'll be able to get it started and take it for a test drive". OK, So I go home tell my wife about it and bright and early the next morning we go back and look at it. And it's a pretty nice car and a great deal. And then they tell me the car is $4200. "But you told me $2995 last night" "I made a mistake" "Then I'm not interested" "Well, let me talk to my boss." 15 minutes later he comes back and tells me "It'll be $4869 plus TTR"!?!? "It's gone up $670 in like 20 minutes!?! Look, I'm willing to go $3500 cause it's a nice car. But that's it. It's all I have to spend." Then the boss comes out to talk to me, and I tell him the same thing. Then he goes back to his office wastes another 10 minutes and "Miles" comes back with the same price he had 20 minutes before. Saying I should "understand that the blue book is much higher then $3500" and cut them some slack on the price. That's when I leave. Bait and switch and then having the sheer nerve to jack up the price on me after giving me a quote is the height of stupidity and non-professionalism. I wouldn't buy a news-paper from these guys, and anyone that goes into this dealer should pay close attention to the price every step of the way lest they slip in some higher figures before you sign on the final dotted line. Seriously! I wouldn't put it past these shady sleaze-xxxxx to try and switch a price or move a decimal point between the time you see the car and the time you sign for the sale without mentioning it to you. Buyer Beware!!! More
Josh, the manager of the used car dealership section of Camelback Ford, along with Alex Padilla agreed that they would swap tires on the vehicle I purchased with another vehicle since they were bald tires. Camelback Ford, along with Alex Padilla agreed that they would swap tires on the vehicle I purchased with another vehicle since they were bald tires. The car I purchased is a Ford Focus SE 2008 white car. The tires on my car were Pirelli brand tires valued at $520. The tires on the Blue 2008 Ford Focus SE were a Hankook brand which are comparable to the Pirelli tire brand. We agreed to split the difference on the cost of the tires so he added $250 to the cost of the car which was listed at $8999. Issue 1: 2-6-10 When I was given the paperwork by the finance manager, Chuck Perkins, the cash price first said $10999. I told him that was an error and the cash price should be $9250. Chuck got the manager involved and called Josh on his cell. I could hear Josh through the phone ask "What the F*** is going on?" Chuck told Josh I was "F***ing Smart" and was "reading every line on every contract" and I was catching everything. Then the other managers came back into the room and told me the price was published incorrectly and it's actually $9999 plus $895 for negotiating a loan. I told them I wasn't going to pay that because I was pre-approved and I already had been pre-approved by Capital One. It took until 1:30 am on Sunday morning for them to finally agree to the original price and give me the gap insurance at a reasonable price of $300. Josh promised he would make the gap insurance fit within my budget which was $11k out the door. I was offended by the language Josh and the finance manager used. I also don't believe it's legal to advertise a false price. Issue 2: Josh wouldn't put on the new tires until I paid the dealership. I called in the morning 2-9-10 to ensure my car would be worked on first and in a reasonable time which I was told was 45 min. The tires were not installed until 10:30 am. Also, they did not install the Hankook tires they agreed to since they said they sold the car they agreed to swap tires with. Instead they gave me Primwell PZ-900 tires which are valued at $45 each. I could have bought a set of brand new tires for less than $250. The tires were also mounted improperly. The passenger rear tire was mounted 4-5 inches higher than the driver rear tire. The Tire Mount warning light is now on. When I called Josh and told him they didn't mount the right tires and they were mounted improperly the only thing he said he could fix is the mounting. More
We were led to believe in an internet price of $26,999 which included rebates when we got to the dealer. Then lo and behold the price is increased by another $1400 because the internet guy made a mistake which included rebates when we got to the dealer. Then lo and behold the price is increased by another $1400 because the internet guy made a mistake.......and quoted us wrong???...We intended to pay cash and my husband was talked into financing it to get an additional $1000 rebate. That additional rebate was calculated into the price quoted. We have AAA credit and they charged us over 8% when all other places would charge 3 1/2 to 5 tops. Then to top it off we get a letter from Ford Motor Credit that the dealer made a mistake in the rate and it was less.......WORST EXPERience in my life......and they could care less....offered nothing .....apparently not interested in customer loyalty.
