This "Dealership" OVER inflates his prices. My husband and I went to see John about a car and what we looked at was not for us. John seemed to be VERY condescending for a salesman. Also I looked My husband and I went to see John about a car and what we looked at was not for us. John seemed to be VERY condescending for a salesman. Also I looked at several of his cars online and EVERY one of them was priced at LEAST $10, 000 over blue book value. And every time I looked a car up on KBB I gave him the benefit of the doubt and put in that the car was in pristine condition with every possible upgrade and his prices were all about $10, 000 over what Kelly Blue Book stated was the "fair market value'. I understand wanting to make a living but really???? This just makes you (IMHO) a thief. Please do yourself a favor and steer clear of this THIEVING establishment. More
Plain and simple....he's a con artist!!!! All of his cars are well overpriced... go elsewhere if your looking for a honest deal. I can't believe that this place is still doing business. Unbelievable ad for a Corvair I only visited the website. I saw a display ad from Black Tie Classics in AutaBuy magazine that showed a Corvair Spyder turbo with a tiny picture with I only visited the website. I saw a display ad from Black Tie Classics in AutaBuy magazine that showed a Corvair Spyder turbo with a tiny picture with a description that mentioned rare factory air conditioning. Since air conditioning was not available with the turbo engine, I went online to see the full description and photos. I had to send them an email about it. Here's an excerpt: "This has to be the best customized, stock-looking Corvair I have ever seen. The amount of work that went into creating this car is amazing. The installation of the air conditioning system is really nice. The bodywork is done with such attention to detail that it could easily pass for a GM experimental car. If this car drives as well as it looks, it is probably well worth the asking price. I take issue with the wording in your ad though. It refers to the car as a "correct restored Spyder". This term, to many in the old car hobby, means that the car looks like it would in the dealer's showroom when it was new. This is not true for this car for several reasons: 1. The Spyder was not offered with air conditioning because the compressor and condenser and related parts would not fit in the engine compartment with the turbocharger. The Options List in the 1964 brochure says this about Air Conditioning: "neatly controls temperature and humidity inside the passenger compartment for miles and hours of relaxation. (Not available on the Spyder.) See the attached photo. 2. The front panel of this car looks totally different from the production Corvair, and no Corvair came from the factory with 6 taillights. 3. The car has modern low profile radial tires mounted on modern wire wheels. 4. Several trim items are missing from this car. There should be letters spelling out "CORVAIR" on the trunk and deck lids. There should be a circular emblem on the deck lid indicating a turbocharged engine. There should be a cross-shaped "monza" emblem above the "Spyder" script on the front fenders. The headlight trim is from a 1960 Corvair or Corvair truck. I also take issue with the references to "factory AC" for the reasons mentioned above, as well as "Factory Wire Wheels". While the wheels on the car look like the wire wheels shown in photos of prototype GM cars from the '60s, they are not the wire wheels that were installed at the factory. See the attached photo of the original wire wheel. Also the pictures of your car do not show a spare tire, or any mounting hardware for one, so this could not be a car sold by the factory." The ad could only be the result of stupidity/ignorance or attempting to deceive buyers. Ignorance seems unlikely since I found an ad on their website for a truly factory correct car of the same year, model, body style, even color. Unbelievable!! More
