Driving and my check engine light goes on and the transmission starts slipping. I happen to live about 10 minutes away, and actually work right across the street. Having had continuous problems I was pretty sure I needed another transmission control module and drove straight to the dealer. Lady at the desk said they could look at it maybe Friday. I asked her to ask the boss if there was anyway to squeeze it in. He said nope. Asked for a loaner. Also nope. Please is there anything you can do, as a single mom I need a car? Nope. We have piano lessons today, basketball games at the courts in valpo tonight, but they couldn't have cared less. Is there someone who can drive me home at least? Sure, in an hour. So I have time to write up reviews. Have taken my car to the Valparaiso and Merrillville locations to avoid problems here. Wish our local dealer was more reliable. More

Service department lies Had appointment scheduled for recall to be fixed. I received a call that the parts weren't in, so I canceled the appointment. They clearly lied about having the parts, so we went to another dealership to get it fixed and couldn't be happier! More

No car dealer can be perfect, but Lakeshore comes close I have bought three Toyotas from Lakeshore in 7 years now. Will I go back again? Yes, but I always go to more than one dealership when shopping new.. You're not shopping unless you do. This recent purchase was the result of Mr. Mark Ramirez's extra effort. I was looking for a rather specific used Toyota suitable for towing a 3000 lb. RV trailer around the U.S. for a couple of years. My main requisite - Toyota w/V8 engine. I could not stay long and talk with Mark that day, and so when he was called away I left a short note on his desk with my info. Few models of Toyota have the option of a V8. I did not expect a response from Mark. But it was less than a month later when I got his call to thank ME for the note. Actually he was calling because he thought I would be interested in a Tundra they had taken in on trade. We were able to come to terms, but as with any car dealer you should always haggle to get near your own deal as you can before deciding to buy or not to buy. In this particular situation I did go higher than I wanted because of the quality of the Tundra, and of course Mark's efforts. Thank YOU, Mark and all the other great people at Lakeshore Ford/Toyota. Your service dept. is also very very good. More

Lakeshore was once a decent dealer ship. Stop in Lake shore see if you see any of the old staff there. Employees are leaving faster than the cars. They sold me two lemons in a row this year. After the first one they have to trade me for a better one but gave me $2000 left for the car I just bought. Stay away!!! When they went to sell me a third car to try to make the second bad deal right again $2000 less than I paid for and the financing was out rages. More

The most important part of the buying, to me, is customer service and I must say that my salesman Jim Apostol did a wonderful job. He sells in the same manner I sell, low pressure and informative. I did not want to deal with high pressure, pushy sales people and Jim was never that way. He took care of everything I needed during and after the sale and I am very happy with the whole process.
