Overcharged hours for service I took my car to Bowman for repairs that were covered by warranty. I told them to proceed with the repair, and they called me an hour later to inform me that the repairs were completed. When I went to pick up the car, they charged me for 2 hours of labor, even though it had only been an hour since I told them to make the repair. I checked with GM and verified that this repair should only have taken 24 minutes to complete. The only thing the service manager offered was $50 off their overpriced detail, when they should be refunding me $150. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. The only reason I went to Bowman in the first place is that I thought all the costs would be covered by warranty. I say this because I took another vehicle there a few years ago. They quoted me hundreds of dollars (around $600 I believe) to remove all the transmission lines and replace them. I took it to AC Tire for a second opinion. They found a loose nut and tightened it at no charge. I never had an issue over years of driving after the nut was tightened. More

Horrible follow up and service. Go somewhere else and don't waste your time here, especially if it is your only car because they do not have many loaners. More
Not impressed. I was left waiting 2 hours... no one came to update me on the progress of my vehicle, but I assumed they were working on it. I eventually had to find someone to speak to in the service department for an update, only to find out that they didn't even have the part for my common repair. When did they know this? It took two hours after my scheduled appointment to inform me that they weren't working on my car at all that day? Considering the circumstances, one would expect immediate service the next day. Nope. No call. I needed to track them down for information again. When I did, they didn't guarantee my car until the end of the day (6PM). I didn't realize it takes 9 hours to change a light bulb. ugh - try somewhere else My wife hit a deer and had her car sent to Bowman for service. It took 3 weeks to fix a front right quarter panel and a windshield. The paint didn't exactly match, and there was small glass shards still on the front seat from the windshield. My wife actually cut herself one morning by wiping her seat off for our daughter. It seems like if they give you a loaner, then they take forever, and make you feel like you are being rude for asking for your car back. They were polite, but the quality and timeliness of the work wasn't acceptable. Don't use the body shop here... find another dealer or private body shop. More

Overall sales experience was great! We had our 2008 Saturn Vue for only two days and all if a sudden the cruise control stopped working and at the same time 2 traction control warning lights and a TPS Saturn Vue for only two days and all if a sudden the cruise control stopped working and at the same time 2 traction control warning lights and a TPS light came on. I took the Vue straight to John Bowman Chevrolet @ 4:30pm and Brian Burke (used car sales manager) took me straight to the Service department and had someone check out the vehicle. Bad news first: The mechanic that looked at it told Brian that there was a switch that needed to be replaced and they would need to keep the vehicle until Monday (for saftey reasons) so Brain set it up for me to get a loaner car for the weekend. Here's the bad news: Apparently the mechanic was going on vacaiton the next day and he did not write any notes down regarding what type of switch they needed and he cleared out all the error codes. So the service department had to duplicate the errors (needless to say it took an extra 2 days for the codes to error out again (typical thing that seems to happen when you take a vehicle into the shop), for some reason cars don't like to co-operate when you take them in for service. GREAT NEWS: Ron the service manager ended up taking the Suv home on Tuesday night to try to duplicate the errors and he actually did, he hooked it up to the computer and found the switch that needed to be replaced, Wednesday morning picked up the part, installed it and tested. Brian and Ron did a great job and to top it all off they had Al (another nice person) washed, filled up our gas tank & drove our Vue to my work (a half hour away!) to swap cars with me. A nice added touch, Brian also gave us a $50 gas card for our inconveince. I have to tell you my wife and I have had horrible experiences with other dealerships in the past ranging from sales to service. Brian has made us customers for life; wether it is service for BOTH of our GM vehicles or puchase of new/used vehicles. More
The service department is great!!! They are very friendly and go the extra mile to make sure you are taken care of and satisfied!!!! I have nothing but the best experience with this dealership. Best service and people in oakland county. I have been buying and leasing vehicles from Bowman for 16 years. When I lived in Indianapolis In. During a heavy rain my trunk filed with at least 4" of water. Over a time spand of 18 hours I called the service dept THREE times. They said they didn't know how to FIX it nor ever heard of such a problem water. Over a time spand of 18 hours I called the service dept THREE times. They said they didn't know how to FIX it nor ever heard of such a problem. I specifically asked Bowman to contact regional resources to see what they advise. The service employee refused and just laughed like the problem was a funny funny joke. When I asked to be connected with his supervisor the supervisor even became angry I would question him or crew. After I cleaned out water myself discovered a plug in the wheel well for draining trunk water. I was horrified Bowman's not only lack of commom knowledge of the car - surely they must of noticed the plug before but their conduct. They made no effort to be polite. I have since learned other people in my community have reported similar rudeness and indifference. Those boys have serious "issues". More
