I purchased a Volvo S60 back in 2015 and since it had factory Guarantee for three years, I took it to Bill Kidds Volvo Service Department in Baltimore County. At first, they were doing reasonably good work, but as time went by the level of service went downward fast. While they were charging me for regular oil change and maintenance three times as the other shops, they failed to deliver what they had promised-such as providing me a rent a car while my car was being repaired, or washing my cars as promised because they claimed their car wash was broken or their cars for renting were no longer available. And in one occasion they broke a video camera that came on my car front without even acknowledging of its existence. Finally, I stopped going there. Fast forward to 2023, my instrument panel went black last week and my regular mechanic said that it needs to be fixed by Volvo dealers. I made an appointment to get the problem checked- the clerk told me that by the way, you seat belt is under recall warning, something that I was just being notified on! So, I said please book me for fixing the seatbelt and the instrument panel, which she did. Today, I go there (about 10 miles drive from where I live) expecting to get both problems taken care of while I am waiting. First thing I am told by their mechanic/manager is that I did not make an appointment for fixing the panel, only the seatbelt! Then, he says I might have to wait the whole day to even get them to look at the panel because there are other cars ahead of me. I am wondering so why did you schedule me at this time?! At the end, when I decided that I was not going to have them to repair my car, he started to say insulting and rude words. My advice is to stay away from Bill Kidd's Volvo service center. After 40 years of buying Toyota's from Bill Kids my family is done. Customer service is terrible. A few years ago I wrote them off after they refused to fix a recall item, they wanted $1200 for the r family is done. Customer service is terrible. A few years ago I wrote them off after they refused to fix a recall item, they wanted $1200 for the recall repair, and made my next purchase from another dealer. My wife still had faith in them until today. She will be buying a new Toyota this fall and guaranteed we take the business to Heritage where they seem to care about their customers. More
Dealing with Bill Kidd's Toyota was a great experience from the start. Our salesman Dee was excellent. The process from start to finish was a breeze and everyone was friendly and professional. We were given the truth about all costs and fees up front, finance with Bong Lee was a breeze and we left with the car we wanted and without any hassle! We were able to walk out the door with a better vehicle upgraded with all the extra warranties and protections for the same price that Jerry's Toyota quoted us before adding all the warranties and protections offered at Finance!!!! My wife and I were very pleased with the customer service we received from Carlos Subido and the dealership in general. Carlos was quick to communicate with us when we expressed interest in the Toyota Highl we received from Carlos Subido and the dealership in general. Carlos was quick to communicate with us when we expressed interest in the Toyota Highlander we ended up purchasing. He was also very nice and patient in working with us. He and the dealership were accommodating in providing us a loaner car, since we had come from near Hershey, PA on a Saturday and had to wait for our car to be prepped and detailed for pick-up. Speaking of prepping and detailing the car, in this regard they also did a very nice job. Last of all, when going over the extended warranties available, the gentleman who handled that was very patient in making sure we understood and very thorough. Overall, it was a very good experience! I was able to get most of my questions and pricing negotiated via phone and email, and was in and out in under 2 hours, including a trade-in. Thank you for making car shopping easier! We found the car we had sought here. Internet. The salesman was great. The dealership's processes for internet buyers were not friendly. Second, after driving 3 hours to get to the dealership and not wanting to drive 3 hours home in the dark, the finance staff was so slow that we had to threaten to leave before anyone arranged for us to finish the DMV paperwork (the finance department) - and even then it took our salesman calling in a favor from the finance team at the Bill Kids Volvo dealership to get us out the door well after dark. The sales management team were not the least sympathetic to our situation. What a disappointment - the dealership knew for days we were coming and only the salesman appeared to appreciate our situation. We witnessed other customers leaving the dealership because of delays in meeting their needs. The bullpen where the sales managers sit, isolated, behind glass, seemed to say a lot to me about the experience we had. Bill Kidd would do well to go undercover and try to experience the dealership as an internet purchaser - it might lead to some process changes if the owner's heart is customer service first .... There are too many dealerships out there for me to put myself and my wife through another experience like this one. Two stars for salesperson's help. More
