Customer Service was Lacking. I buy high line cars for three main reasons. 1. The On Call/SOS button 2. Loaner Vehicles 3. Service When you drive a $70,000 car and it’s under warranty and need a vehicle to get around while running a business in 3 different cities, I don’t need some smart alek service person offing to pay for my Uber. I need a vehicle, I don’t care how smart Bob Penkhus is about saving money because of their insurer policy not covering any issues. I’ve never had an issue. Seems the service department should be treating customers like they actually do drive a high line car. The service at Bob Penkhus is lacking compared to BMW and Mercedes where they treat you with the high line vehicle mentality. They have respect for the vehicles, and understand what it means to drive a high line car, and that carried all the way through from purchase to service. My two cents. More
Severely Disappointed I dropped my car off at Bob Penkus VW on 8 Apr for multiple issues. I had asked the service advisor if there were any discounts I could get since I was looking at almost $600, the response? “Look online.” One major issue I brought it in for was a grinding in the front end (like front axle) that I had brought it in for a previous 2 times and they replaced different parts but the noise was still there. So, I was charged $135 for a noise I’ve brought in repeatedly and they said it may be “roof supports” although the noise is in the lower front-end. I was charged $89 for a front-end alignment as my car pulled to the right. AFTER they “aligned” it they stated they can’t adjust the “toe” because that would take another $200+ and the car STILL pulls to the right and their response was “it’s straighter.” So, either they didn’t know enough about a VW they work on to say they can only partially adjust it or they deceptively did the minimum and charged me the maximum. On the alignment I had requested prior to the work that I get the measurements before and after so I could take it back to Big O where they supposedly aligned it (tracked straight before, not after their “alignment”) but VW gave me some illegible copies that you can’t read the measurements on, so I don’t have the measurements and I’m out $89 and it still tracks the same. Their ”WorldClass Inspection” noted my tires were at 10/32’s, but the tires are brand new, so either they are lazy or don’t know how to measure. I called Fri afternoon to see the status of my car and left a message, but received a call back about 5:15 (too late to go get my car) stating it was done. When I picked up the car on 15 Apr, the rear brakes made a serious grinding noise when going forward and backwards. I pulled it back into the bay and was told I should “replace the rear rotors” which wasn’t even mentioned in their “WorlClass Inspection.” More

Our daughter and her fiance went to Penkhus Motors ladt week because her car had been totaled by her insurance company for hail damage...It was the 12 Our daughter and her fiance went to Penkhus Motors ladt week because her car had been totaled by her insurance company for hail damage...It was the 12th time in the last twenty years that we went in looking for a vehicle for ourselves or our children.. .These two went in looking for two used vehicles to get them thru a lean time financially...they walked out with two new 2019 Volkswagen Jettas and a monthly payment which fit their budget perfectly! This company consistently works to find us the best vehicle for the monthly payment we can afford. The service department bends over backward to accomodate us since we live out of town.. Their work has always been exceptional! i appreciate the time they spend explaining what they find diagnostically ...getting our permission before they begin their repairs!!! It is always a pleasant atmosphere throughout the facility and we enjoy the snacks and beverages provided that make our wait comfortable!! Don't stand behind their product !DONT BUY HERE! Bought a new Jeep for close to 18k within 2 weeks the wheel bearings were making a bunch of noise. Took it back in and they seemed at !DONT BUY HERE! Bought a new Jeep for close to 18k within 2 weeks the wheel bearings were making a bunch of noise. Took it back in and they seemed at first willing to fix it but the guy wouldn't give me a price. He kept referencing if I had a warranty there would still be a $100 copay. So when I left the car they made it seem like at most I would be out a $100, and I was OK with that. 2 Days later I walk in and it turned into $400. After getting pissed off it turned into $160, but still, wheel bearing going bad in 2 weeks meant it was broken when purchased and I certainly didn't get a broke wheel bearing discount. If your OK with paying 18k for a car that will be in the shop 2 weeks later this is the place for you. More
Easy, Comfortable Sales Experience Salesman Bryn was awesome. I never felt like I was being pressured or like anything shady was happening. In the end, we ended up coming back later and buying a second one. So we went from having a Honda Civic and Pilot to having 2017 Golf GTI and Tiguan. They're both comfortable, beautifully engineered and fun to drive. More
2011 Land Rover LR4 - Could have been a nightmare!! I bought a used 2011 Land Rover LR4 just before Christmas. When I went to the dealership to pick it up the next day (it had to be detailed and servic I bought a used 2011 Land Rover LR4 just before Christmas. When I went to the dealership to pick it up the next day (it had to be detailed and serviced) the wheels and rims had been stolen off of the vehicle. Apparently, there were several dealerships on the motor mile that were hit by thieves. Ivan (the sales manager) assured me that they would replace the rims and wheels with new ones but it would take about 2 weeks to get them in because they had to be ordered. So, the dealership lent me a vehicle the first week and I was out of town the 2nd week so it worked out ok. I returned the 1st week in January and picked up my car and it was shined and looking good. Fast forward 4 weeks and the alternator and engine coil went out! Luckily, I purchased an extended warranty for my car (it's a Land Rover......something is bound to break and be expensive) but the engine coil was not covered by the warranty and was going to cost me $900! I called Scott (my salesman) and let him know I was not happy with what happened and he contacted Ivan who said to bring it in and let them take a look at it. After having the vehicle a couple of days, Ivan said the dealership would cover the cost of the parts so I was only out of pocket the labor cost to repair the car. I would also like to add that Jerry (service manager at Powers location) was an absolute gentleman! I will take my vehicle back to this location for service in the future. Thanks, guys! More

Passenger air bag is still messed up, which legally they can't sell it with airbag problem. They lied about the date of when the car came in as a trade. They said it JUST came in, come to find out it had been on their website for over a week. They lied about the price, said it was wrong price on their website, and manager said it happens all the time! Bunch of liars from salesman to sales manager. Please don't buy from them . They are thieves and liars. Took my car in as a trade and turned around 2 days later it on their website for $4,250 more than they gave me. And don't trust the sales manager Ivan every word out of his mouth is a lie. Please take your business elsewhere. More
