I wish I could give less than 1 star.I bought my truck I wish I could give less than 1 star. I bought my truck on July 9th. I couldn't test drive it because both batteries were dead. It only has 48000 miles on it so after they replaced the batteries I figured it would be fine so I drove it off the lot. Over the next few weeks I noticed my brakes squealing so I made an appointment to get those checked out among some other lights that had came on (advance trak and ABS). My front tires were also wearing uneven so I wanted them to rotate and align those as well. I booked a service online. They called me and said they couldn't get me in for another week and a half. I said that was fine because I understand there is a lot of demand for services right now. I took it in on August 3rd. They had it for two days. Changed front brake pads and rotors. They said they aligned my tires but did not rotate them or fix the advance trak. They said nothing was wrong with the advance trak but the light came on every time I turned my truck on and wouldn't go away but I said whatever they know better than me. I didn't expect them to do it for free even though I had just bought it less than a month prior. On August 23rd I was on my way home from picking my son up from the babysitter. I smelled brakes and my front end was pulling to the right. I slowed down to about 35mph when my tire broke off behind the rotor (see photos). I skid to a stop. Waited for a tow and towed it back to the dealership. Next day I went in and made sure they had the keys since it was dropped off at 11pm. They said they had everything they needed and would let me know what needed replaced. I waited for two days and called on the 25th. They said they still hadn't looked at it and would hope to see it over the next few days. I told myself to exercise some patience and let them call me when they got the chance. I got a call from Bob Chapman on Monday August 30th saying they wouldn't be able to get to my truck until atleast OCTOBER. While I understand there is a high demand and a limited supply of skilled labor I don't understand how you can do that to someone that just bought a vehicle at your dealership not even 60 days prior. And to top it.off they were the last and only ones to take the tires off the vehicle and work on the brakes. The gentleman I spoke to told me he was calling me to let me know it might not be a bad idea to take it elsewhere since my truck is lifted and has many custom things on it. So now I've wasted another week without a vehicle (my job does require a truck) and it sounds like I will make my first three truck payments without being able to actually drive the thing. I will also have to pay for another tow if I can find someone that can work it before October More
Got YELLED at on the phone. Blamed the parts that I had put on. They kept the paperwork that would explain all the work that was done. Attitude only changed when I told them that I had service coverage tha put on. They kept the paperwork that would explain all the work that was done. Attitude only changed when I told them that I had service coverage that I had gotten there when I bought the car from them. But car is fixed, so far. I left there feeling that they thought I was stupid, and the only opinion that was factual was theirs. More
Service dept. is not recommended. I have been getting the works maintenance done on my truck. There supposed to rotate the tires although the have never crossed the tires over just front to back. Also after works maintenance done on my truck. There supposed to rotate the tires although the have never crossed the tires over just front to back. Also after they okayed my battery it failed stranding my wife and kids. Battery looked so bad it was obvious they never looked at it and I would have had them replace it. I expected more from them and learned they can’t be trusted. More
Brought my truck in for an appt, asked them to check on a squeaky belt in addition to what I scheduled it for. They got all the work done in good time, but charged me $89.99 just to look at the belt! They squeaky belt in addition to what I scheduled it for. They got all the work done in good time, but charged me $89.99 just to look at the belt! They did not mention it would cost me when I asked for it, and to charge that much to just LOOK at a belt is unethical. This DOES NOT make me want to come back there for service again. More
Would have given no star if possible. Had service appointment last Wednesday and upon entering and checking in I overheard technician telling one of other service people that employee assigned to wor appointment last Wednesday and upon entering and checking in I overheard technician telling one of other service people that employee assigned to work on my vehicle was leaving for the day. I figured that someone else would install the part. Instead, after sitting in lounge for 15 minutes, I was told that my part didn't come in ! I was furious ! I rearranged my day and canceled appointments that I could have kept, to honor my commitment to appointment I made. Nobody could call me prior to my arrival and sitting in the lounge for 15 minutes ? I believe my part was there and they had scheduled everyone to perform other appointments. I would rather be told the truth, that they dropped the ball, than be lied to. They charge a certain shop rate for services. My time is worth something also ! Next time I will have my truck serviced elsewhere ! Integrity and honesty mean more to me than convenience of location being local !!! More
I remember when bob chapman dealership was in plain city My grand father was a friend of the family I recently moved back to plain city and needed service [brake light issue] on my company truck so I of co My grand father was a friend of the family I recently moved back to plain city and needed service [brake light issue] on my company truck so I of course went to Chapman ford I drove there and thought they could take a quick look at it Boy was I wrong the service shop had one car inside and several labors kinda working. So I went inside to the service dept and was greeted by 3 service people behind the desk 2 guys and a girl .What a rude group they treated me like I was interrupting there important conversation and told me they were to busy and I could make a appt. for the end of the month , I tried to explain my brake system problem they did not appear to have no concern for my saftey at all and what they didnt understand probable do to lack of proper training! Not only did I want to get my snow plow truck serviced before the first snow!!! but next year I am going to buy a new plow truck and love the new ford bronco, and was wanting to get on the bronco list to be one of the first in union county to have one next year. When I asked about seeing the bronco on the showroom floor they looked at me like I was stupid and replied they dont have one because they dont come out to next year, they didnt even offer to call a salesman to answer my questions ...So I left and went to coughlin chevy dealership and asked them if they could get me in to look at my ford truck brake system because of my safety concerns [note I had 3 seprate lights on along with alarms going off] They replied sure we will get you in for a check up in 5min. So it was a easy decision for me to make!!!! So in closing I must say i will make my two truck purchase from coughlin ford dealership in 2021!!!!!! joe chapman we have met several time at car shows and I used to have a lot of respect for your family business but it appears your dealership is not the same as when our grandfathers were friends...Thanks for nothing Best of luck Dave More
Recently acquired two ford vehicles. Took one in for service and tire repair at Bob Chapman Ford in Marysville Ohio. They forgot the tire repair, but offered to plug the tire. I can do that myself. I wa service and tire repair at Bob Chapman Ford in Marysville Ohio. They forgot the tire repair, but offered to plug the tire. I can do that myself. I wanted a patch repair. They really couldn’t answer certain questions regarding my warranty. I’ve made several attempts to contact them via email, but have yet to get a response. I try to shop local, but if they don’t want my business, I tried elsewhere. Sent an email to Mathews Ford in Marion, and received immediate response, followed by a friendly phone call, and immediately scheduled a maintenance service, and happy to help me with a purchase. That’s the type of service I’m searching for, and couldn’t find or receive from Bob Chapman Ford. More
All around great experience . Nick Hinshaw and the entire staff were great to work with. Frome the Sales Manager to the Finance Manager a great experience. No haggle fair pricing is what you get at Chapman F staff were great to work with. Frome the Sales Manager to the Finance Manager a great experience. No haggle fair pricing is what you get at Chapman Ford. In and out the door in less than 2 hours. Wow, I was used to arguing price for an hour, another hour getting financing approval, then 2-3 more hours getting paper work ready to sign. That is definately not the case here. Those folks have it all together here and it shows. Will definately buy there again. Oh yeah and by the way, they are not pushy in any way. If your not from Marysville. Its worth the drive. If you are, there is no other place to buy in my opinion. Great job Chapman Ford More
Bought my truck from bob Chapman so I wanted to do my services there as well because I had such a good experience. Drove 2.5 hours, visited family, but the main purpose was to get my services done. I got services there as well because I had such a good experience. Drove 2.5 hours, visited family, but the main purpose was to get my services done. I got there and was told my appointment was at 11:30, I showed my confirmation that it was indeed at 12:00. The worker then said “ idk man you’ll have to reschedule or wait an hour and a half”. He was rude and arrogant. How do I show you proof of my service time and you still tell me I’m wrong and make it to be my fault. I will never do business with Bob Chapman ford again, and will take all my service/warranty needs elsewhere. More
We got our truck back. It has been at Bob Chapman ford in marysville Ohio for almost two months. I had a car hit the wheel and bumper. We had it towed there and on the third day they called and told us they marysville Ohio for almost two months. I had a car hit the wheel and bumper. We had it towed there and on the third day they called and told us they had the parts and can get it done that day and it as just over 800.00. I asked if the insurance company looked at it yet and they told me they will get back with me. After two more days I get a email from the insurance stating it was going to be 4200.00. I called Bob Chapman and they had to order the parts. The parts can in and they did not fit and they blamed that the insurance company ordered the wrong parts. And it kept getting worse from the lies and never took blame for anything. Joe Chapman had a tantrum on the phone with me about me accusing one of his employees lying to me. When we picked it up there where dirt and grease all over the inner door. I when in and told them one person got up with a can of spray and a reg and tried to clean it off. The manager pat told my wife they did not do it because they did not get in the truck. So do not trust this dealership for anything. We will never go back to them. More
