I truly dread the car buying experience because most dealerships operate the same way. You show up, and you work with a sales associate who is not empowered to make any kind of decision (I think they need to ask permission prior to offering you a bottle of water or a cup of coffee). Then you spend the majority of the time sitting at a desk by yourself why your sales associate is in another office with a manager. Eventually the sales associate comes back and you ask them a question or tell them you are not happy with the numbers and they disappear again. Usually this happens 2 or 3 times and then the sales manager finally graces you with their presence, but they generally don’t help the situation. You want to leave but can’t because your keys are in another office and you have to listen to the manager tell you that they are giving you their best offer. You eventually get your keys and leave only to get a phone call the next day with a better price on the vehicle. Doesn’t really build trust when the manager tells you one thing the day before and then they do something different the next day. Now for the Carfagno experience. I arrived at the dealership about an hour before closing one night. I looked over the truck I was interested in, and then went into Pete’s office. We sat there and just talked about a variety of things most importantly though we talked numbers on the vehicle. At no point in time did Pete disappear for long periods of time to talk with a manager. Pete was honest and upfront and put the dealership's best price forward on the truck I wanted. As it was almost closing time I did have to go back the next day to have my trade appraised, and finalize the numbers. I show up and got my trade amount within 15 minutes, and the numbers were right where Pete said they would be. I let Pete know that I wanted to think about the purchase, and he understood. I touched base a couple of times with Pete over the next couple of days and the one thing I was happy about was we never talked numbers. The price that I was quoted the first time never changed which makes me feel confident that the dealership was not taking advantage of me. I did end up purchasing the truck and delivery was just as simple as the entire buying experience. I showed up to take delivery during my lunch break from work and was out of the dealership within an hour. I was also delighted that I didn’t have to spend hours in the finance manager’s office hearing about extended warranties, leather seat sealing, clear coat protection and everything else they try to sell last minute to you. In Summary if you are looking for a no pressure, no hassle car buying experience you should start at Carfagno. This is a dealership that understands what customers want, and all of the staff I dealt with was great especially Pete. Pete went above and beyond and completely exceeded my expectations. don't waste your time be prepared to do all, i repeat, all your research on your potential used car before choosing to go to this dealership. the cars here are very over pr be prepared to do all, i repeat, all your research on your potential used car before choosing to go to this dealership. the cars here are very over priced, and they are extremely unwilling to do any negotiating with you on an offer. they wait for an uneducated car buyer to come along and try to convince them they are getting a good deal. the cars are priced $6-8000 over what they paid for the trade in of that car, and wont except anything less. huge huge rip off. not only that, look around at what others in the area have paid for the same exact car with the same spec, chances are all were sold at at least $4-5000 less then what they are trying to suck out of you. good luck!
