We called in to make an appointment with the service department to get a duplicate key made for our Prius due to our normal dealer's key machine being out of service for a few days. The first clue that this wasn't going to be a good experience is that we were transferred 5 times before we spoke to someone that could schedule our appointment. Not a good first impression, but ok... it happens. We were told that making the duplicate would take at most 30 minutes, and from what I read online it is more like a 10 minute process. We arrived for our appointment 20-minutes earlier, and our car was taken back by what we were later told was "a service porter". Since the car was taken back right away and we were early, we figured that we would be done in just a little while. Wrong, so so wrong. After an hour my wife asked what was taking so long, and was told "I don't know, the technician is working on your car but there's no information in the system about it yet". The person she spoke to at least said that they would try to find something out. We never heard from her again. After 1-1/2 hours, we again asked another person what was taking so long. And again no information. Finally after over 2-hours some rude gentleman came and told us that the technician was having problems pairing the key with the car, and they had to get another key for our model from somewhere. The technician supposedly had been having the problem for over an hour at this point, but this is the first we received an update about it. Needless to say at this point my wife and I were livid, and when we expressed our frustration, he basically said "so what". After another 15 to 20 minutes, the same rude gentleman came back and told us that the key was finally done. He went over the "inspection" they did - that we did not ask for - to point out things that were supposedly wrong with the car in order to gouge us for "needed" service, and started trying to schedule a time for us to bring the car back for them to fix the issue. Needless to say, we told him we would take the car elsewhere. Amazingly, the inspection made no mention of the two LED light cels (out of 6 total) that were out in one of the brake lights, but it did mention something that another Toyota dealer's service department has told us is well within normal operating guidelines, but would have cost several hundred dollars "to fix". In all of this, they made no effort to try to make up for the poor service. Instead, we were treated as though we were in the wrong for expecting what should have been a 30 minute appointment taking over 2-1/2 hours by the time we completed checking out. I will never take our car back to this dealership for service, and I most definitely will be telling everyone I know about the horrible experience we had. More

Butler Toyota made my lease trade as simple as possible. I was able to trade in my 2011 Highlander for a 2013 version. I am always impressed by the overall service at Butler. I was more than ready to switch vehicles after dealing with numerous service issues and inefficient customer service on my Dodge Journey. Even though I was only 2.5 years into a purchase and still upside with numerous service issues and inefficient customer service on my Dodge Journey. Even though I was only 2.5 years into a purchase and still upside down on the Dodge, Andy Skinner worked whole-heartedly to place me into a vehicle that I enjoy, find reliable and fits my needs. We worked the numbers and I drove away in a brand new loaded Camry SE with a 3 year service plan and I'm paying $6.00 less per month. A huge thank you to Andy and Butler Toyota! My personal experience at Butler Toyota located on 96th/Keystone Ave has been sub-par at best. Several occasions, I have interacted with the staff, there has been a curt attitude towards assisting me. 96th/Keystone Ave has been sub-par at best. Several occasions, I have interacted with the staff, there has been a curt attitude towards assisting me. In summer of 2011, I had to bring my car into service, and there were at least 6 service advisors standing at their 'desks'. I saw two (2) employees just chatting, and I stood there with my car for at least 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged me. Most recently, I went to pick up a part at the parts department. After looking for nearly 15 minutes, I was told I needed to purchase an entire headlight unit, instead of just a headlight lens which I needed. This is not correct as I have seen on the internet that it was sold individually, and subsequently went to another Toyota dealer and was able to get the part ordered. I don't know if there is individual problem employees or a misunderstanding on proper customer service. These are both issues I struggle with when I go to a dealership and both issues are present. At the moment, Butler Toyota is the closest place for me, however; I can accept going to another location if it means better customer service and quality automotive advice. More
