December 30, 2011 To whom it may concern: I am writing December 30, 2011 To whom it may concern: I am writing to inform you of the outstanding customer service my family and I received from Youmans Chevr December 30, 2011 To whom it may concern: I am writing to inform you of the outstanding customer service my family and I received from Youmans Chevrolet (Macon, Ga). While taking our 3 young children on a family vacation to Blue Ridge, GA the day after Christmas, our Pontiac Montana van experienced mechanical issues. As you can imagine, the drive up from Tampa, Florida, had been stressful knowing the car was malfunctioning and finding a dealership that was open AND had a service center that was open was near impossible. We googled all of the GM dealers on our route and were elated to find that Youmans Chevrolet was not only open and servicing cars, they could help us right away. Dewayne Owens, service consultant, greeted us with such warmth and understanding; we knew we were in good hands. After diagnosing the problem, it was determined that the van would need a new alternator. Unfortunately, part was not in stock and since it was December 26, we were having a difficult time locating it elsewhere. To further complicate the situation, due to the holiday, local car rental companies were also closed. Just when we thought we may be stuck, the generous people at Youmans Chevrolet loaned us a car, a beautiful Chevy Impala, and got us back on the road. We left our van in Macon, in the more than capable hands at Youmans Chevrolet and were able to enjoy our vacation. While we were away, the van was fixed, washed and waiting for us 3 days later. We were so very grateful for their service and kindness and wanted to make sure you knew what an outstanding dealership they are. Sincerely, More
I bought a 2007 Chevy Aveo LS Sedan from them on May 23, 2011. During the sale i was told the car had been given an inspection when it was traded in to the dealer and this was one of the sale points of the 2011. During the sale i was told the car had been given an inspection when it was traded in to the dealer and this was one of the sale points of the car. I bought the car and two days later my Check Engine light comes on, i took the car to the dealer and asked them to check it out and fix it being the car was only 2 days old. They told me it would cost one-hundred dollars JUST TO LOOK AT IT, plus parts and labor. I decided to take it to my local Firestone, before i get there i started spewing radiator fluid all over the road and was unable to take it anywhere. I called the Manager on staff and he had the car towed back to the service center at the dealer and replaced the heater hose, as well as telling me that the rest of the car would receive an inspection. I went to pick the car up the next day to only find out after I'm on my way back to Warner Robins that the check engine light was blinking again. I had the car coded at my local auto zone and the cause of the check engine light was a Cylinder Misfire condition. I Immediately called the dealer once again and asked about the inspection on the car and asked for a copy of it, my sales rep Johnny told me that they where not required to do an inspection on the car because it had 100K+ miles on it and that all the repairs i needed to have done to the car would have to come out of my own pocket since none of them where covered by the warranty that i paid an extra 1250 dollars for. I refused to take it back to the dealer and took it back to my local firestone and still ended up putting 1153.00 more dollars in repairs into the car. I had to have the roaters replaced, fuel injector system cleaned and flushed, a Coil pack replaced, new spark plugs and wires, a brake adjustment, a new Serpentine belt, a new Alternator drive belt as well as a general tune up on the car. All of this in under a WEEK from when i bought the car from the dealership. I will never buy from these people again and i strongly urge others to do the same. -Anthony Nelson More
