My most recent visit to Bob Smith Mini (BSM) was for a routine oil/filter change. All went well as have all my service dealings with BSM. We purchased our 2005 Mini Cooper Convertable from BSM in the Fal routine oil/filter change. All went well as have all my service dealings with BSM. We purchased our 2005 Mini Cooper Convertable from BSM in the Fall of 2004 via factory order and took delivery about ten weeks later. With the exception of a battery replacement (done under waranty at Pleasanton Mini) BSM has been the sole service provider for our Mini. The fees are pricy (most main dealers are) but the work is done right the first time. In light of the foregoing, I would not hesitate to recommend Bob Smith Mini to a friend. More
This dealership is about the most arrogant that I have ever experienced. I expect to have a positive relationship with auto dealers when I visit, particularly when I expect to close a deal. Not only did ever experienced. I expect to have a positive relationship with auto dealers when I visit, particularly when I expect to close a deal. Not only did they fail to honor the deal that they documented in writing, the sales manager alleged that there was a mis-communication...ON PAPER? NOT. I would never consider returning to this dealership nor would I steer anyone to a place with such a low degree of ethical behavior. More
They damaged my car and tried to blame me for it. I felt the experience was extremely frustrating. I don't think I could trust them again to do work on my car. the experience was extremely frustrating. I don't think I could trust them again to do work on my car. More
We have had the check engine light turn on three times now and every time they find a very expensive different solution. One time it took them two days to identify the problem. I am hoping that this tim now and every time they find a very expensive different solution. One time it took them two days to identify the problem. I am hoping that this time the problem gets fixed. Hoping is not a very good way to feel when you leave the dealership after service. They don't seem to care unless you complain. More
Honest dealer! I have a friend in Mini in NY and I always run everything by her before having any work done on my car. I have never felt pressured into doing any service at this dealership, and they have alw run everything by her before having any work done on my car. I have never felt pressured into doing any service at this dealership, and they have always checked out my car very thoroughly. I bought my first mini from them, (and my 2nd from Universal., which was the worst experience ever! )I take my car only to Bob Smith. The service people, Sue, Christina, Aiisha, are very friendly and knowledgeable. When I get my next Min, I'm going to only buy from Bob Smith. More
Bought my first MINI Cooper from Kirsten Lobetta at Bob Smith MINI and had the best car buying experience I've ever had. That's saying a lot, because I have purchased at least a dozen new cars. Kirsten was Smith MINI and had the best car buying experience I've ever had. That's saying a lot, because I have purchased at least a dozen new cars. Kirsten was friendly and knowledgeable...she should be, having owned three MINI's herself. After shopping and test driving two cars, I literally drove off the lot in less than two hours, including loan document signing. I was very impressed. I would refer Kirsten to anyone who appreciates an honest, knowledgeable salesperson. More
I was dealing with Chris Marino Internet Manager at Bob Smith BMW in Calabasas Looking at new BMW’s and Minis’. I was trading in BMW with only 1600 miles and I like to get figures for the trade first so Ch Smith BMW in Calabasas Looking at new BMW’s and Minis’. I was trading in BMW with only 1600 miles and I like to get figures for the trade first so Chris Marino gave his best trade in figure and it was about $3000.00 less than I wanted but then he to told me to hold on a minute and then he told yes I can give you trade in amount you want. A little skeptical I said, you just gave me a lower price and now you can give me 3K more, yes he says. I then said OK no games. He said of course not. So I go out and look at different cars, tests drives find the one I want go back to his office and this guy tried pull fast one. I told him early on that I had my own financing and just give me the out the door price. Chris asked what my interest rate is. 2.9% I reply for 72 month if I want. Great he says I will give you your monthly payment I tell him can you just give me the out the door price and I can figure it out myself as my payment will be $15.15 per thousand financed. He tells me my payment with the equity in the trade will be $626.00 a month. I come back with no way that is about twice what the payment should be. What are you figures I ask and all I get back from him is your payment will be $626.00 and oh, I will need $2,500.00 cash from you. What I say to him give me the breakdown on the deal as I am ready to walk out. He tells me that my trade in is not the amount I wanted but original amount and the $2,500.00 cash he wants will make up the difference plus the discount on the new car and now with all of that I am getting the trade in amount I wanted. Sure, this guy must think I am some kind of idiot. I told Chris Marino that he is liar and I walked out. I sent a email to the owner of dealership Catherine Smith to tell her what I think of there sales staff and to my surprise I got reply right away and she was very concerned about my experience and wanted help me out. Well, I talked to her over the phone I while she apologized for my experience at her dealership she excused the situation as big misunderstanding and she is just as bad as Chris Marino. Stay away from this dealer. More
OH MY GOD is the service bad. They are rude and dont feel they need to apoloize for it. Something that should have take maybe 45 minutes ended up taking over 3 1/2 hours. I took my car in because my sa feel they need to apoloize for it. Something that should have take maybe 45 minutes ended up taking over 3 1/2 hours. I took my car in because my satellite radio wasn't working. I also asked if he could help me with my garage door opener (on the convience pkg) because I could get it to program on the car. Tig wasnt very bright and gave me a stupid answer. He kept insisting that I should leave the car and not wait for it. The car sat there for 10 minutes before it was taken to the service bay area. The mechanics didnt start on it for over an hour (I heard the conversation with Tig and the mechanics in the back on the phone). Then when it was finally fixed an hour later (10:30). He said it should be done in a few minutes they would wash and he would do the paperwork. I waited and waited till 11:30 before finally Tig did my paperwork with no apology for the wait. I wouldnt have such a problem but the whole time I was waiting the 3 1/2 hours there was 4-5 mechanics talking in the service area how they didnt have anything to do. Are you kidding me? How about fixing my car? Then I witnessed another mechanic who took a customer's keys because she wanted a car wash after spending 1500 on her car to be fixed to only have the mechanic keep talking to the other mechanics and making the customer wait. Let's put it this way. This was my first and only time I go and take my Mini to Bob Smith. I talked the the Service Manager today for her to tell me that she'll look into it. I'll believe that when I see. More
UPDATE ~ BOB SMITH MINI MADE IT RIGHT ~ UPDATE!!! PLEASE READ* Had a problem after I purchased my Mini Cooper S Convertible, HOWEVER: After I replied to the service survey I was IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED READ* Had a problem after I purchased my Mini Cooper S Convertible, HOWEVER: After I replied to the service survey I was IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED by the General Sales Manager and General Manager who apologized and we had an understanding. There was quite a bit of miscommunication at Bob Smith Mini. After our conversation we worked out an amiable situation that made me happy and also helped them to understand what went wrong. It also helped them to work out a few glitches in their system. As it turns out it was a mistake that the email was sent to me. I have to say that Catherine Smith is a wonderful business woman. She admitted to their mistakes and listened attentively to my concerns. Catherine was open to hearing the truth and took steps to make me feel comfortable. I would be happy to recommend buying a car at Bob Smith Mini or BMW. Especially because of Catherine, who made every effort to correct the wrongs done. Of course it would be better if this never happened, but I am confident that nothing like that will happen again, not while Catherine Smith is at the helm. So go to Bob Smith BMW or Mini and rest assured that you will be taken care of. It is a family run business and they are very concerned that the customer is happy! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED DEALER. They do the right thing! More
