Charlie Jones Our experience at Colonial Honda when we recently purchased our Fit was actually enjoyable (compared to shopping at other dealerships). Charlie Jones was the best to work with & super friendly. Immediately upon walking into the dealership he greeted us like old, trusted friends instead of like someone just trying to make a sale. Usually the paperwork is never ending, taking a lifetime to complete. This even seemed to breeze by much quicker with him. The financial end was handled quick as well. Charlie took the time to go over the the Fit with us, its features, how things work, etc. which made us comfortable driving it off the lot. Will we be back to Colonial Honda for our next vehicle purchase? You can bet on that. We will be asking for Charlie's assistance as well! More

My husband and I had been saving up for a used Honda Odyssey for about 5 years now (we are "Dave Ramsey" fans) because we knew our family would eventually expand. We had pinpointed a 2011 Odyssey Touring years ago as our goal to save for - so I had been sending questions asking about out-the-door pricing to a few dealerships up in Washington DC last week. Some of the gimmicky, manipulative responses my husband and I got back from some dealers in Washington DC about test-driving Wednesday were enough to make us want to give up purchasing a car altogether (Specifically this one Dodge dealership who had an Odyssey told us "Several people are looking at this car", followed by, a day later, from the same guy "Well, are you planning to buy? Because we are going to transfer this Odyssey at the end of Wednesday if you don't buy it"). But.. I had done my research and read somewhere randomly that particular Odyssey had been sitting at that Dodge dealership for 77 days, so at this point I was rolling my eyes. The outlook for not being annoyed while searching for a minivan was not looking good. So fast forward, my husband and I ran some numbers on upcoming expenses (unexpected twins) and decided we couldn't afford a Touring after all. We would check out an 2011 Honda Odyssey EX-L RES (rear entertainment system) instead. I did a search and we decided to go test drive the one they had at Colonial Honda in Richmond. The drive was easier than DC, the car was certified pre-owned, and the dealership review on cars.com was something like 4.8/5 stars. Our goal was to test drive the van for the first time (My mom's 2006 Odyssey's brakes were always a bit on the squishy side), and see if we could live with that trim model (no navigation). We called and they had the car still available. When we arrived everyone at Colonial Honda was friendly and courteous. They asked if we were being helped, if we wanted anything to drink, etc - multiple times. We were helped by Glenn Seymour who told us the car had been freshly washed and was right outside. Glenn was very helpful and respectful. He answered my husbands battery of questions about the CPO, the Warranty, things that had been replaced, and helped us figure out the bells and whistles as we explored the car. We never felt rushed. He seemed genuine, friendly, and was not pushy. The test-drive was relaxing and we never felt like anything he said was a gimmick or manipulation-tactic. We liked him. When we returned the dealership looked at my 14-year-old-car that we decided to have valued for trade last-minute. I don't remember the exact words used, but Glenn asked us what price we had in mind in order to buy the car today. And while we were hesitant and planning to look at at least one more EX-L before buying, or waiting until the 2015's arrived so all used prices would be lower -- Glenn ended up working with us until the deal was too good to walk away from. After that we worked with John in another room to sign the paperwork. John was upbeat, funny, but respectful of the fact we strictly didn't want to finance and not pushy (a huge relief). John was also patient while we sat there reading all the fine print for 30 minutes, and answered any questions we had to our satisfaction. Our whole car buying experience exceeded our expectations. The next day I drove back down to Richmond to drop off my Nissan's title and get the stalling Odyssey's lift-gate serviced (which we had talked about before purchase that was covered by warranty.) But there was also another small issue. Thirty minutes after purchase the day before when my husband turned his key in the ignition, the Odyssey's key bent and started to come apart. There had been a small crack in the keys casing. (My husband and I suspect that the previous owners had damaged the key before trade-in). We were sure feeling glad we had bought a CPO and had a warranty at that point, and we called Glenn to tell him about it. He said they would take care of us. When I brought in the key Glenn took it back to the service department and when he returned said they were giving us an entirely new key that was being programmed now. What a relief! This was a huge investment for our family, as we plan to hold on to this Odyssey for at least 10 years - if they had just 'glued' it back together I am not sure it would have lasted. When all the servicing was done I found out in passing by the cashier the key was not covered by warranty, but Glenn had covered it. The key was replaced at no cost to us, and my husband and I are thankful that had a critical point where the dealership had no legal obligation to cover the key - and could have burned us - that they chose to take care of us instead. We will be recommending Colonial Honda and Glenn to our Honda-loving friends, and would buy here again. Thank you, Child Family More

Car buying is about the price but it is also about the service and respect you receive as the customer and Colonial Honda was top notch on all accounts. They dealt with me fairly, respectably, and with no hidden charges, gimmicks, or other pains of car buying. They answered all my questions, didn't push anything more than requested, and went above and beyond in helping me make a decision on my new car. Even though they didn't have it in stock, Richard personally drove to pick up my new car and have it ready for me as soon as possible. I couldn't have asked for more out of this car buy experience. Buying a new car can be quite an undertaking but Colonial Honda defiantly makes the process alot better. More

He listened to all my must haves and helped me narrow my choices down. Even though I brought a new Honda Accord, Jimmy showed me a very nice used Accord as it had most of my must haves, therefore offering me more choices. I never felt he was pushing me toward any car but listening intently to what I wanted and then showing me options. Jimmy also knew we were looking at another brand of car and handled this very professionally never emphasizing how much better the Honda brand was - he let the car, its advantages, and the dealership speak for itself. I felt the "deal" was handled very quickly, fairly, and very amiable to both myself and Honda. I highly recommend Jimmy Monger. More
They Will Earn Your Business I’m a conscientious shopper always looking for the extra value in every dollar spent. All cars are the same and are not distinguished by a dealership I’m a conscientious shopper always looking for the extra value in every dollar spent. All cars are the same and are not distinguished by a dealership. What you are actually buying is a business relationship where it will be serviced and maintained to bring you maximum return on that investment for the useful life of that vehicle. Colonial not only offers a superior sales team but all the services required to get you into the vehicle along with a “pain free” sales experience. I didn’t make a single trip to the dealership until the deal was ready for signature and final execution. The extra coverage on the power train warranty was sufficient to get me interested in Colonial and they accepted my initial offer (no haggling) on the vehicle without the normal 5-6 “pretend meetings” in the backroom with the sales manager to sell your last offer. Save your gas, time, and money and call Jimmy Monger at Colonial Honda. More

I contacted Colonial Heights Honda and was given the best quote on a new vehicle. By this time we had an idea of the vehicle we were looking for. Richard was very friendly, knowledgeable and patient. He sold us on the first vehicle he showed us, he sold us by showing us the features of this vehicle. No one else had done that. What else can I say, I was treated with respect and patience, something that no one else had. I am happy with my purchase and will recommend your dealership anytime. Exceptional Salesperson Dear Colonial Honda, I would like to take a moment to express my thanks and appreciation to Colonial Honda for the s Dear Colonial Honda, I would like to take a moment to express my thanks and appreciation to Colonial Honda for the superior experience we had during our recent purchase of our new 2011 Honda Accord. I would also like to ensure that I bring to the attention of the Management that the salesperson who took care of us, Maurice Studivant, is an outstanding salesperson. This is the second time we have purchased from your dealership, and Maurice was the salesperson who took care of us during our first purchase as well. The way he took care of us and worked to ensure all our needs were met and all our questions were answered was the primary reason we decided to come back to Colonial Honda for our most recent purchase. Of course the quality of Honda also contributed to our decision. I sincerely hope that the Management at Colonial Honda recognizes how great a salesperson Maurice is and how much he cares and how hard he works for his clients. Please express my thanks to him. I think I'll probably be back to buy my next car from him one day in the not too distant future. Sincerely, Philip Rainey More
