Bill Vince's Bridgewater Acura responded

The review posted by Mr. Scarlet was very unexpected and surprising. Due to my long standing relationship with this client I personally made it a point to answer each of his emails and concerns in a timely manner and get every issue resolved to his satisfaction. After the purchase of his vehicle was completed he personally thanked me for the work I had done. After reading his post I realized that he was not happy with how some of his issues were handled, which was a surprise to me so I would like to respond to his review. Mr. Scarlet and I prepared most of the details of this sale over the phone prior to him even entering the dealership. He informed me that he had a vehicle to trade-in and I repeatedly informed him that the final trade-in value could not be determined until the vehicle was here in person to be appraised. Once his trade-in was brought in we realized there was damage on it that was not disclosed by the client over the phone and this directly affected the value of the trade-in. On the scheduled delivery date Mr. Scarlet and his family showed up at the dealership 3 hours later than the scheduled appointment time and then informed us that they only had 1 hour available to do the delivery. This did not allow us sufficient time to program the vehicle and instruct him on the proper use of the enhanced capabilities of this vehicle, as compared to the current Acura he was driving. He told us he did not mind that we could not show him the functionality of the new vehicle because since he already owned several Acura’s that he knew how to work the features. The vehicle he purchased is one of our most technically advanced and at a minimum requires a two hour delivery time to review all of the features. In Mr. Scarlet’s review he specifically mentions that the car was not programmed correctly and that the GPS did not work. These are all consequences of us not being given sufficient time to review the car features with the client. Mr. Scarlet inferred that we purposely tried to overcharge him on license plate fees/registration fees. The client was directly asked if he would prefer to transfer his existing license plates or to obtain new ones. He made the decision to transfer the plates. His existing license plates were removed from his old vehicle and placed in the trunk of his new vehicle. The buyers order and all associated paperwork clearly stated that he was only charged for transferring existing plates. After Mr. Scarlet’s review was posted I did contact him personally to discuss his concerns. In his update to his review he stated that I acted unprofessional and mocked and yelled at him and his wife. This is not the case by any means. In this phone call I clearly addressed each issue with him and reminded him that he was very happy and thankful to me each time we assisted him and resolved each issue. I explained to him my disappointment in reading his review and wished that I would have been given the opportunity to address these items personally. As I mentioned all of Mr. Scarlet’s concerns were addressed and corrected. Acura conducts a customer satisfaction phone survey within 48 hours after delivery which Mr. Scarlet answered a perfect score of 100%. In each of my communications with him he was appreciative with my team and happy with his vehicle. It is unfortunate that a couple of weeks after receiving his vehicle that Mr. Scarlet now feels unhappy with his purchase. Please be aware that we at Bill Vince’s Bridgewater Acura follow a philosophy that includes integrity and customer satisfaction. We would never purposely mislead a client and we work hard to keep an open and honest communication with all clients.
