We bought a car from him and then we're pressured by him and his associates to return it 2 weeks later. They stated that they gave us too much for our trade. They threatened police reports and also showed up to our house unannounced with our old car. We finally had to get a lawyer. The harassment then stopped. Have bought many cars over my lifetime. Never had such a horrible experience. Was worried my husband was going to have a heart attack as the harassment of this dealership was immoral. More

Asked for him and explained my wife was interested in looking at new suburban in Diamond White. He offered test drive and my wife liked all the new options. Advised Casey we would be back on another day as we were not ready to purchase at this time, as we were waiting on sale of our other vehicle. Casey said why not talk about price and we can hold the new vehicle. We were able to come to terms on New one and price. Gave him 100.00 down and he held the vehicle until the sale of our other vehicle completed. Could not have been nicer and more accommodating. Picked up new vehicle few days later, This was our 2nd purchase from Casey and your dealership. Went to finance person Chris Rackley and he was just as accommodating. Employees like this are an asset to your Dealership. Will recommend to anyone interested in new vehicle. Thank You More

Incompetent, terrible service department Had the 2011 Chevy cruze in for it's 5th recall in 2 years. Not a big deal, but the heater hoses needed to be replaced (45k miles, mind you). Total, it should have taken 2 hours between the recall and the re-hose. Every day for the next week we called the advisor, Cheryl, between 5 and 6 times. No answer, no return call. Finally after a week of calling with no response, we get a text saying the car is done, but they won't be covering the rental. Overall they screwed us out of $500 and Cheryl was nowhere to be found when we arrived at the dealership. Dishonest, unprofessional, scamming, 2nd rate "dealership." I will drive an extra 50 miles to go anywhere else. More

Waited forever After making an appointment with the salesman I waited for a long time, as he was with another customer when I arrived. Salesman came back and I told him I was interested and was looking at several cars that day so wanted to talk price. After they assessed my trade I met with the salesman and we talked price. He wanted to know what I'd trade for right then. I balked as I had just started looking and didn't really know. After he asked me several more times I gave him a low price. After continuing to wait for a price on my trade I finally told him I needed to go and he said he would call me. I went to 3 other dealers in the St. Louis area that day and never waited like I did at Bommarito. I got competitive prices from these dealers and ended up making a deal on the vehicle I liked the most. I never heard from the salesman at Bommarito. Needless to say, I won't bother the folks at Bommarito the next time I want a vehicle. More

The epitome of why car salesmen have a bad name Complaint against Bommarito Chevrolet South in St Louis, MO: Beginning on Friday December 26, 2014, I spoke with a salesman whose name I will protect Complaint against Bommarito Chevrolet South in St Louis, MO: Beginning on Friday December 26, 2014, I spoke with a salesman whose name I will protect (because I don’t believe he was “in on it”, let’s call him Salesman #1), about a car that Bommarito had advertised on the internet (a 2014 Chevrolet Volt – VIN: 1G1RD6E42EU140005 Stock: 34575). I told him that I liked the car and I liked the price as advertised on the internet. I told him that I would buy the car for $35,000 drive out price, including all taxes and fees. He said the he would talk to his boss, Jeff Herbert, and would call me back. He called me back and said that his boss said that they could do that. This process of returning calls took about 2 days to complete. He said that the next step would be to fill out a credit application online. After I had filled out a fairly extensive credit application and they ran a report on my credit, another salesman/floor manager named Justin Lenhard called me. Justin said that my credit was good so there should be no problem. He then asked if I was buying the car for $36,600 (without taxes). I told him no and that I had already been discussing this with Salesman #1 for two days and that Salesman #1 had gotten approval from his boss for a deal of $35,000 out-the-door. Jeff then informed me that it would be impossible and said he needed to talk to Salesman #1 and Jeff. They then called me back and explained to me that Salesman #1 and Jeff (the boss) had mistakenly been talking about two different cars and that they could not sell the car to me at the price we had agreed to. I was disappointed in this because I had already taken up a lot of time working out this deal and had begun to make plans to make the trip to St Louis from my home in central Georgia. I also had taken the time to fill out an extensive credit application and my credit had already been run by them which could then negatively affect my credit score by causing a time limit on how long I would have to finish the car shopping and buying process (see this information on Experian website) or else other credit applications with other dealers would subsequently hurt my credit score. So, I began to try to figure out other car buying options with other dealers near my home. The lowest I found for the same car (same color, options, etc) was $36,800 drive out price at 5-star Chevrolet in Warner Robbins, GA (about 50 miles from my home). Justin Lenhard then called me on Monday morning and said, “Sir, we are going to sell you the original car you wanted at the price you originally agreed to, no BS”. I considered this to be great news. I continued to talk to Justin that day to make sure everything was understood and that I would be paying a drive-out price of $35,000 for the vehicle described above. Justin was insistent that this was truly the case. So, I bought a one-way plane ticket with Delta Airlines for roughly $420 from Atlanta to St Louis. I also paid my brother-in-law $100 to drive me to the Atlanta airport which is approximately 120 miles from my house. I woke up at 4:30 AM to make the flight which left at 8:15 AM and arrived in St Louis at 9:06 AM. I arrived at the Bommarito dealership around 9:50 AM. After taking a test drive in the car and being shown many things about the car by Justin and Salesman #1, Justin took me into his office and put a paper in front of me to sign the deal. I noticed at the top that it said something about “Lease-Buyers Order”, although on the paper it has written “Sale Price $35,500 …”. So, I asked Justin about it. Justin said, “You will be buying the car”. I inquired further, and he said, “Well technically you will be leasing it for 3 years and then buying it, but it will come out to the $35,000 that you wanted”. I then responded to him that the whole reason I was buying the car was because of the tax incentives - $7500 federal tax credit – which is only good on a purchase not on a lease. The word “lease” was never even mentioned or thought about up until he put that paper in front of me to sign. He then said that he needed to go talk to his manager. He came back about 20 minutes later and said that $36,666 before tax was the best they could do on the car. I told him that this was awful and the worst-case scenario of what could’ve happened to me. I asked him how he could’ve never mentioned to me about this being a lease rather than a purchase. I asked him how he could bring me up there almost 700 miles and a $420 plane ticket based on what he knew was false pretenses. He went back “to talk to the manager (Jeff)” several times, leaving me in the office for 20-45 minutes at a time, and each time said, “That’s best we can do on that car. Let me show you a different car that you can get for $35,000.” After 2 hours of this, I said that I wanted to talk to the owner and/or the manager. So, he went back again, and came back 20 minutes later and said that the manager, Jeff would not talk to me and that he doesn’t talk to customers and that they will take me back to the airport. I continued to insist on talking to the manager, and they continued to insist that he would not talk to me. Finally, I went to find manager Jeff myself. I found Jeff and asked him if he was the manager and told him that I needed to speak with him. I reiterated to him everything that had happened from the beginning. He said, “Yes, that’s terrible. How can I make this right today?” I explained to him again what we had agreed to and that he should honor what I had been told and based my decision on to make the trip up there. He leaves and says, “Sure, let me see what we can do.” He returned 30 minutes later and said that the best he could do is $37,400 with taxes. I told him that I had a better deal than that 50 miles from my house and had purchased a $420 plane ticket to come up there based on what his salesman told me, so that was unacceptable. He left again to supposedly talk to a lady who is a district manager or something of that nature who was located in Detroit at the time. He came back one hour later and said that she gave him a code for a “private offer” and said that now the best he can do is $36,800 with taxes and then says that he will make sure I get the best finance rate at 1% or barely over and that he will try to make it up by giving free oil changes and tire rotations for an extra 2 years (although the volt rarely needs oil changes). At that point, I was considering my options and did not want to have to buy another $420 plane ticket and have to ask (and probably pay) someone else to come back and pick me up at the airport. It was also around 2:30 PM at that time and it would be about a 10-hour drive home, so I reluctantly agreed. Then I talked to two different finance guys. The first one came in 30 minutes later and told me the best rate they could do was over 2%. The second one came in after another hour and said that they made a mistake in calculating the taxes, that the taxes will be about $1200 more than what they thought, and that the actual drive-out price would be $38,000 (an additional $1200 on top of the $1800 more than the original agreement). It was 4:30 PM at that point, and I had come to the end of my rope. I told them I was done with them and that I would just have to buy another plane ticket and go home. And, that’s what I did. I bought another $420 plane ticket which left at 6:26 PM and arrived in Atlanta at 9:30. I then paid my brother-in-law $50 more dollars to drive 3 more hours to pick me up at the airport and arrived back at my house at 12 AM. I am beyond irate about this experience and feel that I was cheated, lied to, disrespected, manipulated, and humiliated. I am sure that my blood pressure was on a roller coaster for the 6 ½ hours that I spent there. I could feel myself shaking because I was so upset for much of that time. I couldn’t eat anything the entire day because my stomach was in knots. I was never ugly, never raised my voice, never used profanity or anything of the sort to anyone at this crooked dealership. It seemed to me that Salesman #1 was never really in on this underhandedness, as he was new to the job and told me himself that he had never seen anything like this and was shocked by it all. He also told me in private that he would be seeking new employment after seeing the way the people there do business. Justin and Jeff are crooked, manipulative liars, and I wouldn’t want my worst enemy to have to have any dealings with them. At this point my hope is that the Bommarito dealership and also the Chevrolet Company are not a part of this culture of dishonesty. I would hope that General Motors would train their personnel to put integrity and the value of its reputation above a sale. Update: I called Bommarito a few days ago and asked to speak with Salesman #1. The receptionist said, “He no longer works here.” Update 2: I filed a complaint with the BBB in St Louis and with Chevrolet. As expected, the Bommarito guys lied about what happened, so nothing will be done about it. I also filed a complaint with the Office of Consumer Affairs and Protection and have yet to hear back. My daughters car was stolen and totaled, little did I know that the theft would be less traumatic than purchasing a new vehicle. This is the fifth new car that we have purchased in the last seven years s know that the theft would be less traumatic than purchasing a new vehicle. This is the fifth new car that we have purchased in the last seven years so I am not new to the experience. The way that your salesman negotiated the car price was underhanded at best and in my opinion dishonest. The list price on the car sticker was $18.860. On the Internet (same vin) it was listed for $15,860. with trade in ( which we obviously didn't have) and a$1000. manufacturers offer. So it was close to our target price. When we sat down to talk price he wrote the sticker price of $18.860 on the top of the page then asked us what it would take for us to sign that day. We told him our price would be $17,000. He then drew an arrow down to the bottom of the page and wrote that number down. He then proceeded to ask us what we wanted our monthly payments to be. We told him that she was a full time college student and the most we could all do was $300./month. He replied, what about $350.? I told him that would be stretching it. He then wrote $350. Down at the bottom left hand corner of the page. He told us he had to check with his boss. When he returned he said " my boss said that seems fair and doable." He drew an x with a line next to it under the $17,000. and asked us to sign our names. Silly me, I thought that meant that was the agreed upon price but no. When we went to sign the final papers the actual cost of the vehicle had jumped to$19,785. Before the extended contracts. When we obviously questioned the price we were told that the added cost was for the paint and interior sealants...which we never agreed to..and that he had negotiated on the monthly payment amount of $350. Not the car price. By this time I was ready to hand the keys back and tear up my down payment check but my daughter loved the car and my husband is a nicer person than I am. We were there for 5 hours and my daughter was already late for work so we did settle on a price which I still was not happy with. I truly wish I had left but by then we had invested so much time and energy I truly didn't feel like starting over again. So when all is said and done we love the car but won't be purchasing from this dealership again. More
