I purchased a pre-owned 750Li here and had some issues with the car. My service advisor, Gem was amazing in her detail as far as following up with me, working with the service technicians and keeping the with the car. I was getting a little frustrated that little things would pop up, but Gem was always on top of things, helping to keep my mood light and staying determined to remedy whatever issues came up. My sincere thanks goes out to the entire dealership as they have been amazing in how they've treated me and have ensured that ill be a customer for a long time. I would highly recommend this dealer to anyone looking for an exceptional dealership, with exceptional people. More
My car was towed to Tenafly BMW because it was dead and could not start. I was told up front that the diagnostic would cost $140 regardless if I gave them the ok to do the work or not. They diagnosed the problem to be a bad starter and quoted me $925 plus tax plus the $140 diagnostic fee. In the meantime, I called Wide World of cars to see what they would charge. Their price was $675. I called back Tenafly BMW and told them not to do the work and I would have a tow truck to pick up my car. I told them they were much more expensive than any dealership. They did not care. When they gave me the bill for the diagnostic charge, I saw they had charged me $226.81. I immediately disputed this and the service writer said he never quoted me $140. He most certainly did, and my wife was a witness to this. In the end, he said he did not want to argue with me and would adjust the bill. He gave me another bill for $151.20, which included a "miscellaneous charge"???? Even though I live in Tenafly, I will travel the distance to go to Wide World BMW where they are fair and honest. Never Tenafly BMW again. More
My family and I had a long history with this dealer, back to when it was DiFeo BMW. We got 3 BMWs from them, the first of which we subsequently found that we had been ripped off. However, on our 2nd and 3rd cars, we had serious problems with service. The service department was completely unreliable and unresponsive. There were many instances of long waits just to see a service rep and missed deadlines for service on the car. In one occasion, shortly after I got my BMW 330i, the company issued a factory recall on the car software. This was just prior to a Memorial Day holiday. What began as missed deadlines and promises that they couldn't meet, the service department ended up keeping the car for the entire holiday weekend. Obviously, this messed up my plans so I was upset, however, there was no remedy, assurances of completion or apologies offered by the service rep Since then, we have vowed never to step foot in this dealer again and haven't for the last 4 years and 3 cars. However, we recently purchased an X3, at another dealer, of course. Given their proximity, I went back for service, this time for a simple oil change. They open at 7:30 am and my appointment was for 7:45 am, which means I was the 2nd appointment. I got there on time but I ended up waiting 1 hour, which no acknowledgement. Given the bad history, I was fed up and asked for my car back as enough of my time was wasted. The service rep was surprised that I waited 1 hour. Unbelievable! The service rep should know his own schedule, and unless he was seeing his first customer of the day for an hour and 15 minutes, was obviously seeing other people who were behind me. I don't know who the manager of the service department is, but I sincerely hope he or she gets their act together. After many years and a name change, this dealership has not changed. The sales staff isn't that great, but the service department is unbelievably horrible. I have found staff at other BMW dealers to be incredibly more helpful and diligent. Nevertheless, my family and I have moved on to another brand where both sales and service are reliable and punctual. Although BMW of Tenafly is convenient for me given its location, I will gladly travel out of my way to avoid them if we decide to get another BMW down the road. More
Go in for oil change and you get a screw stuck in your tire and dealer wants to charge you money to fix the tire. I said no because I didn't have screw in my tire when I brought the car in because if I d tire and dealer wants to charge you money to fix the tire. I said no because I didn't have screw in my tire when I brought the car in because if I did have it it made noise since metal head on screw was hitting the road surface plus it only cost $10 to repair this and why would I drive around with screw in my tire I would fix it immediately. Since Tenafly service dept claims its not auto related screw I showed the screw to BMW Park Ave service person and he determined it is used in BMW. Its very unique screw and you don't see these screws on the street. Anyway made complaint to BMW NA since the service rep from BMW Tenafly was very rude. Before and after is totally different these service rep are friendly in beginning until you complain they will treat you like dirt. At least I have a choice so I have nothing to loss I'll go to different BMW dealer and make sure all my facebook friend do not use Tenafly BMW. More

My leased car was only a few weeks old before it was almost totaled in a hit and run accident. Ricki Shamen was awesome to deal with when I leased the car initially and then Steven just couldn't have been more helpful, knowledgable, and communicative during the repair process. It took way longer than expected because of an issue with the adjuster, but Steven was less focussed on blame and more focussed on service. Thank you to Steven and BMW of Tenafly. More
