Bill Volz's Westchester Chrysler Dodge Jeep

I was surfing the net to price mini vans and needed a car fast. I saw a Town and Country on the website and asked for info on it. When I went in to test drive he was great. When I decided to purchase I was half expecting a bait and switch situation because the internet price was so good, but he did not try this at all.This was refreshing. The whole process was easy and low stress. I would recommend this dealer. More

We purchased a 2010 Chrysler PT Cruiser from this dealership in February, 2011... a realtively easy transaction since we knew what we were looking for, they had it, we paid cash for our new vehicle a dealership in February, 2011... a realtively easy transaction since we knew what we were looking for, they had it, we paid cash for our new vehicle and drove home. It wasn't until a month later that the trouble began. At 1600 miles our transmission failed; being from Rhode Island we went to a RI Chrysler dealership for warranty service. AAA had to tow the vehicle from our home to the dealership and it was then another problem was discovered - there was a hole the size of a soccer ball in the bottom of the car that was noticed by the AAA driver prior to tow. After mentioning this to us, he proceeded to tow the vehicle to the dealership. Elmwood Dodge (RI) immediatly idenified it as transport damage. This was especially shocking since Bill Volz's dealership confirmed they had inspected the entire care prior to sale. It should be mentioned that we have purchased 12 new vehicles in the last 20 years and never checked the undercarriage of them ... it's assumed that a new car is in tact at time of sale. We contacted Bill Volz and the runaround and terrible customer service began here. Without writing a book, suffice it to say that they were willing to do nothing. I spoke to the managee and service manager "Dave" who insisited he had checked the car prior to sale and to add insult to injury asked me "what did you hit to cause the hole" ... ridiculous. When confronted by the other Chrysler dealership they back tracked saying they inspected the car but not "the entire car". Long story short (too late?) Elmwood Dodge repaired the hole and the transmission damage (wiring damage caused by the water from the hole) and sent us home good as new. The bottom line: Bill Volz's dealership is dishonest, unreliable and has little interest in legitimate problems that are ultimately caused by their neglect to do the simplest inspections of cars that arrive there. Once they get your money be prepared to deal with horrendous customer relations. I would never do business with them again and I wouldn't refer my worst enemey. I NEVER leave reviews (who has the time?) but this mess really warranted a warning to potential consumers. I have all of the photos and documentation from the legitimate dealership and this is a completely concise and honest review - take from it what you will. More
