Dear Mr. & Mrs. Ryan P1183, Our staff has never used profanity during any of our conversations with you! You’re both certainly aware of how your wife spoke with several members of our staff and the Customer Assistance Center representative at Mercedes-Benz USA. We have done our best to address the issue with your vehicle that was a result of a large milk spill inside your vehicle. Benzel-Busch must adhere to the policies and procedures of your insurance company when carrying out repairs that are paid for by them. With reference to your claim, Benzel-Busch requested seat cover replacement approval from your insurance company during the initial portion of the repairs. Your Insurance company initially denied our request and instructed us to contact Serve Pro to clean the interior of your vehicle using chemical products. We refused to do this and only after several conversations with the insurance appraiser were we finally able to convince your insurance company to agree to replace the required parts that included the seat cover to eliminate the odor inside your vehicle. While we understand that you’re rightfully upset about the circumstances surrounding this matter no one at Benzel-Busch has ever attacked or verbally abused your wife! Our loaner vehicle that was provided to your wife free of charge was returned to our facility damaged. We immediately notified your wife and as per our Loaner Agreement with her we charged her for the required repairs at our “cost”. With regards to your deductible we’re sorry but legally we cannot negotiate with you regarding your insurance deductible as that would be clearly an act of insurance fraud. Benzel-Busch and their staff are not thieves and run a totally transparent Service and Collison Center operation. In closing your request for compensation for down time is not reasonable as this issue was not a product related warranty failure. Benzel-Busch did however provide your wife with a new Mercedes-Benz loaner vehicle for the entire time your vehicle was being repaired in an effort to minimize the inconvenience that was caused by this very unfortunate situation. If you recall this was offered by Benzel-Busch because you did not have rental car coverage on your insurance policy.
