I did some research ahead of arriving at the dealership so I knew what vehicles I was there to test drive. Upon my arrival I was pleased to see the two vehicles I had been considering were out front and ready for my inspection and test drives. I was promptly greeted and made to feel relaxed and not pressured by anyone. I am pleased to say we purchased a new vehicle. David was very helpful answering any and all questions I had before my arrival and very thorough explaining all of my new vehicles options and hardware before we left. Kevin made our loan process go quite smoothly and easily! Thanks to everyone. I will definitely be a repeat customer and would highly recommend Beau Townsend Ford to anyone!!!!!! More
Ford has been the only brand I have purchased for many years and most of the time I have dealt with Beau Townsend. I recently went to Beau Townsend for installation of a recall corrective actionon my wif years and most of the time I have dealt with Beau Townsend. I recently went to Beau Townsend for installation of a recall corrective actionon my wife's 2005 Marquis. While waiting for the repair, I went into the showroom and started talking to Tim Peffley about a new (2013) truck since I was considering buying one while the 2013 model year rebates were in effect. Tim talked with me on my questions and showed me what he had available on the lot. He also checked on the computer for trucks available from other Ford dealers to provide me with options. I returned a couple of days later with my wife to show her what I had in mind and again we talked with Tim. Both my wife and I were very comfortable with the way Tim treated us and how he answered our questions straightforwardly and without pressure. If he did not have an answer to my question, he didn't try to "wing it" but looked up or called someone to get me an accurate answer. I highly appreciate that type of attitude and treatment. I returned the next day and we discussed a specific truck and Tim walked me through the price and discounts and made sure I understood the details. I subsequently bought the truck from Tim and he took me to Kevin Berger to get the loan and fill out all the necessary paperwork. Like Tim, Kevin went through everything and answered all my questions in a friendly straightforward manner. We also discussed extended warranty and the various options and I never felt pressured to buy an extended warranty package which I have not purchased in the past either. However, after discussing the various packages with Kevin, I decided this time to purchase one. The only negative issue I had was with the rebates. I expected the rebate to reduce the pretax cost of the new truck but in fact only a portion of the discounts were pretax and therefore I had to pay sales tax on the amount that was deducted afterward. I discussed that with Kevin and found out that the State of Ohio required the calculation that way and it was not something Beau Townsend (or any other dealer) could change. So while I considered that a large negative, it in no way reflects on the people or the dealer. Also, while the service department was not involved with this purchase, my past dealings with the Beau Townsend service department were almost always very positive, that also counted in my decision to buy from Beau Townsend. I have ALWAYS loved the sales experiences I have had. When it comes to this dealership the problems I have had have been with the service group. I'm not sure if it's in experience in the mechanics and supervisors don't pay attention or what. I just had service done on the Focus I traded in and the next day there was oil leaking on garage floor. Before..when I had MAJOR work..transmission and front end work..they left parts dangling and loose. I had to take it in several times to have things corrected. It was very frustrating to say the least. At one point..I kept telling them their was a clunking in front passenger and they never did get it right. .my husband found that the strut was NOT tightened down..AND he fixed it. Had been shopping for new truck for a month. Came across Beau Townsend web site; they are approximately 45 minutes from my house. After trying unsuccessfully to get new truck pricing after Ford rebates, I found the web site did an excellent job of giving all of this information in real time. The sales rep, George, was helpful in keeping the process painless. Because of the web site, I was able to show up with 5 trucks I wanted to see. George showed me one used truck in addition to 4 of the 5 I asked to see. A couple hours after arriving on the lot, I was pulling out with my new truck. Easy transaction. All aspects of the deal were easy. George was never a high pressure salesman. When we got home, my wife said, she'll definitely go back when we are ready to replace her car. More
