Hello, my name is Douglas Lucas, and I am the Customer Relations Manager for McKinney Volkswagen. We are committed to providing high quality customer service, but based on your DealerRater.com review, you did not share that experience. That is very disappointing to us. I reviewed your file and the situation from last October. I see we had a deposit and a pending deal with another customer on the 2005 Honda Civic you were interested in on Friday, October 1st. You came in and put down a deposit on a backup deal on that same car on Monday, October 4th. We took your backup deal because there was a potential problem with the first deal, although that customer had the rights of first refusal on the car. The other customer ended up purchasing the car on Thursday, October 7th. And we contacted you the following morning to let you know the car was sold. There was obviously a breakdown in communication. I apologize the situation was not properly communicated to you - the deal made with you was contingent upon the first deal not consummating. A back up deal is created when there is doubt about the finality of an initial deal and a second customer is willing to wait a few days to see if a car becomes available. In fairness to all, we have to give the initial customer a reasonable allowance to complete an agreed upon transaction. If you are still in the market for a used car, I would be happy to assist you in seeking out a car that would meet your needs. Let me know if you would be interested.
