Here’s the problem we have had our vehicle serviced there for 2 years and the 3rd year we take it for an inspection. Never had a problem with ac/defrost etc. I mentioned to the service guy that the engine would idle a little high in first and second gear to check that out for me. Well after waiting for 3 1/2 hrs for an inspection he comes back and claims my defrost switch isn’t working and in order for it to pass inspection I have to have it working. So I’m like no never had a problem with the switch turning from defrost to air conditioning. Well It’s going to run about $450 I’m like wait what??? This car is 2 1/2 years old is there a recall for this or something? Tells me no and said I must have it fixed. So I’m like well let me see it. He takes me to the back to speak to the mechanic. Why does the mechanic have my whole radio panel (factory) taken apart and look startle when I asked him what he was doing. Clearly did not give anyone permission to take apart my radio dash and everything. When he saw me he had his arm in the back of the paneling like he disconnected something and with a startling look on his face was like oh I think it’s fixed I can pass you now. However now the switch is broken and doesn’t work the ac doesn’t even work. If the switch was originally broken why or who gave you permission I didn’t to tamper with it before allowing me to see it not working before you disassembled the radio dash. This is a scam because I was getting free oil changed and inspections and this mechanic felt the need to make some extra bonus $$$. Will never Ever take any of my vehicles there again NEVER EVER. BUYER BEWARE SCAMMERS More
One hour for a oil change. I had a appointment for 7:30am. This was my 3rd 5000 oil change. No good morning. Staff appeared overwhelmed at 7:30am. The first oil change took 20min. 2nd took almost 2 hours. This one a hour. Why can't I have my oil changed somewhere else. I don't mind paying for it. Your customer service needs a inservice on customer relations. Definitely need to have a couple of people who do just oil changes. Same with the Chesapeake dealership. I brought 2 cars. Service Department Ripoff I would give zero stars if I could! My 81 year old Mom took her 2012 Rogue to Banister Nissan yesterday to get an inspection, an oil/filter change, I would give zero stars if I could! My 81 year old Mom took her 2012 Rogue to Banister Nissan yesterday to get an inspection, an oil/filter change, and her wipers replaced. They did all of that, and no issues with those services. However, they also talked her into getting the Bilstein engine flush, a brake system flush, and a fuel system cleaning/flush. I think they charged my Mom in excess of $250 for those services, and none of them were needed. My Mom's car only has 28K miles on it. An engine flush "could" be beneficial in an old car, where regular oil was used and not changed very often. My Mom's car only has 28K miles on it and has always had full synthetic oil on regular changes. As for the fuel system flush, give me a break. Fuel injectors "can" get dirty, in about 80K miles. Certainly not at 28K miles, and even if they were, a can of fuel injector cleaner can fix that - not a $100 service at the dealership. Finally, the brake system flush is pretty much a cash grab and a predatory service pushed upon people that don't know anything about vehicle maintenance. The brake system is a closed system. It would never need to be flushed unless it was somehow contaminated, and I'm not even sure how that it could happen on it's own. It's xxxx unlikely on a low mileage car. Clearly this dealership saw my Mom as an easy mark, and she usually calls me BEFORE she allows anyone to do any work. She didn't this time, and these criminals took full advantage of her. Joe Wachner, the Service Manager there, is clearly running a predator like service department, taking advantage of people who don't know any better. He should be ashamed! My Dad was a career Marine, and if he was still with us, he would be in there ripping this dealership a new one. And I'm not local, or I'd be in there doing the same. I did reach out to them yesterday, and to this point they have ignored my inquiries. My Mom, an 81 year old military widow is on a fixed budget and doesn't deserved to be ripped off like this. And really cannot afford to be. I implore the Tidewater military community to stay away from Banister Nissan. And really, all of Tidewater. No one deserves to get ripped off, and that's what this place does. They rip you off. Hit them where it counts the most. Take your business elsewhere. More

The service guy did apply some type of discount so I agreed to this amount. Now almost 3 years later, I’m having the same Issue, same location on my vehicle . I called the service center to ask about OEM parts and warranty and was advised by a service manager Taylor that after market parts were used, it should’ve been used and the employees who did the work, no longer work there. Unsure of why she’s telling me that they are no longer employed because the company is still Nissan. She then told me that she would speak with her manager. After numerous callbacks to the service center I was told that aftermarket parts are not under warranty and there is nothing that can be done about this, however no where on my receipt states that I was not getting my original parts. I am so upset. I Understand that time had passed but as a loyal customer to this location(every oil change) and so fourth. This should’ve never happen. I paid for a service that wasn’t rendered. I’m now contacting corporate. I’m very disappointed More
