A week after that the check engine light came on and I got it checked out and 2 cylinders were dead in the motor. And their xxxxxxxx warranty they give you only covers up to $1000 which covers nothing when 3 shops tell me that I need a new motor. So I called the dealership and told them my situation and they said there's nothing they can do. WORST SERVICE I've ever had. Now I'm out $5000 and a truck. More

My experience with Great Bridge Auto Sales I purchased a Jeep from Great Bridge Auto Sales a few days ago and my experience has been very negative to say the least. A deposit was left that w I purchased a Jeep from Great Bridge Auto Sales a few days ago and my experience has been very negative to say the least. A deposit was left that was supposed to be for $500 and ended up being for $750 after they said it was going to be $500. I overlooked the overcharge because it was never stated or written that it was a non refundable deposit. After deciding to not purchase the vehicle I was told I could not get the deposit back even though it was never stated verbally or written that it was non refundable. They told me "we can't help you... we are going to have to keep your money" which was already $250 more than I was originally supposed to be charged. So with the fear of losing $750, they pressured me into a different less expensive vehicle. I test drove the vehicle and found no problems. I was told it came with a 3 month warranty and would be put through the Va state inspection which gave me confidence that it was a good vehicle as well that I would be buying. Less than 2 hours total time of driving the car had passed before the check engine light came on. Shortly after that the vehicle started to shake and feel underpowered when accelerating. Before I could get back home the check engine light was now blinking and not just solid. It is now parked and not drive able for fear of damaging it more. I talked to Lannin, who I was told is the owner of the dealership (which I now know is not true), and he told me that he can't help me, that that was why I signed all the paperwork that it isn't his problem. I asked if he could send a person from the dealership at least to check the engine code so I would not have to tow it and he said he would not. I asked about the 3 month warranty that came with it and he said it he can't help me because I didn't buy an extended warranty. They lied and pressured me into the sale of a vehicle that was not as described and refuse to attempt to remedy the issue. I took the Jeep to a service station and had them run diagnostics and put an alignment to try and fix the wobble. They said the catalytic converters are bad and it needs a new coil pack and new wires and that might fix the misfire. But I can't do the coil pack and wires till I do that catalytic converter because it will mess them up again. The catalytic converter apparently is over a grand. I called and told the dealer that and he said he can't help me and that those issues would not be covered under the 3 month warranty. The same week, my friend and roommate purchased a Dodge Neon from the dealership. The day after he bought the car the check engine light came on. We took the car back to the dealership and the guy we spoke to used his handheld thing and told us it was just an airflow sensor which wouldn't be expensive. Well, turns out that Dodge Neons do not even have an airflow sensor and what was really wrong was the cats were bad and the map sensor was bad. Now he has to buy a new catalytic converter and map sensors. Dealership refuses to help... They told him he had to take care of the issue himself. This dealership is obviously resetting vehicle diagnostic systems in order to sell the vehicles as if they have no issues. On this website, there is a question at the bottom of the form I am filling out that asks, "What is the most valuable role that the dealer salesperson plays in the purchase process?" The answers to choose from are "negotiator, educator and facilitator." I feel all three are important roles, however, what is most important to me when working with a dealership is that every person involved in the process be a person who is honest, with high morals and integrity. Unfortunately, in this case, that was not my experience. More
