Kathy Shadinger sold me my last car 12 years ago and still remembered all my likes & dislikes. I told her we were stopping by and by the time we got there, she had already searched out the perfect car f still remembered all my likes & dislikes. I told her we were stopping by and by the time we got there, she had already searched out the perfect car for me from a sister dealership. She also had some other creative options available that we had not thought about considering (which were very tempting to me) but we ended up going with the original perfect search. Bought a couple of vehicles last week, one from Bill Penney Toyota and the other from Honda of Jasper. Vastly different experiences. Honesty, integrity and customer service are very important to me, Honda of Jasper gave those to me and more. They've earned my business and I'm sure we'll be back. Bill Penney, not so much. Our sales person at Bill Penney was great. Very professional and helpful. The problems came from finance. On June 5th, my daughter picked out a vehicle at Bill Penney Toyota. We were asked for a deposit and were told it would be refunded the following day when we paid for the vehicle. I gave a deposit of $1000, via debit card. We paid for the vehicle on June 6th, using a personal check and a check from our credit union. There was no mention of refunding the deposit. I called June 7th and asked about the refund, finance indicated it would take 3-5 business days to process the refund. No refund as of June 14th and another call was made. Finance told me the refund had been processed and the holdup would be investigated. They promised to call me back. No return call. On June 15th I called for an update and spoke with the finance manager, "Brent." Brent told me he's not sure why I was told my refund would be processed the next day, or even in 3-5 business days. He added my refund would be mailed on June 17th. When I voiced my disappointment, he became very assertive and loud. A less confident person would have felt bullied. I let Brent know I wasn't going to be bullied and that he didn't have to worry about me making another purchase from any of their dealerships. Very unprofessional folks. Shop elsewhere and save yourself the hassle. More
