After searching for over a month in our home area of Albany for a reasonably priced used Subaru with a reasonable amount of miles, my son found exactly what he was looking for at Bill Kolb Jr Subaru - t Albany for a reasonably priced used Subaru with a reasonable amount of miles, my son found exactly what he was looking for at Bill Kolb Jr Subaru - two hours away. He called immediately, which was Thursday, to make an appointment for Saturday to see the vehicle. Due to our work schedules we could not get there until Saturday. Unfortunately, they would not take a deposit over the phone, so we had to keep our fingers crossed that the vehicle would still be available on Saturday. While I understand people may not show up after calling about a vehicle, when you have someone who is willing to travel two hours to do business with you and after seeing what a volume of business is done by this dealership, I think an exception should be made. Nonetheless, this is the only customer service improvement that I could see being made. Upon arrival, we were greeted at the door by Eric and welcomed to the dealership. Our salesman, Howard Bonfield, was ready for us and within 2 hours and 45 minutes we were out the door with the vehicle. Howard is very knowledgeable and makes you feel very comfortable with the entire car buying experience. It may sound cliche but you are made to feel like you're part of the family. The Kolb's have hit the nail on the head with their business model. No dealer gimmicks or games, straightforward pricing, sales staff is salaried not commissioned and customers treated with respect. For the first time ever, I did not feel like I was going to be physically ill while buying a car. Paul Spiegel in finance is the best finance rep ever. Again, straightforward finance transaction. He explains all of your options available with no hard sell. We have gone back to Albany and told everyone about our more than positive experience. I have already brought the vehicle back to Bill Kolb Jr, two hours away, to have mud shields installed for my son's birthday when I could have driven to a number of Subaru dealerships within minutes of my home. This is what a positive experience we had. Coming from someone who suffers severe "car dealership anxiety", this says a lot.
