First, I would like to start off by saying that Trevor was a great host and was super kind, patient, and accommodating. I had no issues with Trevor whatsoever as he is a genuinely pleasant person to work was a great host and was super kind, patient, and accommodating. I had no issues with Trevor whatsoever as he is a genuinely pleasant person to work with. My issues are with the shoddy trade-in appraisal offers and lack of assistance on out-of-state paperwork. To give a brief rundown, I purchased a brand new 2021 Toyota RAV4 AWD Hybrid XLE Premium from another dealership earlier in January. A few weeks later, I decided I really wanted the XSE trim instead and wanted to trade this new car in. After a bit of haggling, the upper management lowballed me on ~ 80% of its original value. I know, trading a new car into a dealership isn't the smartest decision, but this car was literally the current year and was practically brand new (only had 964 miles during the trade-in). They even acknowledged it was in excellent condition and was only one of three models only being sold in the US. In addition, there were literally no other deals factored in aside from a $500 factory rebate. God bless Trevor though as he let me keep my all-weather mats from my car trade-in though. I was hasty in my decision and ultimately obliged to trade-in my car for a mediocre price and no deals. Then the next issue came up. I am originally from NJ and I am temporarily studying at Purdue University. This dealership could not help me file out any paperwork (e.g. title, registration, license plates) for NJ. Unfortunately, my permanent residence is in NJ and is a 20+ hr drive to the closest NJ DMV. The dealership told me filing out-of-state paperwork and handling the fees are too complicated for them. Ugh, it's annoying, but whatever, I'll make the trip to NJ myself. Otherwise, you will have to redo your tax payments. Finally, this is a minor issue, but I noticed a ton of swirls, cobwebs, and minor abrasions on the XSE black exterior glossed trim, interior panels, and windshield wiper switch cap. What bugs me was this was a new car. To my dismay, I should of noticed these before I drove off the lot. I really appreciate Trevor though as he tried to help me as much as possible with these issues, even though I drove off the lot (which counts as a new vehicle delivery under the signed contracts). Overall, Trevor is a fantastic person to work with, but don't count on this dealership for help with involved out-of-state paperwork. Be sure to look up your car's value and compare it with KBB, Truecar, Carmax, and other dealerships. Although, since my car was so brand new, KBB and Truecar did not have any data on it, so in hindsight, my best bet would've been comparing its appraisals with an in-person Carmax or other dealership evaluations. Unfortunately, I was too hasty and really wanted a XSE, but I didn't think everything through. Know your bottom lines as during this purchase in late January, I basically got no deals was only paying a "fair price" according to Truecar estimates (I paid the remainder for the new XSE with a cashier's check). Also, really take the time to look at your paperwork and take pictures of everything they hand you. They'll try to hide hidden fees, such as unnecessary insurance stuff. Otherwise, I'd still highly recommend them if you personally live in the surrounding area or in general Indiana. Super nice and friendly people, spacious showrooms, but don't expect too much help from this dealership with out-of-state customers. More
