I brought my VW in because it was having hesitation on take off, shifting issues, A/C problems, etc. Note I just had my fuel filter and air filter replaced. I just had my A/C re-charged as well. I bought the vehicle from Bob Penkhus with 55k miles on it. It currently has 80k.I have had my car in here for the same problems several times. Each time I am in there they tell me I need a fuel filter and an air filter. I work in the automotive repair industry as a service writer so I know what it takes to diagnose a vehicle. They charged me for FOUR separate diagnostic times. They told me I needed a fuel filter and air filter (AGAIN!) and a transmission service. They said my A/C needed re-charged as well. They did the A/C charge without my permission. I asked how they came to these conclusions and he said it's all according to mileage. I told him I had just done all of those things and the transmission service was not even due yet. He tells me there are no codes present in my vehicle so they just looked at the computer and there's nothing else they could do unless I pay them AGAIN to do what they should have done in the first place. You don't need codes in order to figure out what is wrong with a vehicle. They drove my car less than 5 miles. They literally charged me $400 for their "mechanic" to hook up a scanner to my vehicle and tell me there are no codes. That process takes MAYBE 15 minutes. They wanted to charge me OVER $1100! How in the world those basic maintenance procedures would add up to $1100 is beyond me. I will never return to this repair facility. I do not recommend it even for your basic oil change. They will just take your money and they won't address your concerns. More

Also, you expect the car to have services done (like Services A, B and C's) before the car hits the lot. Well, that is what we thought. We were wrong and when asked about them we felt like our voice didn't matter. The sale was done and WAM BAM thank you mam. See ya' wouldn't want to be ya type of attitude. When Fabian called after our purchase to follow up the items I needed assistance on and issues I was having was expressed. I was told I would get a call back and it has been over 2 weeks and nothing. I do not have a good feeling about this dealership because of the type of service I received and I dont have the warm fuzzy feeling of being excited about a new car at all. It really is a shame because a little support and assurance or even an offer to help and make things right were ignored. More
Check your service bill I own a vw. Brought my Gli in for 40k service and asked about my car starting hard and if they would recommend a way to go and have a quote ready for I own a vw. Brought my Gli in for 40k service and asked about my car starting hard and if they would recommend a way to go and have a quote ready for a later visit (I'm disabled on a fixed income). Advisor said no problem. So I wait and when the car is done there is a 150$ on diagnostic fees added on to the 40k service. I questioned him and said you never told me about a diagnostic fee. I don't have that much money. I would not of had you do anything. The advisor said I will eat that cost. He went on to recommend a new fuel filter. I asked for a quote and said he needed a few minutes. When the quote is ready the filter replacement was 249$. For a fuel filter and labor. So I asked him what the cost of the filter was and he said 145$. I said ok I'll make a appointment later. I walked across the drive and went into parts. Said I'd like to get a price on a fuel filter. $27......27. Not $145. Really shady practice and I feel like he was trying to take advantage of me. FYI I have an appointment next week at al sera for that filter. 125$ installed. Half the price. Bob penkus I will never do business with you again. More

Disappointing What adjectives should be utilized when you are given a price for a vehicle, then given an 'out the door' quote with the price $1,000 more than given What adjectives should be utilized when you are given a price for a vehicle, then given an 'out the door' quote with the price $1,000 more than given to you? I am looking to purchase a Mazda CX-5, have done extensive research on this vehicle, and already test driven one. Now is the time to purchase. I found what looked to be the vehicle I wanted online at Bob Penkhus. Kaitlyn Batley responded to my email inquiry. She sent pictures, price, stock numbers, pretty much all the information one might want when considering a vehicle for purchase. The one I wanted, $28,020, clearly marked in blue on the information. She asked if I could come in for a test drive, I explained I am over 6 hours away and have already test driven vehicle, all that's left to do is negotiate price and if they offered a deal better than closer dealerships, I'd be there by the weekend! She said she would have her sales manager work up a quote if I'd give her the address that would be used for registration. Done! I received a quote from Vern Dunckley in a PDF file, which I promptly downloaded and viewed..... the vehicle price? $29,020..... I immediately responded to Vern that the vehicle price is $1,000 more than price given. No response. The next morning I sent another email stating the vehicle price is more than I was given, asking when considering this vehicle purchase, if I should just lessen the out the door by price difference. No response from Vern. A few hours later I received an email from Craig Wainright, Sales Manager (his title introduction) stating he understood I had additional questions, would it be convenient to call. Absolutely, I'd love to speak with someone.... When I explained the situation he said, 'Katilyn is off today, where do you have that she gave you that price?' I said I would forward him the email containing the exact car, stock number and price. He said, 'Oh, ok, I see it now. Will you be at this number for a while, I'll call you back.' I said that I would. No call back, nothing.... ....until the next day, from Kaitlyn, a form email reading, 'Are you still interested in the vehicle, we haven't heard back from you'. I responded with content of my conversation with Craig from the previous day. She responded with literally, only, 'The 28,020 is before taxes and fees' Ummmmmmm, that is the price that should have been on the quote! I'll let you, the reader, decide which adjectives to use. I'm just saying, 'No' More

It was worth the drive from Pueblo for us and I would recommend Bob Penkhus and Fabian! More

There was some of the normal game play with any car sale of making me put some money down to hold it whether there was actually others that interested or not. The finance guy really tried to sell me the extra warranty until he realized I bought the TDI and not the gas turbo and then he backed off a little. It has been a year now and Scott still gave me the first free oil change as he said he would in the beginning when I thought I would be driving more and needing them more often, Overall, I was satisfied with the buying process at Bob Penkhus in Motor City. I would go back if they had a vehicle I wanted again. More
