We feel we received a very fair price on the car, and are satisfied with the service from the sales side of the deal. Since we approached buying a new van from an informed position, there was very little to talk about once we decided on the model, color, options, etc. We purposefully chose Brilliance for it's reputation on DealerRater.com, and the deal progressed smoothly and rapidly. However, once we were handed over to the business manager, it was the typical experience that everyone wants to avoid, and what makes most people view buying a car with the same anticipation as going to the dentist. We had hoped for better. There was implied pressure to buy extended warranties and when we hesitated and refused we were treated dismissively. It was enough of a negative that we even removed the remote car starter that we had added as part of the final deal. An email to the owner of the company stating how the attitude of the business manager left us cold, and suggesting that they might consider changing the way they present the extended warranty options produced no response. They were very thorough and were quick to help get us in and out of there in a timely manner. I have purchased a number of cars (from various manufacturers) over the years and have helped others purchase cars (and also purchased cars with my father when he was alive). I have seen a great d manufacturers) over the years and have helped others purchase cars (and also purchased cars with my father when he was alive). I have seen a great deal of the bad and the forgettable. But this experience was on the other end of the spectrum. I can confidently state that I have never had a better experience than when I purchased through Brilliance Honda. From the internet sales manager (Bob Daniel) to my salesperson (Robert Calhoun) to the sales manager (John) to the finance manager (John), I was treated respectfully and professionally throughout the process. Everyone did exactly what they said they would do and did so efficiently. When I said "no", there was a sincere attempt to try to convince me through good faith negotiation, but I was not unduly pressured and if I still said "no", we moved on. This experience was admittedly my first attempt at negotiating/closing a car sale using the internet as the primary means of communication/negotiation, but I really cannot think of anything that Brilliance could have done better. The price quoted was the price I found when I arrived - there was no attempt to wring just a little more profit out of me (and how refreshing that was). In the end, I found the best deal at the best dealer and did so without needing to battle my way through endless negotiation while watching my every step (and what a shame to have to say that I was surprised to find myself in that situation). The pricing was excellent and extremely competitive and, given that fact, I even emailed a dealer that had lost out on the deal; not to gloat, but to let them know I was simply disappointed they did not work harder to earn my business. That other dealer spend too much time on trying to convince me that another deal was too good to be true and too little time trying to focus on themselves and simply make the best deal they could. It seems so simple - treat customers with respect, exchange information and follow through on what you say you will do. However, many dealers simply don't seem to understand (or possibly don't want to understand) that customers might actually have some intelligence, know something about a car and research it beforehand, even given the power of the Internet. Brilliance Honda clearly understands what is needed to be successful in this modern world. I wholeheartedly recommend a purchase from this dealership - they certainly earned my business and a strong, positive review. More

We did our research online but, needed to see some cars in person. We focused all our research on the Toyota Camry. We also test drove a Prius and liked it better although it lacked features we desired. We were prepared to spend approximately $25,000. We did not purchase from Elgin Toyota for the following reasons: 1) I found an empty cigarette carton under the driver’s wheel of the Camry we test drove (who smokes “Mavericks”). 2) A second sales person approached me smoking as I looked under the hood of the Camry we test drove. 3) The salesman knew nothing about the vehicle we were driving (hybrid with nav). He suggested I look in the manual to learn to operate the controls. 4) The salesman spent an extended time searching for the Prius keys as we reviewed the Camry. In the meantime, we were out in the cold looking at a car we knew little about and watched someone pull in on the lot driving the Prius. Last time I checked you call ahead and speak with a specific salesman so they have the vehicle(s) ready for you including knowing were the vehicle is, vacuuming, and washing. We left immediately after sitting down at the salesman’s desk. He vanished again. I handed the keys to a porter and we were bitter and thrilled to leave. Then on a family member recommendation, we checked out Brilliance Honda because it was on the way to the next Toyota Dealer. We are not from the area; we have never been to Brilliance Honda or reviewed any Hondas or the Brilliance inventory. We purchased a Certified 2007 Honda Accord Hybrid 67,000 miles (factory remote start, Nav, leather, heated seats, sunroof, all weather mats, spotless and loaded). $15,800 at 2.9% for 5 years. NADA Book Value $17,000. In the era of employees regurgitating what the computer tells them, Max had a detailed response to every question I asked about our Hybrid vehicle purchase. I was impressed with his knowledge of the vehicle I purchased since it was a trade in a few days prior and he had very limited time to review this vehicle before it was sold. Max has a great feel for his customers. He knew when my wife and I needed time to talk. My wife is cheap and I am frugal. We are also extremely patient and will wait until the price is right by any means, even if it means walking away from a deal to save a few bucks. We were treated with respect and comfort. Max cared more that the deal was right for us. This car could have easily sold itself for more money. Instead, Max and Brilliance Honda made us happy and earned our business. Upon reviewing our vehicle we noticed a missing head rest. The dealership’s GM had located the part from the previous owner and had instructed us that the part would be mailed to us before we even left the lot. Max has also guided me through the process to fix an issue with the voice commands for the navigation that is covered under the vehicles extended warranty. We were “upsold” on the warranty $780.00 for 3 years or 33,000 miles (67,000 miles to 100,000 miles) and it has already paid for itself within 2 days after we purchased the vehicle. This feature can also be financed. The dealership was also very transparent about the vehicle’s preparation costs, history, and Kelly Blue Book Value providing us with internal invoices, Car Fax, and a copy of the vehicle’s book value. I would also like to give credit to the finance manager. He was very genuine, honest, and knowledgeable. He also explained the warranty very well and we will already be using it to fix the minor navigation system issue with the voice commands. This is the second vehicle I have purchased. This was a much faster transaction than my first vehicle. More

We didn't barter about the price, even though my husband feels we could have possibly done better at another dealership but he didn't care enough to make the extra effort. Max was earnest in his effort to make us happy with the additional "protection package and key-starter set," offering us big discounts. My husband didn't feel them necessary for the additional cost. We were a fairly easy sell as we had already made our minds up and didn't want the hassle of running around and Max was a friendly, helpful, good salesman. We know from our experience in servicing our previous car that the service department at Brilliance is also very good. Overall it was a very good experience! More
