Dfie5351 - Thank you for taking the time to write a review your sales experience at Bernardi Honda. We strive to provide outstanding customer service with every customer. I realize we have missed that mark with what took place with your purchase. The first part of your review speaks to not hearing any word back after a week plus from your sales person or management. I fully agree that this is inexcusable. Unfortunately, there were problems with your credit and getting the deal approved at the bank. These problems do not excuse our team from keeping you up to date everyday with what progress is being made. You should have constantly updated. The second part of your review talks about your Honda Accord being part of a “Class Action Law Suit” for brake pads prematurely wearing out. The class action settlement provides a court approved procedure for customers to seek reimbursement for some of the costs of rear brake pad replacements. Under the approved procedure, customers must pay for the rear brake pad replacement and then seek reimbursement through the claims process. All claims and reimbursements, whether for past or current brake pad replacements, will be handled by an independent Third Party Settlement Administrator. The Third Party Settlement Administrator reviews each claim request and approves reimbursement based on the terms of the court approved settlement. Reimbursement decisions are made solely by the Third Party Settlement Administrator. Should a customer dispute the decision of the Third Party Settlement Administrator, that dispute will be handled in accordance with the arbitration review procedures found in the customer’s Honda warranty booklet (i.e. Better Business Bureau) and is binding. Honda dealers and American Honda Motor Co., Inc. are not part of the claim approval process. You go on to say that you “put down a deposit of $250 to hold a Honda Civic Si with NAV. You didn’t just leave a deposit you actually executed several documents and leased a vehicle. Dealership paperwork shows you not only signed a purchase and sale agreement, initialed (writing is in bold print) the deposit is non-refundable, signed odometer statements, signed lease agreements with American Honda Finance Company to lease a vehicle. I believe that was at the root of why the sales department refused to give you a refund. You did speak with Tim McGilvray and he assisted you on getting a new lease agreement issued on a lesser equipped Civic Si. I have the same opinion as you that there was another communication problem with your salesperson. When he wasn’t able to locate your first color choice and he should have notified you about getting your second choice. I apologize to you for the poor communication, frustrating experience you encountered. I want to thank you for your repeated business and for bring this matter to our attention. Without comments like yours I don’t always have a way of knowing about negative situations that occasionally occur at our dealership. I would like to make sure that this type of occurrence doesn’t happen again at our dealership. Thank you for your business and feedback. – Joel Richards, General Manager.
