I initially made contact with this dealership by way of their website and the "request and e-price feature". Within hours of submitting my request I had a quote from Jimmy Monger waiting in my inbox. Since the vehicle they had in stock was not in the color combination I was looking for I asked what Hybrid Accords they had coming through the pipeline. I was notified that coincidentally there happened to be a Touring-trim arriving later in the week in just the right color combination. I wasn't expecting them to take much off of the sale price since dealers I dealt with in Northern Virginia where I live either didn't have them in stock or weren't accepting (at least initially) to take anything off MSRP. I was very pleasantly surprised by their highly competitive offer that I decided to go ahead a put a deposit down on the car. Jimmy called me the following Monday to notify me that the car had come in. Since I live in Northern Virginia and didn't have anybody on that particular day to drive me down to Richmond, I inquired if he might be willing to pick me up at the Richmond Amtrak station if I took the train down to which he agreed immediately (it was the end of the month so they were trying to close as many sales as possible but I believe he would have done this regardless). Due to the inefficiencies of American train travel, I ended up making him wait in the parking lot for over 45 minutes. If he was annoyed by this he gave no visual cues of it and remained courteous and professional the whole way down to their dealership. When I arrived the closing process was quick and honest, they honored the price I had quoted online and were not too pushy with the sales of extended warranties and the like (I never like to make these purchases on the spot, I like to take some time to think them through outside the heat of the moment). Overall it was a real pleasure dealing with Jimmy for the purchase of my 2014 Accord Hybrid Touring. His professionalism, courteousness, honesty, and desire to go above and beyond exceeded my expectations of a car salesman. I sincerely recommend working Jimmy and the rest of the staff at Colonial Honda for your next car purchase. More
Pleasant Experience Charlie was great. He did not pressure us to make a decision or try to steer us to a particular model/trim. He showed us features we were unfamiliar Charlie was great. He showed us features we were unfamiliar with and was more than willing to let us take two different vehicles for a test drive. His personality was great and we were able to relax and build a comfortable relationship with him. When we had to wait on paperwork he held pleasant conversation with us which was nice. During our time in the building we overhead conversations of other customers with sales representatives and I felt we had a more relaxed experience with Charlie. I would say that if we had felt any pressure during the weekend we might not have purchased a vehicle. If I had friends in the area looking to purchase a Honda I would tell them to ask for Charlie at Colonial Honda. More

We researched different makes and models and visited several different dealerships in the Richmond area and surrounding counties, which renewed my anxiety about making the purchase. And then we landed at Colonial Honda and we were very fortunate to have Richard Miller as our sales specialist. Richard was extremely knowledgeable about the Honda CR-V we were looking at and was excellent in explaining the features and advantages in each model. My husband and I have very hectic schedules and Richard was most accommodating - even meeting us at the dealership on his day off so that we could once again see the CR-V we were interested in and to make sure that we knew exactly how to operate all of the features. Richard was not pushy (I can't tolerate that) - he answered all of our questions and gave suggestions and allowed us to talk privately and make decisions. He had the car ready to drive off the lot when we arrived for possession. Richard made it a no-hassle, comfortable, fun experience. I know that we can contact him with any questions or concerns that we may have with regard to our new CR-V. Normally It is a painful (negotiating and bickering with sales persons and sales managers) and time consuming process but Colonial Honda was different! Dealing with Wendy Sparks was a very pleasant experience. From the moment she introduced herself we never felt pressured or rushed into any decisions. Wendy was very knowledgeable about Hondas vehicles answering each and every question we had. The entire Colonial Honda staff was very courteous and professional. We would rate our car buying experience at Colonial Honda at five out of five stars!! Without a doubt we would return to Colonial Honda and look for Wendy if and when we decide to but another vehicle in the future. Thank you to all who assisted in our car buying experience!!! More

From the beginning, my Internet Sales Manager, Jimmy Monger answered all the questions I had about this vehicle. Additionally, he was straight forward in regards to the price of the vehicle, sales tax, local business tax and dealer processing fee. The information he provided was extremely helpful in deciding whether to proceed with the vehicle purchase or not. Even after I told him that I would reconsider this vehicle purchase, he came back professionally and offered me a discount that helped seal the deal. Overall, I was very pleased with the positive experience that Colonial Honda afforded me in getting the vehicle I wanted. We ended up buying a Touring fully loaded due to the smooth ride, heavy feel, accessory package and trim works. We have loved our new Touring and are so glad that we chose this vehicle. During the car buying process, Wendy Sparks was amazing to deal with! She was knowledgeable and easy to get along with. She made us feel comfortable as we looked at each of the Pilot models and was understanding when we told her that we wanted to drive several different brands. Upon purchase and delivery, Wendy helped us through the process and has followed up to see if we have any questions or need anything. Wendy, George and John (in Finance) were great to work with and we were pleased with the buying process. More

First, but definitely not the last The experience of buying a car was a first for me...and I am 35 years old. I have been fortunate that I have had jobs that provided me with a company The experience of buying a car was a first for me...and I am 35 years old. I have been fortunate that I have had jobs that provided me with a company car, been able to borrow a car from my parents in interim periods, or most recently had a father in law who was kind enough to bequeath us my mother in law's old vehicle. However it was time for my wife and I to take the plunge a get our first car. Check that, minivan. We are welcoming our third child into our family in September and a minivan just made the most sense, and the Honda Odyssey was exactly what we needed. Our search for the perfect vehicle began about 6 months ago when we found out my wife was pregnant. We knew we had time to research and pick the perfect vehicle for us, so I searched in most of my free time through cars.com, eBay, Auto Trader, and several other sites looking for "the one". It wasn't until recently that we had the resources available to us to make the purchase and we knew that time was of the essence. We live in SC and I commute to MD during the week to work. This gave us a 500 mile stretch of area to search. I found that the DC Metro area had the largest selection of Odysseys, but found out the hard way they had the worst customer service and willingness to make a deal. I contacted around 8 dealerships trying to make deals and even went to visit 3 in person hoping to drive off in an Odyssey, but it wasn't in the cards. They were - understandably so - in it for the bottom line and not the building of a lifetime customer relationship. Dealt with like a number, passed around like a rag doll, and every car sales trick and technique in the book was used to try to get me to purchase a vehicle for much more than I wanted to or was even necessary for them to make a good profit. Even telling them point blank "this is what I have for a car" didn't deter them. Several times I was laughed at, other times I was told "this isn't how it works" when in actuality I knew that it did and could work like that. When I thought all hope was lost I decided to look in one more area I drove through on my way home to SC, that area being Richmond, VA. There at Colonial Honda in Chester, VA I found "the one". It was a tad out of our price range, but I knew I had nothing to lose by stopping in to look at it, especially after the way my dealings had gone previously. I walked in to the dealership without an appointment during a very busy time for them. It was chance that I was paired with my new hero, sales consultant Charlie Jones. I had walked into the wrong end of the dealership so was passed over by several consultants that believed I was already being helped. When I went to inquire as to if there was someone I could speak with, Charlie and who I believe to be one of the sales managers were standing there. The sales manager asked Charlie to work with me to which his response was "I have an appointment coming in, but they're not here yet. I'll be glad to help." Had it not been for his late customer, I would not have left with he perfect vehicle for my family, and would not have had the extreme pleasure of working with and getting to know Charlie. Charlie was unlike any other car salesperson I had encountered in that he cared more about making sure I had what I wanted in a vehicle rather than making sure I left with any vehicle. Fortunately for both of us I knew what I wanted and I knew what I had to get what I wanted. After a short period of negotiations, Charlie and the sales team made it happen. Not once did I feel pressured. Not once did I feel like anything less than an equal. I was comfortable the entire time I was there and knew that I wasn't being taken advantage of. The feeling I had when leaving there in our new Certified 2012 Honda Odyssey EX-L was great! I left feeling like part of the Colonial Honda family and I hate that I do not live any closer so I could stop in occasionally just to say hello, because Charlie and the rest of the Colonial staff are definitely those type of people. When the time comes again to shop for a vehicle, new or used, I will begin my search with Colonial! More
