The service department is great as well at getting out of warranty items covered after expiration of the warranty. The employees all seem to love working there and stay year after year. More
First of all, I fully agree with the other reviews that the experience to buy a new car at the VW Auburn is absolutely great. The big con is actually the service process, customer service team, the profile the experience to buy a new car at the VW Auburn is absolutely great. The big con is actually the service process, customer service team, the profile of service engineers and managers and the culture and mentality of this company. Here some details: I bought a VW Jetta in 2013 and was very happy for the first weeks. As mentioned before, the experience to buy a car there was great. After couple weeks I had noises in the car from a plastic part behind the cockpit. I called VW Auburn service and got prompt an appointment. After I received the car back (two days waiting time) I drove the car couple miles and recognized the same noise. I called again the service person Rod and explained that it seems the issue is still there. I scheduled a second appointment and this time a service engineer drove with me couple miles on the highway and confirmed the noise. Same again, I left the car there, two days later I toke the car back and surprise the same noise was happening immediately after I restarted the engine. This time I wasn't very happy and explained the service staff that the way from Issaquah to Auburn is quite far, so I would appreciate if we can fix that finally. What happened after was that I had anyway the first service appointment (first check up new car) after a month so the service manager promised that it would be fixed next time. Three weeks later I drove the car to VW Auburn and let the car there for two or three days. I received a call and the responsible service engineer mentioned that they had an accident with my car because another service engineer drove into my car and "don't worry" - we will just order two new doors and we fix that. Well, at this time I was very unhappy and contacted my lawyer. Unfortunately I received the information that if the VW dealer is able to fix the doors on their cost and the car is "like" new I would have a hard play to claim something from VW. After a waiting time of 3 weeks! I received the call and "Rod" the service engineer explained in a very unfriendly and unprofessional way that it is kind of difficult to get exactly the right door for the VW Jetta 2012 SE. I was very surprised as I would think this is a standard process and the doors should be very easy to order, paint and put back on the car. It toke in all another 2 to 3 weeks before I got the car back. On the day when I received the car back I had to argue with the service team that I would not pay the rental car that the company organized because it is not my failing that the team needed up to 6 weeks to repair their accident on my car. Almost 1.5 years later (2013) I received a letter that the company would offer me to purchase the car back and to offer a good deal for a new car. After some thoughts I felt that it would be maybe a risk to deal with VW Auburn again but I honestly thought they wouldn't mess it up a second time. I was very interested in the VW Jetta 2013 GLI plus some extras like a protective cover (folia) for the front of the car (value of 900 USD!). Here my experience: to purchase the car was again an exceptional great experience but troubles started when I went to VW Auburn to get my new car: 1. The protective cover wasn't put nicely on the car. The service team washed the car and water was collected under the protective folia. 2. The car wasn't clean - not vacuumed. I called the sales manager because it was close to 6 pm and the service team wasn't available anymore. The sales manager apologized and told me that it is absolutely no problem if I come back and the team will take care of the situation. Well, another time driving to VW Auburn. Couple days later I made the way to Auburn and unfortunately arrived a bit late. The appointment to take the rental car and to give my car to the service person was 5 pm. Unfortunately I arrived at 5.30 but had no waiting time to talk to the person behind the desk. Here the very unfriendly circumstance: The person just said "no, sorry, you are late and we will reschedule the appointment". I explained quite frustrated that I stuck in rush hour and that I only would like to get the rental car and leave my car here. The person was very unfriendly to me and just said: "No, I need more than 15 to 20 minutes for the paper work and I have dinner plans". After I heard that I was very frustrated and explained that I will escalate the situation to the management. After I communicated this I receive the rental car and left VW Auburn. Two days later I received my car back. The protective folia was on the car, everything was fine BUT! the very expensive sport rim was slightly damaged. I called the manager and explained that I think this happened because the service team seems to "do" this with purpose. The sales manager explained that he will talk to the team at the service and I will receive a repaired rim. next appointment is in 2 days and I only hope VW Auburn doesn't mess it up again. More
I went to the dealership trying to get my brakes line fixed because they were cut. It took two weeks to get the parts. The whole time I used a rental car, which he said they would only charge me for two fixed because they were cut. It took two weeks to get the parts. The whole time I used a rental car, which he said they would only charge me for two days because it wasn't suppose to take two weeks. They ordered the wrong parts. When I went to get my car, I found out I was going to be charged for seven days. Then I get my car back and my driver side mirror is broken. Of course they didn't want to fix it because it wasn't them that broke it, but it wasn't broken before that. Finally, my traction control light is on and he is saying that it is the rear brakes are worn, but it wasn't on before I took it in there. I was quoted for 900 for the brake lines, but the total was 1500. The only good thing about this place is the service rentals, which they still screwed me on. DO NOT GO HERE!!! More
After taking my 2008 VW Jetta in to get the key fob programed, I was told that I had the wrong Kind and needed a different one with a different model number. However that did not stop them From char programed, I was told that I had the wrong Kind and needed a different one with a different model number. However that did not stop them From charging $59 for their attempt. I figured that's fair and went back a few weeks later with a different Key fob that they had requested. Left the car there & was told that it was an hour job. A day and half later They finally called to tell us there was a problem. So we went to the service department and were told that They were unable to program this fob as well. So at this point I'm upset because I had done everything that they Had asked me to do, including getting them the exact one that they had asked for. So when I asked if I owed them anything They said that I did. Not only did they want to charge me another $59 for trying to program the fob unsuccessfully, they said That they tried this twice and should charge me for 2(two) programing attempts. Needles to say I am upset and frustrated bby this point. So I asked them how much it would cost to get a key fob from Them & have it programed? $ 190 I was told so I can either pay for 2 failed programing attempts and get nothing and have To start all over again, or pay another $190 and get a working fob. So I grudgingly paid the $190 and the next day it was finally done. So let's see, what should have cost me just a simple $59 programing ended costing almost $500. Two(2) key fobs, two programing fee of $59 each, plus $190 to buy a fob from them and getting it programmed. Needles to say I will never go back to this dealership (for sales, service or parts) ever again. I would also caution others About falling in the same trap as I did. You may want to go to a more reputable VW dealer for your business. Matt Aliabadi More
One of the main reasons I went to Auburn Volkswagen for my new car was the overwhelming recommendations of a friend, who also purchased not one, but two new cars through this dealership.
