When I asked the service tech if they could look at it, I was told “. We’re too busy, it will take 2 hours to diagnose and it will cost $140 dollars just to look at it” I felt like service did everything they could to discourage me from having a minor secondary problem looked at. My 1 month old Chevy Volt stalled and died while on the highway near Lisle. GM's roadside service left me on the highway for 90 minutes with no heat in my car with 9 degree outside temperatures. The tow truck driver dropped the car off around 6pm at the nearest Chevy dealer - Bill Kay. Service said that they could not provide me with a loaner vehicle and that current loaners are reserved for those who previously made appointments. I suppose I will schedule my brand new car to breakdown in advance so that Bill Kay can prepare. They said that their service department would call me at 7:30am with an update and that I needed to call in the morning to request a loaner vehicle. 8:30am, the next day, I had not received a call, so I decided to follow up on the loaner car and status of my vehicle. No status update was available. I was told that no loaner vehicles are available and that I could call back in the afternoon to request a loaner again. I requested a rental car, but was told that I could call Enterprise and Enterprise must have a GM car or I would be responsible for the cost of the rental. I was also told to contact Gjovik Chevy in Sandwich, IL (45 miles away) where I originally purchased my car 1 month ago to get a loaner. After calling Gjovik, the amazing Gjovik staff immediately took ownership, called GM roadside to have my car towed again to their dealership, and provided trouble free service. As a new Chevy, I recommend staying away from Bill Kay. The message that I received from them is that they will help you only if you bought from them and if you didn't purchase from them, then prepare to get a runaround. More
Terrible Service that Cares more about upselling Hi, I had some problems with my 2012 Sonic (check engine light came on). Turned out - air intake cracked. My Car was still covered under the Powert Hi, I had some problems with my 2012 Sonic (check engine light came on). Turned out - air intake cracked. My Car was still covered under the Powertrain warranty. Cost to replace the hose was around $100 but Dealer advised that I should change oil and get fuel injection cleaning services (around $200) unless “I WANT TO DRIVE WITH DEBRIS IN MY ENGINE”. Dealer made it sound that I will cause permanent damage to my car if would not proceed with additional services. Trusting them and caring about longevity of my car I agreed to pay. The service was not covered by the Powertrain warranty. Fast forward to March 2017, GM sent me a letter that they will reimburse the cost of repair. No additional info as to why but it sounded like it could be a design flow. I submitted the request for reimbursement of roughly $300. Dealer refused to submit that amount and agreed to only submit the hose replacement work. Contacted GM and they reinstated that they DID NOT RECOMMEND additional service and WILL NOT cover it. In other words GM does not think there are "debris in my engine" that could damage my car. Why did Dealer lie to me? It's beyond me. GM also contacted Tom B (Service Manager) but they could not get any resolution with him either. I spoke to him but he would not listen and would come back stating that I agreed to the Service. He would refuse to transfer me to a district manager saying that I can go through GM Customer Service. In summary. The dealer misled me, caring only for their profits and not caring for the customer and the relationship. GM did not recommend additional services and yet Dealer suggested that it would damage my car if I did not. I will never buy another Chevy particularly never do any business with Bill Kay Chevrolet. Working in the Banking industry I see how much effort we put in caring for our customers. These guys don't care. Beware!! I will be also writing a letter to Mary Barra (GM CEO) so she has insights into how her customers are treated. Thank you, More
Corvette service excellence I have a 2015 Corvette Z 51 with a dry sump engine. I had the oil changed at my local Chevy dealer who, by the way, did a terrible job. They used I have a 2015 Corvette Z 51 with a dry sump engine. I had the oil changed at my local Chevy dealer who, by the way, did a terrible job. They used the wrong oil ( Dexos instead of the recommended Mobil 1 ) overfilled it ( A huge problem in this particular engine ) and didn't wash the car when they were done. To add insult to injury, they deleted all my personal settings. I went to Bill Kay Chevrolet on the advice of a friend who is a Corvette enthusiast. Even though it was about 20 miles from my home, I could not be happier. The service guys treated my Corvette as if it were their own, and the car was perfect when they gave it back to me. Bill K will get all of my business concerning the Corvette going forward – great job guys! More

Horrible serivce experince I brought my 2012 Cruze to the service deparment on or about Dec 15 because there was a tapping noise coming from the engine and the emission control I brought my 2012 Cruze to the service deparment on or about Dec 15 because there was a tapping noise coming from the engine and the emission control warning light was on. There was also a burning type smell that seemed to be coming from the engine. The next day Mark called to advise that he had to get permission from GM to fix the car. Something about out of "process" and he needed an ok from GM That Friday I was called and told to come and get my car. The car was started and waiting for me As soon as I walked up to the car I heard that tapping sound and the emission control light was still on I went in and told Mark, he said "no it is fixed" and that a cylinder or cylinder head had been replaced so everything should be in good order. He went on to say that he had someone from "QC" drive the care al assured me all was in good order! It was not and I had to insist that he come out and see for himself. He agreed that the car was not fixed and he would call me when the car was ready. He again stated that this may take a while. I had a loaner and just wanted my car fixed. I told them to take their time, to make sure the car was properly taken care of and wished everyone a Merry Christmas. I received another phone call on 12/30 telling me the car was ready. I was and still am having some serious back issues and dreaded having to go to pick up the car, but I was happy that it was fixed and decided to go and pick the car up (during rush hour down Ogden). I got the care, no tapping sound but the engine sounded out of time and was just not running right. I attributed this so, or should I say hoped that, the reason was because it was sitting for so long. WRONG!! As soon as I pulled out and got approx. 1/4 or 1/mile down the road I noticed that the emission control light had come on AGAIN and the engine was not right. The acceleration was poor, it sounded like the timing was off. The performance was sub par, certainly not the car I was used to. I turned around and brought the car right back. I will admit to being angry and frustrated and was reminded by some lady, don't remember her name, but she said that this was "only a machine" and she would hate to be the mechanic that was going to get yelled at the next. I found her words of no comfort. I did not hear from the service department until on or about 1/4 or 1/5. Mark left a voice mail stating that my car was all "shiny and clean" but did not use the word fixed. When I called him back he said was wanted permission from me to keep the car overnight so that someone could drive it around (whatever that means as I thought he did that twice already). He went on to tell me that he replaced the cylinder head or the whole cylinder. There have been different versions of what is wrong and what will/was done so I am confused. I am at the point where I am skeptical with anything anyone from your service department has to say. I feel that I am being lied to, or at the very least, the victim of omission of truth. I am not confident that was is being told to me is accurate and I am not comfortable with any of the conversations taking place. I simply don't have any trust in to what I am being told. My car has been in shop since December 15. It is now Jan. 11 and I have no idea of what is wrong with my car. No one explained to be why the cylinder would trigger the emission control light and why, when the head or entire cylinder was replaced it seemed to have no affect on the engine performance. Does anyone know what they are doing? What is most frustrating however, is that my past experience with Bill Kay has been nothing less than excellent. More

He is not only honest, dependable, and caring, he is the biggest asset Bill Kay has in the service department. As for customer service, he can not be beat. I highly recommend Mark should you have a problem with your vehicle. He will make sure it is fixed the correct way. Joe Leone More
