They have had my truck since 2/7 and repairs were supposed to begin 2/10. They are now telling me my truck will not be ready until approximately 3/7! Unacceptable for the amount of damage done. I spoke with three different people about what had been done so far and they all had different answers. Andy finally stated he did not want to work on it so I am arranging to have it towed somewhere else. More
My truck’s transmission gave out while I was in Little Rock visiting. I took my truck to Bale and they diagnosed the issue and told me it would take them 4 days. 9 days later, with no outreach from th Rock visiting. I took my truck to Bale and they diagnosed the issue and told me it would take them 4 days. 9 days later, with no outreach from them, I had to leave 5 messages over 2 days to get Kevin, the service director, to reach back out to me. Turns out, he wants to add $500 because he isn’t able to get a transmission. The frustration came to me on the multiple lies that were said in that conversation. I called three other GM dealers who would be able to have a transmission in less than two days. The issue is my truck was already broken down at Bale. In hindsight, I would have towed my truck to another dealer to have them do the transmission replacement. Not to mention Bale told me the warranty was 50,000 miles on the new transmission while the GM website says 100,000 miles. Of course they aren’t helping me on that front, just a “I’d call GM if I were you”. When Bale customers learned my truck was at Bale, they told me things had gone downhill since Kevin took over. Understatement of the year! It’s not the pricing, general lack of knowledge about the product, or even the slow turnaround. It’s the lying to customers that puts me in a situation to warn potential customers in a community I care about. More
In April 2021 I needed brakes and rotors resurfaced on my 2018 Chevy Traverse. I bought my SUV from Bales and this is my 1st time replacing my brakes. I verbally told customer service technician replace my 2018 Chevy Traverse. I bought my SUV from Bales and this is my 1st time replacing my brakes. I verbally told customer service technician replace my brakes with the GM brand that is already on the truck. She said ok. I paid $289. When I drove my truck home could tell immediately something was wrong. The brakes shaking and squealing and it sounded like a bus when every time I stopped! I took the truck back about 2 weeks later and told them what it was doing and they checked it out. They didn't see anything wrong, but they adjusted them and I should be fine now. Drove it home and kept doing the same thing! The 3rd time I decided to bring it back I called the Service Manager Kevin and told him what happened he said he would look into it. Kevin texted me back in a group text with the original customer service rep and tried to charge me $568 for another set of brakes and rotors! ABSOLUTELY NOT!.... is what I said and they adjusted them again and gave it back and they still wasn't right. Fast forward to 9/17/2021 I brought my truck for routine oil change and tire rotation and some one else waited on me. That's when I found out that the original customer service rep put the after market value brakes on my truck after I specifically asked for the original GM brand to be placed back on my truck. These cheap brakes that didn't ask for damaged the rotors they needed to be replaced. Bales took care of the rotors but made me pay for a new set of brakes. I paid $293.44 that day. So almost $600 in less than 6 months for brakes that was unnecessary if Bales would have but the brand on my SUV that I ask for back in April. Very poor customer service. Whether they did this unintentional or not, a simple apology and refund would suffice. It's got me wondering do I ask to see all my parts when they replace them going forward to ensure I get exactly what I ask for! More
We went and looked at a used Chevy Suburban on a Wednesday. We drove 3 hours to look at it. We liked it signed papers and drove it off the lot. We got stopped in rush hour traffic and went to take o Wednesday. We drove 3 hours to look at it. We liked it signed papers and drove it off the lot. We got stopped in rush hour traffic and went to take off and the truck lurched forward. Like it had been hit from behind. Forgot about it because it was 5 o'clock and we had a 3 hour drive home. It did it again on that weekend during a drive. I checked the transmission fluid and it was black on the dip stick. This is usually an indication that the transmission is going out. I contacted the dealer. And was directed to talk to the sales manager Jeffy. He had nothing to say except you signed an "as is" and refused aftermarket insurance. The truck does have 140,000 miles so it is not a warranty. He didn't care they sold a bad vehicle he didn't care it had safety concerns. Just wanted to tell me about all the papers they had me sign. I have since filed a BBB complaint and they said bring it in even though you signed an "as is". We will make sure you get a discount on repairs. I believe they knowingly sold me a broken vehicle so that they could invite me in to pay them to repair it. More
Went to look at a 2013 Chevy Suburban with 140,000 miles. Liked it drove off the lot and on the way home we got stuck in traffic on the highway. The truck lurched forward. Pulled the dip stick and looked and the transmission fluid is brown. Called the dealer and they said there is nothing we can do you signed an "as is" and declined warranty "crappy third party insurance." Buyer beware they are only interested in selling broken stuff and hoping it gets off the lot before it brakes. Read the other stories, wish I had found this site before I went there. More
Bought a used 2015 Silverado with 52,000 miles on it. Drove it home and the transmission went out of it completely (with one very loud bang ;done) within 26 hours of leaving the dealer’s lot while taking Drove it home and the transmission went out of it completely (with one very loud bang ;done) within 26 hours of leaving the dealer’s lot while taking my wife out in it for her first ride along. I drove it straight home and then to give her a test ride. They offered me an extended warranty at the dealer, but after them doing their “multi point vehicle inspection” I guess they clearly and obviously missed something. Called them as soon as it happened on the side of the road 2 miles from my home while waiting for the tow. They told me “there’s nothing we will do, we offered you an extended warranty.” Really???? That’s the best you can do??? Repairs are likely to exceed $5k. Buyer beware at Bale Chevrolet. You’re on your own. More
The Bale repair shop on North Cross St should be avoided at all cost. I had some work done on my Suburban a few months ago, and it was amazing how incompetent this shop is. I got a firm estimate from them at all cost. I had some work done on my Suburban a few months ago, and it was amazing how incompetent this shop is. I got a firm estimate from them, and then I was told, after they started, that it was a huge error by over 100%. Eventually it had to be escalated twice within the Bale Service Organization. At the end, the overall job done was very poor. I had to take it to Crain Chevrolet to get it done correctly. They even removed items that was in my car that was not theirs. They couldn't find the parts in most cases, so I had to find them myself third party. They blamed the lack of parts on COVID, but how was I able to get them and they couldn't. Overall, the young man helping me didn't know what he was doing. He priced the job incorrectly, he apparently didn't know how to estimate and had no oversight what so every by Bale. He even lost the original estimate and he had to redo it. One of the managers apologized and told me he would make it right. Well, he didn't. He was interested in trying to negotiate less scope that was promised.....the remaining work was done very cheaply. Crain corrected, but of course, I had to pay to get it done right. Don't bother going to them. Not fit to stay in business. More
