Even though I purchased this vehicle at another dealership, Bay Ridge Subaru will be my home for service and oil changes going forward. I was provided with wifi, coffee, snacks, and water, while my car got a recall handled, an indicator light checked out, and an oil change. Michael updated me each step of the way as my tech made assessments on the car. I was able to drive the car home in the early afternoon, and my car seemed incredibly happy and ready to be driven to the next adventure. While I still have 2,000 miles before I have to come back in, I look forward to seeing Michael and his coworkers in the service department again. Thank you! More

The car is a lemon, the service a hiustle the left front headlight on my 2009 Subaru Tribeca went out, so I looked in the manual to see how to change it. There I found a lengthy, complicated the left front headlight on my 2009 Subaru Tribeca went out, so I looked in the manual to see how to change it. There I found a lengthy, complicated procedure for changing the light bulb.....which had a special note at the end ":: If you need to replace your front LEFT light, you must call the dealer." So I guess I have to take this in. Well, that's ok. I needed new wiper blades, and as it turns out, the Tribeca driver side and passenger side wiper blades are different sizes, and the driver's side wiper is some kind of crazy, unorthodox size that I couldn't find anywhere at Pep Boys, Auto Zone, or any other parts place near me. Fine, I'll bring it in. I make an appointment. When I arrive at the Subaru dealership, I confirm that I want the light fixed and the wiper addressed. The fast talking gentleman asked me "do you want us to check all your lights to see if they need fixing?" this as my first mistake. I said "ok." The hustler comes in with an estimate sheet describes what they're going to do. It's like, $40-50. Cool, I began to wait, thinking this would be a quick procedure. I stood outside on the street because I was restless, and saw the car in the bay. No one working on it. An hour passed, eventually there's a guy putzing around with the car. I go inside and wait. The fast talking hustler they sent comes back in with another estimate, saying that they've checked all the other ligths (they are ok), and they are going to go ahead and do the work they said they'd do. he shows me an estimate now: it's $85. Hm. Ok whatever, I guess that's "how they get you" Another hour goes by, the wipers fixed, the lightbulb is fixed, and finally I'm called in to the cash register room where I am directed to approach the counter and talk to the lady. The final bill was $150 to change a headlight and get a new wiper installed. I paid it, I didn't gripe, but the whole thing left a really bad taste in my mouth and very disappointed that Subaru would use such crappy business practices. When I looked at the WORK SUMMARY on my bill it said: "Client mentioned that his headlight was out, requested that we fix the light and check the others as well"....which is a lie. The hustler Subaru has welcoming people to the service center brought it up and i acquiesced; he was the impetus, not I - as the note would imply. Why the deception, Subaru? The fact that the car needs a dealer to change a headlight is bad enough - the fact that engaging with the dealer to get this work done involved upselling and putting the squeeze on with 2 hours of work billed when much less than that was actually done felt fraudulent. I came to get my headlight fixed, and left feeling shook down. More

He heard the thump noise and we stopped the car. He looked under the driver seat and found a flashlight that was making the noise. I had no idea that the flashlight was under there. An excellent experience Courteous and efficient. Scheduling was easy, they were ready to start the work when I arrived, and the cost was reasonable. Michael Otero clearly e Courteous and efficient.
