Our sales person hood winked us. Car was advertised at one price but sold at a higher price. CAUTION - online finance pre-qualification WILL hit your credit despite the web site's language suggesting otherwise. This is not a problem is you have decided to buy from them BUT if you are lured into the credit despite the web site's language suggesting otherwise. This is not a problem is you have decided to buy from them BUT if you are lured into the pre-qualification online thinking it will not affect your credit (because it states that) and you are still shopping, this could cause an issue if you try to go elsewhere in the next 45 to 60 days trying to get your best APR. I cannot speak to the service or even what the people are like in the sales process. What I do know it did not benefit me at ALL to apply for credit when I haven't even looked at their inventory or talked to a salesperson, so I had not inventive to authorize a credit pull. And the web site states clearly that the pre-qualification process would not affect my credit, and yet I got a notice from Experian and Equifax 2 days later after I was on their web site that they had in fact pulled my credit. A quote from BDC Internet Manager Ann Gorton in an email to me " It is not sent to the creditors for approval yet. It is not a hard pull as we call it soft pull." Call it a "soft pull" if you like, it showed up on my Equifax report and affected my score. I have done pre-qualifications with Capital One and Westlake and this was never an issue. For whatever reason, the communication from this place misrepresents what is stated on the web site about the pre-qualification process. So then I naturally wondered, if this was such a convoluted, misleading process, what does that indicate about doing business with them? I know what my inclinations are but you can read this and decide for yourself. I would just urge anyone to approach this organization with a sense of chronic unease and do not let your guard up or presume the ethics or integrity are always aligned with what you may have hoped for or expected. Again, they may be delightful, professionals that strive to delight customers, I have nothing personal against them, I do not know them as people. But at the very least, somewhere in their system it appears, at best, to be deceitful baiting practices at work. More
