Horrible experience! ! Purchased a “Certified Vehicle”, in October 2022, took it to service department within a few days of purchase for noise on front end. Service depart ! Purchased a “Certified Vehicle”, in October 2022, took it to service department within a few days of purchase for noise on front end. Service department changed out driver side front hub. Took vehicle back in late November for more concerns. They kept my vehicle for 4 and months with no repairs done. Picked up vehicle in March with the same problems. It has been there longer than in my possession due to poor service department. Now vehicle is back in service for a/c compressor going out. Do not trust the “certified vehicle” program!! More
What started out as a great used car buying experience with Bayer Automotive in Comanche has turned into a FINANCIAL DISASTER for us. We made the drive from Abilene on 12/30/2019 and bought a used 2009 Do with Bayer Automotive in Comanche has turned into a FINANCIAL DISASTER for us. We made the drive from Abilene on 12/30/2019 and bought a used 2009 Dodge Dakota Crew Cab for $8,500. We test drove the truck and all seemed great so we bought it. Two weeks later, the brakes started making a grinding sound and we had to replace the brake pads and rotors. I chalked that up to deferred maintenance. One month later (February 2020), the truck started making metallic popping sounds in the front steering and suspension area. We took it to our mechanic and it turns out that the ball joints (top and bottom), the axle, the struts, and both controller arms need total replacement. There were no rubber gaskets left - it was metal on metal grinding. The cost of these repairs? $4,481 - over HALF of what we paid for this truck in December 2019!!! I emailed our Bayer salesman and the used car sales manager to let them know what happened to see if they'd take some kind of responsibility, but no response from anyone at Bayer...just crickets chirping. I realize that there is no warranty on our truck - BUT how could they put a truck on the sales lot and not know it needed MAJOR expensive repairs if they'd done even a basic inspection on it beforehand?! Truck had a nice detail job and looked great on the lot...but talk about putting lipstick on a pig! If you buy a used vehicle from Bayer, BE SURE TO HAVE YOUR MECHANIC CHECK OUT THE VEHICLE BEFORE YOU BUY IT. If we had known our truck had these problems, we would've NEVER bought it from Bayer. What a HUGE disappointment this experience has been. Never again and we don't recommend this dealership to anyone. UPDATED REVIEW 2/28/2020: I continue to stand by my one-star review of Bayer Motors. I spoke to their management today and they will do nothing to help us with the $5,000+ of repairs this truck needed after only two months of ownership. Folks, before you buy a used car from these people, BE SURE you have a mechanic thoroughly look over the car first. We got burned big time. The truck was a piece of "as-is" junk and we got left holding the bag. More
