Unprofessionalism by Owner Yesterday 8/24/17, I drove 4 hours to try and make a deal on a dream car I found on eBay and located on the lot of Blackwell Chrysler Jeep Dodge. I f Yesterday 8/24/17, I drove 4 hours to try and make a deal on a dream car I found on eBay and located on the lot of Blackwell Chrysler Jeep Dodge. I first have to say that the employees at Blackwell went above and beyond my expectation. My first communication was via text to a Blackwell rep name Jennifer who sort of got the ball rolling. Then I communicated with the Internet rep Hannah who was awesome from start to finish. Then after agreeing to drive my trade-in 4 hours away, I left home around 4:30 a.m. and arrived before the dealership opened. I teamed up with a sales rep name Justin who was also great and took me out on a test drive the blew my mind and afterwards I knew I would be driving this 2014 Challenger show car home. The sales manager presented me an offer for my trade-in which was right in the ball park of what I expected. However, I wanted to negotiate the price of the Challenger which was listed at $41,996 and being a good husband, I wanted to consult my wife to proceed. I asked if the price of the Challenger could be an even $40,000 and if okay, I was ready to hand over my car, and present them the balance from my Credit Union. Well, I was told that the owner wanted to see my 2006 Nissan 350Z show car and I sat and waited and even saw a glimpse of him and very shortly after their conversation outside, I was shocked but kept my composure when presented the news by the sales manager. Without any valid explanation the owner didn't even want to counter offer, I was simply told that he didn't want to make a deal with me at all! Who does that? I'm a 20 year Air Force Retired Veteran and would have thought that an American owned business such as this, with truly the best employees I've encountered from the time I walked through the doors and even after receiving the less than desirable news afterwards, one would have thought the owner would have the decency to approach a potential customer and give some explanation as to why I was denied the purchase of this car but that didn't happen. The sales manager was so embarrassed that he presented me with two $10 gas cards to help defray the cost of driving 4 hours back home. I was not going to leave a review but after my wife started feeling guilty for asking me to try and negotiate further with the price of the Challenger, I felt that it was my duty to put the owner on notice. I can only assume that it was to get more money for the car because the price on eBay has increased from $41,996 to $43,000. This car should have been in my garage today and waiting to compete in the next car show in my local area. Mr. Blackell, that is just not right and you should seriously take a page of your employees hand book on how to treat your customers. They've definitely got it right! More
