If there was as option for negative stars, I would give it. I cannot believe how smug and rude the sales manages and the sales person was. There is a whole list of bad customer service I experienced. 1 it. I cannot believe how smug and rude the sales manages and the sales person was. There is a whole list of bad customer service I experienced. 1. They offer same day online quotes. I thought I would start there. After several hours of not hearing back from them, I called the sales manager via his cell number (which was on the email) as a follow up. Eric did answer his phone but was very condescending. He let me know that they are swamped with business and I should know this. He gave the distinct impression that my phone call was a disturbance to him. This was on a Tuesday morning at 11:30am. I have been in the process of searching for a car the last several months and have been in multiple dealers at various times of the day. With that said, not one dealer has been busy during the late morning hours in the middle of the week. Eric did let me know who my sales person was and I asked if he could give me a call in the next couple hours (not a lofty request). I never heard from the sales person and 3 hours after this call, I texted Eric and never heard back. 2. I called the dealer and spoke to Frank, my assigned sales person. Everything rises falls on leadership. Frank had the same, if not worse attitude toward the customer than Eric. He never did work on the same day internet quote as promised by their website. I told him what I was looking for and of course they only had one vehicle on the lot. I informed him that their inventory online has 4 of these vehicles. I was told to never trust their website on these matters. REALLY??? In a world that this is the first step for the customer, “Do not trust it” was his attitude. He proceeded to tell me (almost command me) that I need come in right now so he can sell me this car because he is going to sell it by the end of the day. This cocky attitude is ancient car sales tactic that just doesn’t work on me. I decided to not buy a car from Bill Brown Ford EVER because of my interaction with Eric and Frank. This attitude toward the customer was unacceptable. What was probably the worst part, I received an email the next day from Frank stating that he was right and he sold the only car on the lot that fit my criteria. That this point forward I must order in advance a car from him. I am not stupid; I get it that there is a shortage because of the chip deal. I ended up spending a little bit more and purchased a Dodge because of basic human courtesy and customer service. Every car dealer I have been in contact with in regards to purchase a vehicle, they were straight shooters: yes there is a chip shortage and the type of car you are looking for, really are not flying off the lots. Even by the remote chance that they were as busy as they said they were, no one should be treated with such haughtiness, snarkiness, patronizing ways these two-gentleman treated me. I suggest Bill Brown Ford be serious about the following: 1. Train you sales people common courtesy and to listen to the customer. 2. Follow through on what your website says in regards to same day quotes 3. Make sure your internet inventory actually matches your actual inventory. Do not train your salespeople to communicate to the customer “no not trust the internet inventory” In the future, I may purchase a Ford. But it will not be from Bill Brown Ford until they treat customers with respect. This is my experience – I hope other have a different one. More
I really appreciate Chris Miller’s approach to the customer: very factual, low pressure, good listener, and appreciative of the business. No one bothered to email or text me with information about the cars I wanted to look at. I would have test drove and possibly purchased a used vehicle here. about the cars I wanted to look at. I would have test drove and possibly purchased a used vehicle here. More
