We drove our car there -- had to tow it to take it elsewhere There is no short version of our experience that adequately captures how ridiculously bad our experience was with Beechmont Subaru's service departmen There is no short version of our experience that adequately captures how ridiculously bad our experience was with Beechmont Subaru's service department. From the beginning... We took 2005 Subaru Outback we had bought from Beechmont Subaru years ago in for service to check on a turbocharge replacement done by third party a year prior. We had noticed a faint burning rubber smell over the past four months and I figured a seal was shot or at least improperly seated. Communication was immediately made difficult. A week of phone tag pursued. Each time we called and left a message requesting a quote be emailed to us. Every time they called and left us a useless "call me" voicemail with no additional information while we were at work. Their phones also went down during the week with a Verizon cannot connect message. Finally I got their service department on the phone, and they emailed a quote. They also informed us that the turbo was blown. Really? Blown? We drove the car there just fine and it was literally replaced a year ago. As for the quote, well you be the judge: TURBO BLOWN UP, TURBO REPLACEMENT (INCLUDING RELATED REPAIRS: GASKETS TO TURBO, OIL LINES TO TURBO, INNER COOLER GASKETS, AND OIL PAN PULLED & FLUSHED) IS $2575 + TAX. PCV VALVE CLOGGED, $65 + TAX. OIL COOLER GASKETS LEAKING OIL, $130 + TAX. VALVE COVERS LEAKING OIL, $449 + TAX. TOP & LOWER INTAKE GASKETS LEAKING OIL, $491 + TAX. CAM SEALS LEAKING OIL, RECOMMEND REPLACING TIMING BELT AT SAME TIME, $732 + TAX. FRONT & REAR STRUTS NOISY / NEED REPLACEMENT, ALL STRUTS $1310 + TAX. FRONT CONTROL ARMS NOISY / NEED REPLACEMENT, $755 + TAX. Ridiculous prices well over twice what I would have expected from anywhere else. For the record, there isn’t so much as a drop of oil on our driveway which is pretty amazing because based on the quote I’m hard pressed to think of anywhere on the engine they didn’t say we were leaking oil from aside from. Most of these parts are $150-$250 OEM (aside from struts and turbo) … so what is your labor rate again?!? We picked up the car today with the intention to take it just 5.3 miles to another shop we have been fond of for many years. Care to guess how far the car got from Beechmont Subaru? About 600 feet before white smoke poured out the exhaust and into the cabin. We turned around and went back to Beechmont Subaru in a cloud of white smoke so thick that in the 600 foot return trip a police officer started following the car. Back at the service desk, the manager there has the gall to stand his ground that they didn’t do anything to the car aside from an oil change and a rust spray coating of a brake pipe (a recall item). Apparently, he was a 17 year veteran in the industry, and it showed with how he protected the dealership from the blatantly apparent situation that our car, dropped off in working order, now wasn’t fit to drive. He offered to keep the car overnight and “look it over.” Why would we bother losing another day to what is quickly measuring up to be extortion? Now I get that turbos go bad but, again, we just replaced it just a year before… so what happened here? More

It was Ap On the lot that day I should have walked away when he said the battery was weak from sitting in the cold on the lot and just needed a jump. It was April Fools Day. I trusted him to be an honest and knowledgeable salesman. He said the air blew cold and it did. Of course the air conditioner was totally wasted and it was just cold outside air that day. You for sure could feel it change from hot to cold on high fan that day. After a new battery and then a new starter it was determined there were deeper issues within that motor and why it would not turn over at times. That would not start condition arose too many times over the one year we tolerated this vehicle purchased from the dealership. We paid a prime price and assumed they were selling good used cars. Buyer beware. We really lost out on our investment and feel we will never go back to this dealership again. Never! More
Unbelievably DISHONEST & Terrible Customer Service! I had been working with Tom Friesen to purchase a certified pre-owned 2017 Subaru Forrester that was on the lot. Immediately I noticed that the air co I had been working with Tom Friesen to purchase a certified pre-owned 2017 Subaru Forrester that was on the lot. Immediately I noticed that the air conditioner was not working, even though it has supposedly gone through a 100+ point inspection. Tom said he'd pull it off the lot right away, not let anyone else test drive or look at it, and have the air conditioner fixed in a few days and then we could purchase the car if we so chose. While the car was being fixed, I had a conversation with Tom on the phone about the price. We had not yet agreed on price, he had only told me what the purchase price was. I shared with Tom the research I had done on KBB and Autotrader. He immediately became angry and argumentative and acted like I was crazy for even suggesting we discuss price. I tried to hear his arguments because he did have some good points, but it was difficult because he was so rude in his delivery. Why a used car salesman would be frustrated or offended when a customer wants to discuss price is beyond me. Seems like a normal part of the job. The conversation ended with him telling me the dealership might come down a few hundred dollars, that'd he'd speak with the store manager and then call me back. I received a text message not much later saying he was leaving for the day and would be back in the morning. The next morning, instead of following up with me on the price, he sent a text stating that he sold the car to someone else. I contacted the sales manager, Alex Ertel, to express my frustration that Tom never returned our call about price and my disappointment that Tom was dishonest, telling us no one else would have the opportunity to look at the car while it was being repaired. Alex didn't say much, mostly just made thin excuses. It was clear that Tom had only given him half the story, and he wasn't much interested in listening to what I had to say. My husband and I also expressed our disappointment to Tom about the way we were treated. He texted back blaming Alex for our mistreatment. We did not get an apology from anyone at Beechmont Subaru, only pointing of fingers and poor excuses. I will be purchasing a Subaru, but I will not be purchasing from Beechmont Subaru. I will not work with a salesman who gets angry and acts rude for no reason, makes and breaks promises, and acts dishonestly. And I will not work with a company who stands behind their employees behaving in this manner. More

A few thousand miles in I noticed the oil was just disappearing from the engine. It wasn't leaking and it wasn't burning. My thought is that it was blowing past the piston rings. Every 1,200 miles the car would consume a quart of oil. That's not normal. I took the car back to the dealer, a hour and a half away, three times for three separate oil consumption tests. The first two tests they denied that there was an issue with the engine. The third test, approximately 20,000 miles on the car, they finally admitted there was an issue. So they replaced the block under warranty. A few thousand miles later I go to check my oil and there red fluid on the engine near the seals. Come to find out they used the wrong sealant to seal the engine. So they completely re-sealed the engine. I took my car in to get an oil change a couple weeks ago at a Subaru dealer in Colorado and they noticed my car was leaking oil. My Subaru only has 53,xxx miles on it now. The service department found that is leaking oil from everywhere and they have to completely re-seal the engine (for a third time). I will probably never own another Subaru. I definitely will not bring my business to Beechmont Subaru service if I ever do own another Subaru or move back to Ohio with my current vehicle. More

I don't enjoy push salesmen/women or the back and forth with a manger style that most dealerships employ. I just purchased a truck at this location yesterday (2/6/17) and i could not have had a better experience. Brandon Sink (who i cannot find to rate) was absolutely GREAT. He not only stayed late, Much past his normal time to accommodate my wife and I, but did so with such enthusiasm. He was upbeat, nice, not pushy at all. He understood our needs and met them. Not only will i be back for my next car, and i live an hour away, but i will recommend your dealership to family and friends looking for both new and used cars. Thank you for providing a GREAT experience. More
