Overall, I love the people at Brewster Subaru! I’ve had many good experiences there, with Rich (finance) Mitch (sales) Nelson (GM), Patrick (mgr) Danny (service) Jack (service) and many others! They are helpful, and make the car buying experience great… I haven’t had the best luck with my car though. I had purchased a 2016 Crosstrek at Brewster, that I ended up trading in to get a CPO 2020 Legacy, Mag grey VIN 4S3BWAN6XL3027154 on 2/1/22. I have NEVER had so many ongoing issues with any vehicle ever like this, especially one that was 2 years old!!!!! January 2023, it started to give me issues, random not starting, leaving me stranded to wait for roadside assistance, driver focus would constantly alert me to stay alert even when I was seated in a parking lot with the car on, keep my eyes on the road, hands on the steering wheel, if I was heading one direction the speed limit signs would say 35mph, opposite direction 55mph. It spent WEEKS in the shop at Brewster in January, February, March, April and August 2024. I had contacted Subaru corporate in August they were incredibly not helpful told me to contact the NYS Attorney General… At my end, and after 9 weeks of them unable to “duplicate the problem” I was given an opportunity to have the dealer buy back my Legacy. I went and finalized the paperwork on 9/26/24, and this particular vehicle is now for sale in their lot! 🚨Be aware!🚨 The car is 4 years old, not even 90,000 miles on it! I had high hopes that it wouldn’t be resold… I didn’t have buyers remorse after 11 months! That car had everything I wanted in it! Unfortunately, it was VERY UNRELIABLE, my car shouldn’t leave me stranded when I drive into town! More

Deceptive up selling by the service dept. I was told my brakes were in need of immediate attention , 1mm left in the rear and 2mm in the front. Yes they sent 2 pics but after seeing my ac I was told my brakes were in need of immediate attention , 1mm left in the rear and 2mm in the front. Yes they sent 2 pics but after seeing my actual brakes I question if the pics were really from my car . I went to a Pvt mechanic and the brakes are 3mm and 4mm, (I have the old brakes )so yes needed to be watched but not immediately for almost 1200.00. I did speak to the Service Manager John who was very nice, he listened to me but no real response or reason for this and never asked to see the brakes, video etc ( the video is if my actual brakes on my car and measured while still on the car),which made me feel I was right about the deception and I felt I needed to put the review here . More

Love this place…I like Mitch. .Danny because I feel comfortable with them! For me I feel respect From them! If I didn’t I would go elsewhere! We purchased a used Subaru from them in March, and as much as we tried to learn everything about the condition of the car, we never turned on the ai We purchased a used Subaru from them in March, and as much as we tried to learn everything about the condition of the car, we never turned on the air conditioner. Now that the warm weather has started, we found that the A/C did not blow cold. We took it in hoping the A/C just needed a charge, but turns out the compressor was bad and needed replacing. Despite being nearly three months since we bought the car, they agreed to replace it free of charge. I have had nothing but great experiences with this dealer, from my salesperson Roy to everyone I have dealt with in the service department. They "do what they say they are going to do", which is rare in this business. More
We left our car there for the day to diagnose a problem. We had to call at the end of the day to find out that they hadn't looked at it yet. Same thing the second day. At the end of the THIRD day Brewster Subaru had the car, we called and got an estimate for thousands of dollars in work to rebuild the engine, among other recommendations. We told Danny that we would hold off. (It's an older vehicle and we wanted time to consider whether to invest that much into the vehicle.) When we picked up the car, the service tech, Danny Gomes, literally tossed the bill at me across the counter. He was clearly upset that we weren't having the recommended work done. We were upset that we had to leave and do without the car for three days just to get an estimate. Between receiving the emailed estimate and picking up the car, the oil change had more than doubled in price. We'll never go back to Brewster Subaru. More

On a Saturday evening my 2019 Subaru Legacy was in an accident, that at first glance required mostly mechanical work with some bodywork. I hit a boulder with the passenger tire & rim. I notified my insur accident, that at first glance required mostly mechanical work with some bodywork. I hit a boulder with the passenger tire & rim. I notified my insurance and had the car towed to Brewster Subaru after hours and left a detailed note with all my insurance and personal info. On Monday, Danny contacted and me became my contact point between my insurance company and myself. He had the car checked for frame damage and persuaded the insurance rep to see the car in person as he felt a "zoom" estimate would not show the extent of the damage. The insurance company agreed with Subaru's damage assessment and Subaru completed the work on my car in an expeditious manner. Apparently Brewster Subaru works hand in hand with Lisis autobody, a Subaru approved collision business and they took care of the bodywork. My insurance company paid Subaru directly, leaving me to pay only my deductible. Brewster Subaru would not typically be one's first choice to fix your car in an accident but they will going forward. They did excellent work in repairing the car while handling all of the insurance issues. More
