Very rude finance person, didn't explain numbers well, when we questioned them he was incredibly rude. He in his rudeness asked if we wanted to return car, after being spoken to like he did, we said yes. when we questioned them he was incredibly rude. He in his rudeness asked if we wanted to return car, after being spoken to like he did, we said yes. Dealership said oh sorry cant do that. So being treated rudely after purchasing a vehicle is okay with dealership. More
I know that everyone else here rated these guys terribly, but I had a GREAT experience! I worked with Lamonte Wilder, first through email, then in person and he gave me an incredible price - over $1,000 less but I had a GREAT experience! I worked with Lamonte Wilder, first through email, then in person and he gave me an incredible price - over $1,000 less than anybody else! I contacted other dealers to see if they could beat the price Lamonte gave me on a new Civic and they thought that I was joking! One dealer actually said "I don't know of anyone that would give you that car for that price". I was amazed. If you can, give them a try! I'm definitely glad I checked with them. More
Deceptive practices at best. If I could give them a negative star I would. I received a letter stating that I qualified for special financing due to my recent filing of bankruptcy. I called and spoke negative star I would. I received a letter stating that I qualified for special financing due to my recent filing of bankruptcy. I called and spoke with Zamira and explained to her that my husband had passed away and I was needing to file bankruptcy due to high medical bills. She mentioned that the program that I qualifed for was put in place to help people in my exact position. I explained that I did not have money to put down, and that my bankruptcy had not been confirmed nor had it been discharged. She said that was fine and the financing was in place and all I needed to do was come in and finalize the paperwork. I was a little uneasy and phoned to talk to Jennifer the supposed finance manager who said that the information Zamira gave me was accurate and that they would more than likely be able to secure a lower finance rate. So I drove the 3.5 hours to Decatur only to be told by Shawn (I think he was my salesman, not sure though) that my financing HAD NOT BEEN SECURED and the bank needed my bankruptcy to be confirmed before they could help me. I remember several phone calls to Zamira asking her that exact question. When I told Shawn of my conversations with Zamira and Jennifer he looked at me as if I was stupid. Needless to say I said good bye and drove the 3.5 hours back home. I would not return to Bob Brady if they offered me a free car. They put you at a table and speak about your personal information so that everyone near you can hear. I had to ask them several times to please not talk so loud that it wasn't anyone elses business why I filed bankruptcy and that I didn't need it advertised. I do not like the word liar, but it sure fits here. Both Jennifer and Zamira should be ashamed of themselves. They lied for whatever reason and didn't seem to care about the inconvenience they caused me. I would not recommend this place to anyone at anytime. Funny, I was told by another dealership that HAS approved me that they are scam artists....I didn't want to believe him. Figured it was "just business talk". He hit the nail on the head and told me exactly what they would do. I should have listened. And just for the record, I am not a person who charges and charges and charges without the ability to pay back. I am a widow who lost everything when my husband died and I have been preyed upon by a total unscrupulous group of people. Ms. Sanders. More
I bought my car from Bob Brady in 2002. I took it there for my so called "free" oil change and was told it was not free. I was also told that the next time my gas tank needed filled to "come on in and we for my so called "free" oil change and was told it was not free. I was also told that the next time my gas tank needed filled to "come on in and we will fill it for you". well that never happened either. I was told the salesman that made me that promise no longer worked there and that they had no way to verify if he said that. I originally went in for a used Xterra. The salesman would not get the keys for it... instead he got me two sets for larger SUV's. I went ahead and test drove them just to compare them. There were broken things in the vehicle that I asked him if they would be fixed... no respponse. AND to top it off while we were out on the test drive we had to stop for gas..... I could go on and on.... I now take my vehicle 45 miles away for service... KC summers in Mattoon THEY ARE THE BEST!!!!! More
I visited the store in Decatur, Illinois end of Summer 2010. I had a 2000 Pontiac Montana that I was looking to trade in. Bob Brady Auto Mall was highly recommended by JD Byriders after paying on my vehic 2010. I had a 2000 Pontiac Montana that I was looking to trade in. Bob Brady Auto Mall was highly recommended by JD Byriders after paying on my vehicle for 2 years. I contacted JD Byrdiers and they sent over my information to Bob Brady Auto Mall. I did receive a phone call shortly after from the "Mall" to get some information to see what I was interested in. I advised them I was looking for a SUV or another Van since we are not a small family. I was advised my information would be ran to see what kind of vehciles I qualified for. I did not want to make a down payment and if I did no more than $250. My sales lady said everything looked great all she needed for me to do was make the short drive from Springfield, Illinois to Decatur, Illinois to look at some vehicles and choose out some vehicles that I think I might like. I made sure I asked her several times before I came over to Decatur, that I did qaulify for the terms I wanted as far as a low down payment and a SUV or Van. She said they had programs that could get me into what I needed. So, I made that "short" drive from Springfield to Decatur. I was met up by my sales person who took more information from me. When she came back after submitting my info she came back and said I will be back. She then pulled up with 2 used Honda Accords. Wanting a $1000 down at 70 months for $430 a month. WHO PAYS OVER $30,000 FOR A HONDA ACCORD, AND A USED ONE AT THAT? I told her I couldn't do that and she knew that before I made that "short" drive. She tried to talk her way into how this would be a great investment for me. I had to decline the offer. But, I received a call about 2 to 3 weeks later from another sales girl seeing if I was interested in a car. I advised her yes I was, but Bob Brady Auto Mall couldn't give me what I wanted. She said let me see what I could. So I regave her information and she called back to say, We have great news for you Kimberly, we can get you taken care of. All you need to do is come on over and pick out some vehicles. So, I asked her what had changed between now and 3 weeks ago. She said new cars new programs. So, once again I made that "short" drive from Springfield to Decatur to pick out a nice car. When I got there I gave her all the same info. My sales lady said she would be back with some options. I couldn't believe it when she drove up in the SAME Honda ACCORD and said that was my only option, and I could get it with a $1000 down. I told her this was the same thing I the last sales lady tried to put me into. She proceeded to tell me I should take it because my van was going to last much longer. I had to just stare at her. Of course I refused. and went home again on that "short" drive back to Springfield. Bringing me to my next story, I put in a application at Green Hyundai in Springfield, Illinois. I received a call before I was even able to exit the application from a Cameron. I told him what I was interested in and what my down payment could be if any. Cameron was able to sell me a 2007 Hyundia Entrourage for $250 down 60 months and $441 a month. And my lender was a well respected place. I believe your dealership could learn a lot from Green Hyundia. And I have their number on hand of 217-241-0045 if anyone ever wants to get pointers on how to actually give good customer service. Because my friend was going to try and get a car through Bob Brady Auto Mall, and since she has to work and not sure when she will be in, she was told by a sales lady that they would give her loan to another customer then. Are you kidding me? More
I was in the market for a Honda Accord coupe, and Bob Brady Honda caught my eye because I passed it on the way to work every morning. I love my Honda but I will NEVER set foot on their lot again, and I Brady Honda caught my eye because I passed it on the way to work every morning. I love my Honda but I will NEVER set foot on their lot again, and I tell everyone I know to avoid them at all costs. The finance manager (I believe his name was Marty) agreed to accept my down payment of $1100. Two days later, he said that the contract "wasn't written correctly," and that I needed to write them a check for another $900 (for a minimum $2000 down payment). I informed them that it was not my fault that they didn't write up their contract correctly (or whatever their excuse was), that I would not be paying for their mistake, and that I was going to consult an attorney to see if they could really force me to pay more. At mention of the word "attorney," the finance manager said he would take care of the problem, and he never called me back. One of the "incentives" that was offered (with the purchase of the car) was free oil changes and tire rotations for the life of the car. I scheduled an appointment for an oil change/tire rotation, and they handed me a bill. I reminded them (per the terms of our sales agreement) that these services were to be provided to me at no cost, and I informed them that I would not be paying for these services. The cashier called the finance manager, who said "Okay fine, we'll pay for the services. But make sure she understands that we are not paying for all of her automotive repairs." I was so insulted - Bob Brady dealerships will tell you anything to get you to buy their vehicles, then they try not to hold up their end of the agreement. And if you call them on it, they try to use bully tactics against you. The last time I took my car to Bob Brady for an oil change, I left in tears after dealing with Paul, the service "manager" at the time. He made me feel like poor white trash - like I was trying to get something for free that I didn't deserve (I was just there for the free oil change I was promised). I now have my car serviced by Honda of Illinois in Springfield, IL; they have very friendly staff and an outstanding service department. A new salesperson from Bob Brady Honda called me one day to see how I was doing with my car, and he wanted to know if I would be interested in trading it in for a newer model. I informed him that I have never been treated as poorly as I was by Bob Brady, that I will never set foot on their lot again and that I continue to tell everyone I meet what a HORRIBLE dealership it is. Needless to say, I haven't received a call from Bob Brady Honda since then. I am glad I found this web site, and (sadly) I am glad to see that I am not the only person who was treated like a third-class citizen by Bob Brady Honda. I hope my information helps. More
We went to Bob Brady hoping they would be able to help us, they sounded promising. My girlfriends car was literally at the end of its life and we had to get her a newer one. When we started with Bob Brady us, they sounded promising. My girlfriends car was literally at the end of its life and we had to get her a newer one. When we started with Bob Brady they showed us a 2005 Malibu Classic, nice little car that would get us around. We test drove the car, immediately there was a problem with the steering, I had said something to the Sales Associate at the time that we were dealing with. The associate stated that we could get that fixed if we ended up purchasing the car. As we were test driving the car we were asking questions about the car. One particular question was how much is this car? and she said "I am not privileged to this information". So we didn't think anything of it at the time figured we would find out soon. Our car had died literally as we pulled into the dealership, and they knew we needed to get a car. So come to find out we need more money than the $500 down that we told them we could come up with, so I called my dad to have him lend me another $1000, for a total of $1500 dollars down on top of our trade. The car valued at $8400 and they bumped the price up to $10500 and just knocked it back down to $8500 with our trade, so we got nothing for the car. We could have at least got $500 for the car. So we got to the point where we were signing the paper and we asked again to the sales manager if we would be able to get the car fixed since we had brought the problem up in the begging, he told us yes that someone would contact us and set us up with an appointment. The day never came to fix my car with them and they deny it today that this was the case. To top it off they misplaced our $500 and threatened to take us to court if we did not pay it. So with me just getting my job and not having time or money to go to court like they threatened us, we decided to pay them. So I pay half of the money and asked them again if they will fix our car like they said they would. They now tell me its too late to take care of this problem, and so I had to put out $767 dollars from the down payment of my house, and I still have to pay them the rest of the $500 they lost. I have dealt with dealerships before and never had this bad of service. Every place I have gone to had always known the price of their cars, and have came through with any promises made, so obviously someone here didn't know their job. I highly recommend you purchase from somewhere else you will get screwed dealing with these people. Thank you Bob Brady for the Horrible Service! More
Before you sign any contracts with Bob Brady Automall, I would highly recommend walking out the door for a cool off period.
