Great Experience I visited Bob Tyler Toyota last Friday hoping to look at a Toyota Tacoma and was greeted by salesman Shawn Eidson. I told him what I was looking for I visited Bob Tyler Toyota last Friday hoping to look at a Toyota Tacoma and was greeted by salesman Shawn Eidson. I told him what I was looking for and he immediately told me about three Tacomas they had with details on all three. He was very knowledgable about their inventory. We then walked the lot to look at the Tacomas and found one that was the color and price range I was looking for. We test drove it and decided to sit down and talk numbers. He wasn't at all pushy and made me feel very comfortable. Shawn and Sales Manager Sarah Chapman worked with me tirelessly to get the price to a place that worked for me. Once we agreed I was taken over to Finance Manager Chris Woods. I went in hoping to keep my payment down as low as possible and wasn't looking to add anything else. Our meeting was short and sweet. He obviously knew his stuff. He began to explain all of the available warranties he could offer me. I was skeptical at first but he was able to find an interest rate 2 points lower than my long time Credit union! And kept my monthly payments lower than they would've been with my bank, even though I added every warranty available! Needless to say I was extremely satisfied with my experience at Bob Tyler Toyota and would strongly recommend visiting this dealership. More
price changer I was interested in a vehicle they had listed online. So, I emailed them for their rock bottom price. Their rock bottom price was almost $1000 more I was interested in a vehicle they had listed online. So, I emailed them for their rock bottom price. Their rock bottom price was almost $1000 more than the advertised price. Since I was from out of state, they adjusted the price again because of sales tax. In less than 24 hrs on the day I decided to take a test drive I looked on the internet and there was the same car advertised at $334 less than the deal they had just quoted me. I emailed them once again and asked about it and was told the manager had stepped in and lowered the price. But, noone had informed me about the price drop. They are not willing to negotiate at all. What ever price they have advertised just add about $1000 to it and check the local listings before you buy. I would recommend you take your business elsewhere to a more competent dealer. More

This decision was made after looking at and test driving several new vehicles. Shortly after shopping, i decided that Toyota was the way to go. After testing the Camry Hybrid, Camry and corolla, i decided that the corolla really did what i needed it to do and a a price i liked. Jared, my sales person did a great job of telling me the differences between the cars and models. His customer service was by the far the best i have seen in the past 3 months of car shopping. I traded in my Suv, and got a great value for it, and with the help of Mrs. Sarah and Jared i was able to get the car i wanted at a price that fit my budget.Mr Genest was also very knowledgeable with my questions in regards to insurance and other financial questions i had. I really appreciate the way that Bob Tyler's team handled the purchase of my new vehicle. More
Amazing sales staff! I started my vehicle search like most do, the internet. I was responded to quickly by Jenny McQuaig and set an appointment for my Lexus test drive. Up I started my vehicle search like most do, the internet. I was responded to quickly by Jenny McQuaig and set an appointment for my Lexus test drive. Upon arrival I was warmly greeted by her and her manager Ken. The Lexus I wanted to test drive was already pulled to the front with my sales person Tony Teschel ready to go. Because Jenny had worked out the details of pricing prior to my arrival, the transaction was seamless. I was even able to fit an extended maintenance package with Kim in finance. This was the easiest car buying experience I've ever had. More

A Good Experience at First I decided I wanted to check out this dealership since it was right down the street from where I live. They are involved in the USAA buying program so I decided I wanted to check out this dealership since it was right down the street from where I live. They are involved in the USAA buying program so I got a price certificate from USAA and headed in to take a look at some cars. I walked in and met Bob Fite who greeted me and asked me about the kind of car I was interested in. He was super cool and even though I hadn't called ahead or anything he took me out, showed me a Corolla, and even let me test drive it. He was able to answer all the questions I had and made me feel really comfortable about the car. We move into the dealership to talk about pricing and this is where things start to go bad. I will admit right now that I should have shown him the USAA certificate first thing, but this was my first time buying a car in 10 years and the very first time using this program - so I had no idea what I was doing. The initial price he gave me was something really ridiculous, like in the 20k range. I showed him the email I got from Bob Tyler Toyota on my phone and he took it and disappeared into the back. I sat there for a while assuming they were talking about the price I was quoted from the USAA car buying service. I figured I had done something wrong. Well, when Bob came back he was with Michael Campbell. Michael proceeded to tell me that the estimated car wasn't on the lot and was a "Corolla LL." I was a little skeptical, as I had read up on the Corolla and had only seen the 'L' model, not this 'LL' model. Now, if he meant a car that had some options removed that is much different than a model called the 'LL.' But, hey, I'm not a car guy, so I listen anyway. Michael starts in trying to match the estimated price (by the way, when I built the car on USAA it was for an 'L') by throwing out that they can get me a college graduate discount. Ok, that's great. The downside is I have to switch over to Toyota financing. I thought I was pretty clear when I mentioned that the reason I was going with USAA in the first place was to take advantage of their buying program special APR, but Michael tried to talk me out of it anyway. C'mon man, no way you're beating 0.59APR for the first 36 months. It's just not feasible. At this point I was feeling pretty uneasy about the whole thing. In Bob's defense he just kind of watched, so Bob, I don't blame you for my bad experience. I declined everything and before I left Michael let me know they weren't trying to be pushy or anything. Well, you know Michael, in my experience if you have to say something like that then you're probably doing it. I guess my facial expressions gave away how skeptical I was about the whole thing. Anyway, I walked out and didn't go back. I ended up getting my car from another dealer. I will say this in case Bob Tyler Toyota is reading it: the most important thing in business is building trust and community. Yes, you need to make a profit, but earning a person's trust is an absolute must. When someone feels comfortable around you they become more open - more willing to spend their money. I could have easily purchased the car that day, but the over-aggressive push on Toyota financing pushed me away because it's not what I wanted. Building community is going to have to be Bob Tyler's biggest goal if it wants to push that 7.5 million dollar lawsuit into the background and start anew. More

I spoke to Jaime Rivera who told me to come on by today, if I had the time. I arrived at the dealership and was greeted by Robert, a gentleman whose last name I did not get. Told him of my situation and he said to go inside and pay for the bulb. I was inside for a couple of minutes with a couple of people in front of me. After a very small wait, I paid for my bulb and returned to my Highlander. Robert had changed the bulb! It actually took longer to pay for the bulb than to get the bulb changed! I was totally impressed! Thanks Mr. Tyler, for having your employees take the time to provide great service on such a small issue! More
I will never again consider purchasing a vehicle from this dealership. Unfortunately, a man who prides himself on military service and flying the American flag doesn’t pass morals to his sales teams. Pos this dealership. Unfortunately, a man who prides himself on military service and flying the American flag doesn’t pass morals to his sales teams. Positives: Amanda Harris with internet sales is professional and honest in her job. After using USAA pricing service, wife and I went into dealership and spoke with salesman Tony. I specifically told him I didn’t want to provide privacy information but he said the sales department would only do a snapshot on my credit (soft inquiry). I was very adamant that I didn’t want my credit pulled as I don’t want a credit hit and credit score drop for two years on my credit if I decide not to buy. Bottom line, Tony lied and we took a credit hit that will last two years. Upon verifying a hard inquiry with Equifax (both wife and I took hit) I asked the Sales Manager Michael, about this and after he denied it was a hard inquiry he then back stepped and said that we signed the paperwork and provided the PPI and bottom line shame on us. The man has no place in management. I have since notified Toyota Customer Care and filed a complaint and will do everything in my power to educate others about this un-ethical approach to selling a car. No, it’s not illegal as I provided the PPI but it’s not the way of doing business. This almost validates why Eastern Shore Toyota won a multi-million dollar settlement with this dealership. If you have your own financing, not doing a trade, and are using a service that provides bottom line pricing save yourself a drive and use Bob Tyler. If you need financing, are trading in a vehicle, or negotiating the price, drive further and don’t blame me when you find yourself writing a negative review? More
This dealership is very dishonest and practices yo yo financing scams. I had to go back to the dealership a few times because of the PAL I had did not go through because of the negative equity and the de financing scams. I had to go back to the dealership a few times because of the PAL I had did not go through because of the negative equity and the dealership nor the loan company pointed this out. I originally had went to the dealership to go buy a used car and the dealership ended up selling me a car for $5,000 more than what the car was worth. They also ended up selling my car that I traded in for 6,000 more than what they gave me for the car. Please steer clear of this dealership! -------------UPDATE 01/06/2014-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Today the issue was resolved after talking to the Used Car sales department manager, Sarah Chapman. This showed that this dealership is willing to ensure that its customers have a great overall experience. I really appreciate the willingness of the dealership to have great customer service. I look forward to the possibility of doing business with them in the future. More
