Oil Change Reminder My oil change reminder popped up when my mileage crossed 7,500, although I had my oil changed at the 5,000 mile point, and the reminder setting was se My oil change reminder popped up when my mileage crossed 7,500, although I had my oil changed at the 5,000 mile point, and the reminder setting was set for 10,000 miles. I called Wes Lyons in the service department, and he walked me through the process of resetting the reminder, however the car's system still did not erase the dashboard reminder. When in the area, I stopped by the dealership to have my car re-checked, and it was determined that my software needed to be updated. Wes immediately resolved the issue by having the software updated, and I was on my way. More

Before Mazda I always owned Toyota and regular oil changes were $22.00 each time and 7,000 miles per dealership recommendations for non-synthetic oil changes. The one negative for Mazda is $80.00 for a oil change is outrageous! 4 times what I had been paying. And with synthetic oil cars can go longer between oil changes. I'm told every 5,000 miles now by Mazda dealership, which is way too often. 7,000+ miles is considered normal for synthetic. I feel this dealership is padding their service department and gouging the customer on price of service. Though synthetic is more expensive to change, it should translate into less frequent oil changes. Service staff were excellent, and Wesley is very friendly and helpful. More
