Awesome Team Easy. Fast. I feel like I got great deal. Andy Dearing went over and above to help me out--even after the deal was done. Easy. Fast. I feel like I got great deal. Andy Dearing went over and above to help me out--even after the deal was done. More
New Car for an Up and Coming Young Female Professional I am currently completing my Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling to become a Licensed Professional Counselor. My degree and licensure I am currently completing my Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling to become a Licensed Professional Counselor. My degree and licensure require an internship of 700+ hours before graduation. I had difficulty finding an internship site local to Colorado Springs and now will be travelling 600+ miles/ per week to Denver and South to C. City to meet my requirements. My husband and I then became concerned with the current state of my vehicle which is sitting at 200,000 plus miles. My husband and I have always avoided car payments and the idea of owning a new car do to our basic understanding of car values, but with winter coming we needed to make some decisions. We enjoyed our first Mazda so, we figured that was a good place to start. We started by looking at cars on the internet and after having a few cars and prices in mind went to Motor City. When I first walked onto the Bob Penkhus Mazda Dealership lot, I was overwhelmed. After a few moments I was greeted with a smile from Andrew Dearing. After a few minutes I felt my whole body take a deep breath. From that moment on I didn’t feel any pressure. Mr. Dearing was there every step of the way and available to answer every question and/or concern. His willingness and patience to deal with my husband and I as first time new car buyers, was reassuring that he just wasn’t trying to sell us any car, but help us, guide us and deliver us the RIGHT car for our life. As a first time new car buyer and a young professional in the world of counseling, having a reliable car to travel to my internship sites and future places of employment takes a vast weight off mine and my family’s mind and shoulders. I guess their logo is going to be right, we probably won’t just be buying one from them. Jay and Al More

Unfortunately, there was not a second key for our vehicle, and our car sales man mentioned that he had a connection to get us a second key. He requested us to follow up with him in a week. Well, our week turned into two weeks and then we still didn't have a key by the end of the month. We contacted the dealership and we spoke with David Paraday. He restored our confidence in the dealership and we certainly felt we were a valued customer, even after the sale. He ended up getting us schedule for a second key without any additional cost to us. We appreciate his ability to hear our concerns and make things right. More

Was called at 9am and told that they don't do windshield replacements. I told the service advisor to just have the oil and filter changed and I'd work with USAA on the windshield replacement. From 1030am to 3pm I called the advisor 2 times and left a message to call me. Left one message with another service advisor to have someone return my call and even left a message with the service manager to call me. Not one person called. Was eventually picked up at 4:15pm and finally arrived the dealership after 5pm. Advisor acted like nothing had happened. I paid for the oil change and on my way home the car felt like i was driving on a flat tires. Low and behold they had adjusted my tire pressure to low. Supposed to be 45 psi...and when I looked at the dealership inspection sheet they had made all 4 tires read 37 psi. Yesterday and today asked VW of America in a chat session to have someone call me....no response yet. It's as if Bob Penkhus doesn't care. More

Liars, MONEY HUNGRY, not considerate. After I wasted my time going, they SHOWED ME THE CAR HAD SEVERAL AREAS OF HAIL DAMAGE and other aesthetic disappointments that were not mentioned on the internet posting whatsoever. There was also a blatant nail sticking out of the tire that they "didn't catch" that's not the worst aspect of this terrrrrible facility... they wouldn't budge on the inflated price and they acted carefree, like I was almost a bother for coming in. Nonchalant like it wasn't MY 24K I was dropping with a 6 year commitment. They then proceeded to waaaayyyyy overprice my monthly payments. Completely inflating everything. Terrible people. Avoid! Worst Dealership Never buy a car from Bob Penkhus, and here's why. I came in to buy a car from them while my husband was deployed overseas, they took full advantage of Never buy a car from Bob Penkhus, and here's why. I came in to buy a car from them while my husband was deployed overseas, they took full advantage of this and sold me a Jeep for 23k, which I two days later had appraised at just 15k, why? Let me tell you, the roof leaks in two places, the tires need replacing, the sway bar links were loose and the alignment was off. I made them take it back, reluctantly, and VERY rudely. They messed me around for over a week, the manager is beyond rude and nothing short of a scam artist. I finally got another vehicle from them yesterday after countless phone calls and literally having to drive down there every single day to be ignored for hours and pushed around from salesman to salesman. They already have that Jeep back for sale, this time for 26k. So, beware, just don't go anywhere near them!! The manager is a piece of work, and they love to bully people into service warranties they don't want, with the threat of not closing the deal otherwise. To top it off, their 165 point "inspection" is a 5 minute look over and they do the bare minimum, to include selling tires that already need replaced immediately. Stay far away!!! More
Waste of time I spent the better part of a morning and afternoon at this place and I hope to never set foot in there ever again. After being jerked around all day, I spent the better part of a morning and afternoon at this place and I hope to never set foot in there ever again. After being jerked around all day, the manager comes out of the office with a bunch if numbers "proving" why they have to jack the price up $1500 from what I was just quoted. I even signed an offer. The manager was such a jerk with no tact, I'm amazed he made it to management. The dealer fees work out to about $850 when it's all said and done, including some of the classic tricks like "anti-theft protection." It sounds good but it's ultimately worthless and is $300 alone. During the sales/management pitch I was subjected to comments of how "things will get figured out once this Obama thing is over." Whatever it means, keep your politics out of my car buying experience please. The salesman was akin to Gil from the Simpsons pleading with me that it was his last day if he didn't make a sale, but really doing himself no favors by jerking me around. I may have payed a higher, but honest price, but that wasn't an option at Bob Penkhus. More
The dealer ship was very professional in service, scheduling and follow up. My wife and I both bought two new Volkswagens Jettas this week at the dealership. We wanted to get the windows tin service, scheduling and follow up. My wife and I both bought two new Volkswagens Jettas this week at the dealership. We wanted to get the windows tinted at a local window tinting business down the street from the dealership. We both drove are new Volkswagen to the window tinting business and both Joseph and Paul were waiting there with a vehicle for us to drive while the windows got tinted. They were professional in scheduling the appointment for us and being there on time when we arrived. I would recommend the dealership and the sales employes. More
My husband needed a new car. We had previously established a relationship with another VW dealership in town so all intentions were to purchase with that dealer. For convenience we decided that w established a relationship with another VW dealership in town so all intentions were to purchase with that dealer. For convenience we decided that we would just stop at Bob Penkhus to do a test drive on both VW models and then let the other dealership know and have them write up the deal. Well we not only took that test drive but we leased a car!! WOW!!! Seriously we all have the stories about car salesman and the guy in the back that does the numbers game, you know, the one you never see or meet....well let me tell you about our experience!!! Here goes.. This dealership is like NO OTHER! We not only enjoyed the pleasure of a knowledge savvy salesman but we were engaged with everyone, as if, we were the only people there. We got an amazing deal on that car. Everything was done with professionalism and true compassion and honesty for what they believe... with one goal in mind... making the customer happy!! By the time we were done leasing my husbands car we felt like family! Much to my surprise I decided that I wanted to have the same feeling again and this time with my own car! So yes! I leased a car too!! My husband and I have leased many cars through the years and have done business with many dealerships in Colorado Springs. We have to tell everyone we know that we have NEVER had this kind of experience in buying a car and we will never buy any where else!! Bob Penkhus VW and Employees you ROCK!! I am proud to have had the experience of a life time at this dealership! Thank you!!!! Scott and Jackie Shevock More
