Wow is all i can say. I came in to buy a little truck and was able to get an awesome deal on an 05 Dodge Ram instead. Thomas McGuire was very helpful and answered all my questions I had. I came to Capehart's because the prices on their used vehicles seemed incredible. Thomas was my salesperson. I found a vehicle I really, really wanted and started the loan process. I got off work that evening and drove from Virginia Beach the the middle of Chesapeake, thinking I was going to get to drive my new car home. I showed up just in time to see another person drive off in it. They had sold the car earlier that day, and didn't have the decency to call and tell me. Since I pretty much had the loan secured, I test drove a Jeep Cherokee Laredo. It drove ok, the engine looked clean, and it had a inspection sticker from the month before. The radio didn't work, but I overlooked that, as well as some other small damage. I bought the truck, and within weeks regretted my decision. I've had the jeep four months. I've discovered that it's tie rod ends were shot, it needed ball joints, there was a hole in the radiator, it had a bad water pump, there's a leak in one of the rear brakes, it has a sizable oil leak, it needs new shocks, and one of the break sensors is broken. There is still a leak somewhere in the coolant system I haven't been able to find. How this vehicle passed an inspection is a complete mystery. As far as staff at this dealership goes, Thomas seemed like a decent person and a good salesman. However, the man in charge of financing vehicles is a complete slimeball. This company sold me an unsafe vehicle, after I told them that I constantly have children in the car with me. I will be reporting the the Better Business Bureau. I am now in the process of trying to trade the jeep in for something different. I would never, ever consider visiting this dealership again. I understand that buying a used vehicle carries some risk, and that I will likely have to put out money here and there for repairs. However, this is absolutely insane. More
I BOUGHT A CAR FROM CAPEHART AND PAMELA WAS MY SALES PERSON IN JUNE 2011. I HAVE ONLY HAD THIS CAR FOR ONLY 7 MONTHS AND HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE ENGINE FOR ABOUT 3 MONTHS. THEY SOLD ME A LEMON WITH A PERSON IN JUNE 2011. I HAVE ONLY HAD THIS CAR FOR ONLY 7 MONTHS AND HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE ENGINE FOR ABOUT 3 MONTHS. THEY SOLD ME A LEMON WITH A BAD ENGINE. FOR THE MONEY I PAID FOR THIS VEHICLE , YOU WOULD THINK THEY WOULD INSPECT THEIR VEHICLES PRIOR TO SELLLING THEM TO THE PUBLIC. I WILL NEVER BUY AND CAR OR RECOMMEND THIS DEALERSHIP. MY PERSONAL OPINION IS THAT THIS DEALER IS A RIP OFF AND DOESNT SELL QUALITY USED VEHICLES. WHOLESALER OR NOT THEY SHOULD INSPECT VECHICLES. THEY DIDNT EVEN CHANGE THE OIL ON THE VEHICLE. I HAD TO TAKE TO THE DEALER WHO TOLD ME THAT THEY SHOULD HAVE AT LEAST CHANGED OIL. NOW IM STUCK WITH A DEAD CAR AND 4 YR LOAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! More
I was working with my salesman for a couple of days on a certain car. He was going to call me when it was ready which he did. So I went there drove it liked it and bought it. I was getting ready to be really mad until he got his boss to sell me a better car for the same price I was buying the other and totally redeemed there selves. They were super nice. I contacted this dealer about a car advertised on cars.com (and their website). As an out of town buyer I made an offer over the phone of $1000 below their asking price, which the salesman said he w cars.com (and their website). As an out of town buyer I made an offer over the phone of $1000 below their asking price, which the salesman said he would take to his manager. The salesman never got back to me and the next day the price of the car was raised by $2000 (it had been priced the same on both websites, and both were raised). When I called back to find out what was going on, the salesman not only wouldn't explain but denied that they had ever offered the car at the lower price! That's slime-ball behavior in my book. More
