Hello, my name is Douglas Lucas, and I am the Customer Relations Manager at McKinney Volkswagen. I just read your review on DealerRater.com. We are committed to providing high quality customer service, but based on your review, you did not share that experience. That is very disappointing to us. I understand you scheduled an appointment for a test drive two days after your initial contact on the one Jetta TDI we had in stock at the time. That Jetta was in the body shop and would not be available on our lot until the following Wednesday afternoon. Another customer came in the following evening and purchased it sight unseen after given the same explanation of availability (not until Wednesday afternoon) provided to you. I can appreciate you wanted to have the opportunity to test drive the vehicle before purchasing (I would want that myself). This other customer did not want to wait to test drive the car before purchasing; that is their right and their decision. So, the car was never actually available for a test drive. It was only at the dealership long enough to be given to its new owner. I am glad you contacted us in the morning before coming to our dealership to verify its availability. I would like to know how you were treated in that conversation. I hope it was with the respect we seek to provide all of our customers. As a business, we strive to meet the requests of our customers. Unfortunately, sometimes the requests of multiple customers do not mesh with each other. We wanted to provide you the opportunity to drive the car before making a final purchase decision. But we also wanted to provide the other customer the opportunity to purchase the car under their terms - at that moment, before the car was available to drive. I do truly apologize for the inconvenience and for the miscommunication. We wish we had more Jetta TDI's available, but with gas prices being so high lately, TDI's are rare right now, and they are sold as quickly as we get them. We would be happy to provide the opportunity for you to drive a Jetta TDI now that we have them available. If that would be acceptable, please let me know, so I may arrange a test drive for you.
