They turn used cars over so fast with no exam they have no idea what they're selling. With over 40 years as a GM vehicle customer, more than 10 GM dealership trade/purchase interactions, user of the GM Employee Discount Program and being a retired executive from a service-based business, I ca GM dealership trade/purchase interactions, user of the GM Employee Discount Program and being a retired executive from a service-based business, I can honestly say that my experience with Betten Baker Chevrolet Muskegon is by far the worst. When I went to Betten Baker, I was recovering from cancer treatment and in between surgeries, looking for a vehicle so I would have a car when my daughter came to town to care for me after surgery (I had sold my previous vehicle in 2020 when I began treatment). After hours of back and forth with the sales person and feeling exhausted, I settled on a lease (2021 Buick Encore). Since September 2021, I have attempted to follow up with the dealership to clarify specifics of the lease items as well as discuss other concerns I had in relation to the negative dealer experience I encountered. My attempts at communication with Betten Baker include calls, texts and emails to the sales person Zachariah, sales manager Greg P., General Manager Adam H. (AH has since left the dealership), sales manager Robin B. and Customer Relations Manager Brenda Z. With the exception of BZ, none of the other individuals followed up in an effort to resolve/explain my concerns/questions. Once I felt strong enough to physically go to the dealership, I showed up unannounced and met with the Finance Manager Ben D. who explained the lease document. His explanation resulted in more concerns regarding deficiencies in how the dealership handled my transaction. BD offered to check into a trade deal that could satisfy me for their failings, which did not work out. I ended up declining to work with Betten Baker any further. Betten Baker took advantage of my situation, did not explain how excess mileage on the Encore adversely affected the lease, did not document the employee discount part of the transaction correctly and essentially did nothing that was in my best interest. I would discourage anyone from having any type of contact with this dealership and would rate zero stars if allowed. More
I purchased a new 2021 Chevy Silverado from (Betten on Henry st) , and at that time of the purchase a leveling kit so the front end did not appear to be sagging. When I picked up the truck I noticed that the front end was too high. I was told that it was because it was on a lift and that it would settle. It did not! So recently returned my truck to service and asked to have this corrected, the rear of my truck always appears like I am hauling some thing heavy. To my disappointment I was told that Betten could not fix this problem and that all Betten could do is remove it, at my expense. "Such BS" It was you parts and service providers that installed the wrong part. the leveling kit just made it look worst. It was also suggested that I could take to Monroe's and have them fix it. I have been a loyal customer for a very long time and Jenna and your service department just ended it. You know the saying. "screw me once, shame on you. screw me twice shame on me" I will be taking my business to Preferred in Grand Haven. The sad part is that Muskegon Brake is going to fix you mistake for under $300. I HATE, HATE, HATE Betten Baker in Muskegon! !! It’s been nothing but a nightmare dealing with them! Sold me 2 garbage vehicles, they didn’t honor the extended warranties on 2 vehicles from Bett !! It’s been nothing but a nightmare dealing with them! Sold me 2 garbage vehicles, they didn’t honor the extended warranties on 2 vehicles from Betten’s. They find some xx excuse, every time! Also next day after them checking credit and info I started receiving those con phone calls! They are giving our private information to everybody or selling it I’m almost positive, I doubt it was a coincidence! I’d give them negative 100 stars if I could! It’ll be a cold day in xxxx before I purchase or recommend them! I understand these may be manufacturers issues but I have many complaints about dealing with them personally! More

Loyal customer scammed with new car lease. Increased the agreed value of vehicle by $6,000. Walking from one desk to another. Didn't take off all of the money due at signing. We've been trying to get this resolved for four months now. We've been calling, asking if he's in building, leaving voice mails, contacting GM headquarters, compliant with GM, chatted online on Betten Baker website, texted with customer service. We just filed a compliant with BBB. We stopped in several times and we get the runaround. More
Bait, Switch and Lie I went into this dealership with a print out from Auto Navigator through Capital One. I was pre-approved for a specific vehicle with specific options I went into this dealership with a print out from Auto Navigator through Capital One. I was pre-approved for a specific vehicle with specific options at a specific price. After a test drive, I decided that is the one I wanted. I was never given a run-through of the vehicle and where to access all of the options but as soon as I got home I realized they had charged me the right price but gave me the model with fewer options than I was supposed to receive. I have spent weeks arguing and meeting with the GM Mark and New Car Sales Manager Heath. All they have done is put me off and keep telling me they have found a solution but never tell me what the solution is. Finally, I complained to the BBB and the dealer response was that I found a vehicle with more options AFTER I had agreed to purchase the lesser model. Liars, cheaters, and thieves. More

You are just a dollar sign here and they want nothing more than your money. Communication with their customers is absolutely awful. I would have to constantly check in with them wondering when my truck would be ready to only waste my time going all the way to Muskegon to find out it wasn’t even ready. I was given a loaner that was absolutely DANGEROUS to drive and the only way I could get a safer more reliable loaner was to drive the death trap back to them. Made no effort to bring me a car or compromise with me. I sent emails asking questions, no response. I asked for SPECIFIC mechanical inspections such as suspension, brakes, tires, alignment etc. and if they were in good shape. They said all was well and gave me a report that said only a filter needed to be replaced. FALSE!! I just paid $1,600 in repairs that I had specifically asked for them to look at and make sure where good! Promises where made that they didn’t hold up to. I could give my experience from beginning to end but it would take pages to explain the nightmare I experienced and still am. For what should have been an a great milestone in my life, buying the truck of my dreams, turned into nothing but a negative sad depressing ordeal. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE! More
